Time Outa day ago

It's safe to say we all lost our collective minds when Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headline act for Spilt Milk (alongside Doechii, Dominic Fike and Schoolboy Q), but when tickets sold out immediately, many of us who missed out were left devastated. Thankfully, the multi-Grammy Award-winning rapper heard the cries of local fans and has just confirmed he'll be performing a massive show in December.
The Grand National Tour will take over Melbourne's AAMI Park on Wednesday, December 3 – and we could not be more excited. Here's everything we know so far.
When is Kendrick Lamar in Melbourne?
The beloved artist will be bringing his Grand National Tour to AAMI Park on Wednesday, December 3 – it will be the first time he's been in the Melbourne since his 2022 The Big Steppers Tour.
When do Kendrick Lamar Melbourne tickets go on sale?
The general sale kicks off at 11am on Monday, June 16 via Ticketek.
Is there a Kendrick Lamar presale for his Melbourne show?
For an icon like Lamar, you better believe it! The Vodafone presale goes live on Thursday, June 12 at 11am. Not a Vodafone customer? Several other presales go live on Friday, June 13 at 9am, with options for Visa holders, Live Nation members and My Ticketek members.
How much do Kendrick Lamar tickets cost?
Start rustling those money trees! Exact ticket prices are yet to be released, but we don't expect them to come cheap. Real committed Kenfolk can get in on the VIP packages – which include premium reserved seats and VIP merch designed by Kung Fu Kenny himself (the prices for those packages are also currently under wraps).
Where else is Kendrick Lamar playing in Australia?
Spilt Milk will bring Lamar to Ballarat, Perth, Canberra and the Gold Coast. His Grand National Tour is a more exclusive affair, with only two shows currently confirmed – one in Melbourne, and one in Sydney on Wednesday, December 10.

This 'hidden gem' period drama took me by surprise – I'm now obsessed

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video I remember rolling my eyes when I first heard the premise for Apple TV Plus's new period drama – The Buccaneers. Now, I'm up at midnight crying my eyes out as I binge my way through the new season. The show is based on Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Edith Wharton's final unfinished novel of the same name. Her repertoire chronicles the complex lives of those living in the upper class echelons in the US around the end of the 19th century. In the case of The Buccaneers, we follow a group of New York debutantes shipped off to London to find husbands. This thoroughly contemporary adaptation, using a 21st century soundtrack and an ethos of female and LGBTQ+ empowerment throughout, was not originally my cup of tea. I usually find modern takes on period dramas hit and miss, and although they can sometimes be groundbreaking (see Apple TV+'s Dickinson), other times the historical leniency can take you out of the story (say with Reign or even shows like mammoth hit Bridgerton). So, I went into the first season expecting to dislike the merging of the US and UK aesthetic and perhaps cringe at the on-the-nose ways they try to bring it to the 21st century. I was quickly proven wrong. Our main group of women – Conchita (Alisha Boe), Lizzy (Aubri Ibrag), Mabel (Josie Totah), Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse) and Nan (Kristine Froseth) – prove themselves a powerful ensemble cast with vivacious personalities. Far from my initial impression of a shallow drama with trite love triangles, predictable affairs and stereotypical aristocracy, this only scratches the the surface. Don't get me wrong, for people who love those soap operatic style storylines, there is still plenty to sink your teeth into, but the show also goes much deeper than that – as proven by season two. Despite already being convinced by the show, the second season still managed to take me by surprise by never going where I expected it to. Instead, the show flies off in a completely different, often more refreshing, direction. It's clear in this second season that the show takes the responsibility of portraying both the joy and hardships that women faced in this period seriously. The Buccaneers allows those moments of solidarity and the celebration of womanhood in all of its glory to shine while still giving the space and depth to explore the tougher aspects, always ending on a hopeful note. We delve into everything from the consequences of domestic violence to the misogynistic judicial system to compulsory heterosexuality, and our heroines fight for a just world. The leading men – such as Nan's love interest Guy (Matthew Broome) and her husband Theo (Guy Remmers) – are also given room to breathe this season and grow as characters in their own right beyond the situationships they have been thrust into. In many ways, love takes a backseat this season. The show ambitiously tries to balance its wide-ranging storylines in a fast-paced eight-episode series and doesn't always succeed. There were times when the pacing came across as confusing, either too abrupt or too slow. More Trending We see this with Leighton Meester's newly introduced character when she disappears for large chunks of time impacting her character development and the audience's relationship with her. Elsewhere, although I enjoyed most of the avenues the story explored, there were times when the story beat or dialogue felt rushed or out of nowhere – simply put there to advance the story forward. For the most part, however, The Buccaneers gets the balance between light-hearted and serious just right, which makes for a delightful and gripping watch that could be just your cup of tea. MTV host Amanda Lewis dead age 53 after breast cancer battle

She leaves behind a 14-year-old son. Amanda Lewis has passed away at the age of 52. The television host, best known for her MTV stint in the late 1990s, lost her life following her battle with breast cancer. She was a popular host during the network's"veejay" era and sadly passed away yesterday, Wednesday June 11, 2025. In October 2020, Ananda announced to fans that she'd been privately battling Stage 3 breast cancer for two years. ‌ She also told how she'd avoided getting regular mammograms due to her fear of radiation exposure. During a 2024 interview she revealed that her breast cancer had reached Stage 4 after previously declining to undergo a mastectomy for treatment. ‌ Ananda's sister Lakshmi has now confirmed the sad news of her sister's passing on Facebook in an emotional message, The Mirror reports. She wrote of Ananda, "She's free and in His heavenly arms [heart emojis]. Lord, rest her soul [prayer hands emoji]." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Lakshmi confirmed that her sister died at her home in Los Angeles at 11:35am and that she was in hospice care at the time of her death. Lakshimi also revealed that Ananda's 14-year-old son was graduating middle school the same day as her passing. TMZ reported that made the day very bittersweet. She shares the teen boy, her only child, with husband Harry Smith, 54, who is the younger brother of Oscar-winning actor Will Smith, 56. Many are mourning Ananda's untimely death on social media, especially on X, formerly Twitter. One wrote on the platform X: "Omg Rip to the beautiful #AnandaLewis her sister confirmed the news. "If you're a 90s/early 2000s baby, then you definitely wanted to be her, at some point! The real 'It girl'! She just had it!Phuck cancer! Sending love to every person that loved her. Get your rest beauty." ‌ Another wrote on X: " Ananda Lewis was so iconic. Sleep peacefully angel," a third penned: "Ananda Lewis was one of the quintessential 90's baddies RIP." As a fixture on MTV in the late 1990s, Ananda hosted hit shows like Total Request Live, Hot Zone and Spring Break. But she left her MTV role in 2001 and began hosting her very own daytime TV talk show, The Ananda Lewis Show, which ran for two seasons. She earned two NAACP Image Awards during her career and was once deemed the 'the hip-hop generation's reigning It Girl' by The New York Times. Lakshmi said that a memorial would be held 'in a few weeks' and that celebrities who Ananda previously interview have already expressed interest in paying tribute to her at the upcoming service.
