Mandala Murders Actor Piloo Vidyarthi Reveals Whether She Believes In Black Magic: 'Won't Say…'
Last Updated: Piloo Vidyarthi discussed her role in Netflix's Mandala Murders, emphasising its scientific basis over black magic. She also revealed whether she believes in the supernatural.. When we caught up with Piloo Vidyarthi for a conversation about her layered and commanding performance in Mandala Murders, we knew we were in for an honest, thoughtful take on her career, life after her divorce from actor Ashish Vidyarthi, and more. And she surely didn't disappoint. Her latest show with Vaani Kapoor, Netflix's Mandala Murders, took a surprising turn in its final episodes, leaving the audience on the edge. The show blends supernatural elements with sci-fi and thriller. In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, we asked Piloo Vidyarthi if she believes in the occult and whether she thinks black magic exists. Here's what she had to say. Speaking about Mandala Murders, and whether she believes in the supernatural herself, Piloo Vidyarthi said, 'No, (laughs)." She then went on to speak about the show. She revealed that the brief she received wasn't about mysticism — it was science. 'It's actually not what people think. It's a sci-fi series set in the Indian 1952 context. My character was part of a scientific cult… researchers and engineers who believed in natural energy transfers, from the arms, head, body, and mixing them. The story was about energy, not black magic." But public perception was very different. 'They were outcast as witches. But that's what makes the story so fascinating. It's not ghosts or black magic. People in opposition used to comment that they are performing black magic, so burn them. But they didn't burn, they continued with what they are doing." Piloo Vidyarthi reveals whether she believes in black magic She traced back her thoughts on black magic and said, 'I won't say that I disbelief it completely because during my bad days, I do tend to think whether someone has done something to me (laughs). Then when the situation turns, these thoughts don't occur." Piloo Vidyarthi speaks about her acting process, Dimple Kapadia's performance in Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo Smiling at the love her performance received, Piloo Vidyarthi opened up about her process. 'I don't watch series to perform. I socialise. I have a very small circle of close friends… I watch content but not with the intention to pick up anything, because acting can never be picked up." For her, acting is instinctual. 'It's my take on things. It develops organically. Good performances definitely feed you, but I believe if you're a good actor, you don't try to act. The moment you try to act, it becomes… acting," she explained the process. This grounded philosophy extends to her admiration for seasoned performers. 'When I saw Dimple Kapadia in Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, she wasn't 'acting'. She was that character. That's what makes it so beautiful." For her, the joy lies in working with good directors and sincere co-actors. 'Monica Chaudhary was brilliant. We had worked together earlier on The Wedding Story. My theatre colleague played Vikram Singh's mother — such a beautifully layered performance." Piloo Vidyarthi talks about Mandala Murders co-star Vaani Kapoor Piloo Vidyarthi also spoke about Vaani Kapoor, who worked with her in Mandala Murders. 'She's very natural," said, recalling her time on set with Vaani. 'She and I spoke briefly about our scenes. She had come all the way prepared. But what stood out to me was how consistent she is. Whether it's with the director, her co-actors, or the crew, she's the same – always calm, focused, and collaborative. That, I believe, is her strength," she expressed. Apart from Mandala Murders, Piloo Vidyarthi was also a part of Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan's Sarzameen. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Ranbir Kapoor recalled hearing parents Neetu and Rishi Kapoor fight and ‘break things' for hours at night: ‘I was in the firing line'
