‘No matter where I am…' – Son Heung-min drops huge Tottenham exit hint as he responds to transfer rumours
SON HEUNG-MIN has told fans to 'wait and see what happens' regarding his future. The South Korean icon, 32, is a target for Saudi Pro League clubs this summer. 1 SunSport understands Son would be open to going out on the high of finally winning a trophy with last month's Europa League triumph after a decade at the club. But Spurs are unlikely to let him go on the cheap, even with only 12 months left on his deal, given his commercial value to the club. Son, who earned his 134th cap for his country in a 4-0 win over Kuwait, said: "I still have one more year left on the contract. 'Rather than saying anything at this moment, I think we should all wait and see what happens. 'But no matter where I end up, I will always do the best I can. It will never change." Son also spoke of his satisfaction after finally getting his hands on silverware with Tottenham. He already has eyes on next season and is preparing to start the campaign in the best possible physical shape. He continued: "I think I've accomplished everything I've done while playing the football I wanted to. "Football is about winning and only winners are remembered. Despite the difficult season, it was a really happy season for me because I experienced the trophy that I've been chasing since I was young. "It was a year where I wanted to do better. I was so happy to be able to share that moment with so many people who cheered me on. "I haven't been in good condition many times, but I think I'll be able to prepare for the new season in really good condition."

Socceroos secure World Cup place with come-from-behind win over Saudi Arabia
The Socceroos secured their qualification for the 2026 World Cup thanks to a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium where, crucially, they avoided heavy defeat. Needing to avoid a five-goal loss in Jeddah, Tony Popovic's side did what was required, but not before they went behind to an early Abdulrahman Al-Aboud goal which set the pulses racing. Connor Metcalfe helped ease nerves when he brought Australia back onto level terms just before the half-time break with his first international goal, before Mitch Duke headed the visitors into the lead soon after the restart. The game appeared to slip away from Saudi Arabia on 51 minutes when Ali Majrashi was sent off for cutting down Martin Boyle, who was through on goal, but VAR intervened, deeming there was no contact and the red card was rescinded. The home side were handed a chance to pull level late on when the referee pointed to the spot for a Jason Geria foul on Salem Aldawsari, but Maty Ryan, making his 100th appearance for the Socceroos, saved the resulting penalty. Australia join Group C winners Japan – and Group A's Iran and Uzbekistan, and South Korea and Jordan from Group B – as automatic Asian qualifiers for next year's expanded 48-team tournament in North America. The result means Saudi Arabia, along with Indonesia from Group C, must head into a fourth round of qualifying.
