Chaperones age 25 or older now must accompany minors at the Indiana State Fair in the evenings
After a fight broke out at the Indiana State Fair over the weekend and a video of the altercation went viral, the fairgrounds updated the rules on their Unaccompanied Minor Policy. Here's what to know. The Indiana State Fairgrounds Unaccompanied Minor Policy has been updated for 2025 and is as follows: Guests younger than age 18 will no longer be allowed to attend the Indiana State Fair in the evenings without someone at least age 25 accompanying them. The Unaccompanied Minor Policy does not apply to organized and ticketed group outings or those participating in competitions where existing chaperone procedures are in place. The Unaccompanied Minor Policy goes into effect every day of the fair after 6 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and after 4 p.m. Friday-Sunday. Any person entering may be asked to show a valid driver's license, state identification card, or other government issued ID, so make sure to have that with you. Indiana State Fair: Days after viral video shows teens fighting, organizers announce policy change Per the Aug. 5 update to the policy, a chaperone must be age 25 or older. Each adult (25 or older) may chaperone up to four individuals. Ryan Murphy contributed to this report.