Despite coming from Bollywood's most iconic film family, Ranbir Kapoor has carved a niche for himself with his performances in the film industry. The actor has mostly kept his private life away from the limelight, but there was this one time during an old interview when he spoke about feeling embarrassed about the fights between his parents — Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor — and how the trouble in their marriage became public. In an old interaction with TBIP, Ranbir recalled sitting awake at night and listening to his parents fight and 'break things.' He shared, 'At that time press didn't matter because I was in the fire zone. I was living with my parents so seeing them going through that phase, I was very much part of it. I was right there. We live in a bungalow and my parents live downstairs and I live on the upper floor. I remember sitting on staircases for four hours from 1 at night to 5 in the morning and hearing them fight, break things.' Ranbir admitted that he felt embarrassed in front of his friends at school as the trouble in his parents' marriage became headlines. 'Everyone goes through it but just that my parents were celebrities so it was in the press. It was a little embarrassing in school. Your friends don't mention it because they are good friends, but somewhere you know that there is a sense of 'I know what is happening in your life'. But you have to deal with it. What's more important is your parents became okay. They came out of this phase and find companionship and friendship again.' In a recent interaction, comedian and actor Vir Das spoke about witnessing Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor's fight on a flight. Speaking on the Moment of Silence podcast, he said, 'I'm in the back of a flight, and like in the front of the flight, I hear some chikad-chikad happening between a couple in business class, 'You can't eat the cake.' 'I want to eat the cake.' 'You're not allowed to eat the cake. The doctor said no cake.' 'I want the bloody cake. What the f**k?'.' Vir recalled Rishi coming to his seat and talking to him. He ultimately had the cake that was served to Vir on the flight. Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on April 30, 2020. Neetu and Rabir were by his side after he was diagnosed with cancer, treatment and recovery. He was 67 years old.

Real reason why Rajesh Khanna didn't let Dimple Kapadia act in films after marriage
India's first superstar, Rajesh Khanna, married Dimple Kapadia despite she was 16 years younger than him. Dimple, who made her debut in Bollywood, Rajesh fell in love with her and decided to marry her. The couple soon became the most talked-about couple in B-town. The two got married in 1973. Before their marriage, Dimple Kapadia made her debut in Raj Kapoor's directorial, Bobby. After this, Dimple took a break from the film industry, putting her career on pause. Several media reports revealed, Rajesh Khanna played a pivotal role in Dimple's decision to quit the film after marriage. Wy Dimple Khanna disappear after her debut in Bobby? Bobby was a huge success in 1973; the film was a blockbuster at the box office. Debutant Dimple Kapadia became an overnight sensation in Bollywood since she was a new face in the film industry. You might be thinking that after delivering such a blockbuster film, Dimple Kapadia's career would have seen far more success. But here is where you go wrong. Unlike other divas, Dimple Kapadia decided to step down from the film industry. After giving just one film, Dimple withdrew from films and disappeared from the industry for 10 long years. Dimple became the mother of two daughters, and she chose to look after her children, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna. When Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan chose not to let their wives work post-marriage A report by the Indian Express revealed Rajesh Khanna's conversation with superstar Amitabh Bachchan, where the two actors discoursed on many elements. Another topic of conversation became when the two forced their wives to step down from their acting careers. You will be surprised to know, Rajesh Khanna didn't even see Dimple Kapadia in Bobby, even before he concluded that Dimple Kapadia must not do acting. Khanna said, 'I had no problems with my wife working. But when I married Dimple, I wanted a mother for my children. I didn't want them to be brought up by servants. And I had no idea of Dimple's talent; Bobby was still not released.' Later on, Rajesh Khanna watched Dimple Kapadia's Bobby and later realised she was filled with talent. Khanna revealed, 'Besides, if I knew at that moment that Bobby would prove her talent, I wouldn't have stopped her. To curb talent is cruel. By the time I saw Bobby, our first daughter was already born.' He further said, 'When I told one of my daughters, Twinkle, that if she would like to act in a film, I would produce one for her. She said, 'You will let me act but to Mummy you say no.' I said, 'For the simple reason that I am your father and not your husband.'' After quitting films, Dimple Kapadia looked after her children and gave them the attention they needed. However, reportedly, during the early 1980s, the couple decided to part ways from their marriage. However, it is worth noting that the couple never officially filed for divorce. Even during Rajesh Khanna's toughest days, Dimple stood with him. In 2012, Rajesh Khanna passed away after battling cancer.
