Mandal members of 3 areas meet cops to demand ban on plasma speakers, laser lights during Ganeshotsav
During the meeting, the members requested a police crackdown against the use of laser lights and plasma speakers by mandals during festivities. The police said laser lights have already been disallowed since last year, but a call will be taken on plasma speakers.
The mandals from these three routes had earlier claimed that they feel neglected as the police and civic authorities give priority to mandals located on Laxmi Road during the festival.
As a result, this special meeting was convened on Monday to discuss their issues.

They said laser lights have been causing health issues, especially blindness, among devotees and mandal members.
We informed them that the use of laser lights has been banned from 2024 anyway."
He added, "Mandal members then also demanded a ban on the use of plasma speakers. They said these speakers tend to produce high-pitched, harsh noises and cause mental distress. We will soon take a call on the same after studying the impact of these speakers on human health."
The senior police officer also said, "Generally, mandal members take permission to use dhol-tasha and loudspeakers for only immersion day, but the procession also continues into the second day. So, we have requested them to seek permission for these things for two days instead of one."
The mandals discussed traffic measures with police with regards to their return after idol immersion at the end of the festival, pointing to traffic snarls caused due to lack of route management for seamless movement.
Ganesh Kanade of the Shri Seva Mitra Mandal told TOI, "We have legitimate demands as our mandals are located in residential and educational hubs of the city. We want to reduce public woes by demanding a ban on laser lights and plasma speakers. Traffic is a major concern and once that is sorted, it will provide relief to many."

Is Your Main Birth Chart Telling You the Whole Truth? Discover the Hidden Power of Varga Charts!
I visualized a Navamsha chart glowing against a cosmic nebula. Planets and zodiac symbols illuminate the intricate web of astrological influences. While the primary birth chart (Rashi chart, or D1 chart) gives a general overview of a person's life, Indian astrology employs a sophisticated system of Varga charts , or divisional charts, to provide a more focused and detailed analysis. This system moves beyond the surface-level placements to reveal the specific potential and challenges in various areas of life. Instead of just looking at the zodiac sign, Varga charts subdivide each sign into smaller, equal parts, creating a series of micro-charts that act like a magnifying glass on different life departments. The most important of these is the Navamsha chart , also known as the D9 chart. The word "Navamsha" means "ninth part," and this chart is created by dividing each zodiac sign into nine equal segments of 3∘20′. The Navamsha is considered so crucial that it is often consulted alongside the main birth chart. Its primary function is to reveal the true strength of the planets and the underlying destiny of an individual, particularly concerning marriage, relationships, and spiritual development. A planet that is strong in the main chart but weak in the Navamsha may not be able to deliver its full promise. Conversely, a seemingly weak planet in the main chart can become powerful and auspicious in the Navamsha, indicating a hidden strength that will manifest later in life. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ideal 60 sqm Homes for Seniors in Malaysia: Move-In Ready AskLayers Learn More Undo Beyond the Navamsha, there are many other Varga charts, each dedicated to a specific area of life. The Dasamsha (D10) is used to analyze career, public life, and professional success. The Saptamsha (D7) provides insights into children, parenthood, and creative expression. The Shodashamsha (D16) is used to examine happiness from vehicles and property. This systematic approach allows a Jyotish astrologer to move past generalities and focus on the intricate details of a person's experiences, providing a comprehensive and multi-layered perspective on their chart. Travel green: Top 10 cleanest countries leading the fight against pollution
I n an era marked by environmental challenges, such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change, it takes a lot for a nation to manage their environmental responsibilities. In this context, the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) provides a comprehensive evaluation of countries based on environmental health and ecosystem vitality, offering insight into global efforts toward sustainability. (Data sourced from World Population Review) Developed jointly by researchers at Yale University and Columbia University, the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) evaluates how clean and environmentally responsible 180 countries are. The EPI uses 58 indicators across 11 categories to measure progress toward three key policy goals: ecosystem vitality, climate change performance, and environmental health. These categories cover areas like air quality, water and sanitation, biodiversity, habitat protection, and sustainability practices.
