England star continues rise in Rankings update
Courtesy of Jones' brilliance, England had an unbeaten run in the ODI series that followed the T20Is against West Indies, which they had won 3-0 as well.
The experienced Kate Cross was another protagonist in England's win, and finished with three scalps in the series, including an economical 1/15 in the final ODI. She gains a spot to sit in eighth place in the ICC Women's ODI Bowling Rankings.
With the upcoming India tour, Jones and Cross along with other England players have an opportunity to further improve their positions in the Women's Rankings.

WTC final: Australia's Hazlewood returns for big game against South Africa
Marnus Labuschagne will open the batting for Australia and Josh Hazlewood has been selected in the bowling line-up for the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord's, captain Pat Cummins said on the eve of the game on Tuesday. Labuschagne has been moved up the order to accommodate the return of Cameron Green, who underwent back surgery in October and was ruled out of the home season, while Hazlewood is fit again after a calf injury to replace of Scott Boland. "Cam Green has been coming back in great form in the last few weeks and we thought he deserved a spot in the batting lineup. We thought three probably suits him best," Cummins told a press conference. "For Marnus moving one spot up, it's not too different to batting at three. He's done well here in England in the past." Leaving out Boland, who had been one of the heroes of Australia's 3-1 Test series win over India this year, had been a difficult decision. "There are some guys where you genuinely say, you've done nothing wrong, don't change a thing and that's Scotty. He is just really unfortunate to miss out. "The message to Scotty is there's a lot of Test cricket coming up in the next couple of years and just because your mid-30s doesn't mean that's the end of your career. "By having a squad of fast bowlers, hopefully we can extend all our care for an extra couple of years." An element of selection criteria was to reward those who had contributed to defending champions Australia winning 13 of 19 Tests in the two-year WTC cycle and reaching yet another final. "I think our selectors have probably shown you that they're happy and they'd rather give someone an extra little run than pull the pin too early. I think it's partly rewarding those guys that got us here.' Cummings said defending the title was high on the Australian priority list, even after all their success in the limited-overs formats. "It's a trophy we've spoken a lot about over the last couple of years. "Test cricket is my favourite format. You've got to basically win in all different conditions to make it into this final. If we can retain that mace, that's a pretty awesome thing for this team." Former West Indies captain Pooran retires from internationals
Former West Indies white-ball captain Nicholas Pooran announced his retirement from international duty on Monday. Pooran hit 13 half-centuries in 106 Twenty20 Internationals and amassed 2,275 runs to become West Indies' leading scorer in the shortest format. One of the world's most explosive batters, the 29-year-old smashed 149 sixes in T20 Internationals to stand fifth overall. He served as West Indies' limited overs skipper but gave up the captaincy after their first-round exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup. "This game we love has given and will continue to give so much - joy, purpose, unforgettable memories, and a chance to represent the people of the West Indies," the Trinidadian said in a social media post on Monday. "Wearing that maroon, standing for the anthem, and giving everything I had each time I stepped on the field... it's hard to put into words what that truly means to me. "To have led the team as captain is a privilege I will always hold close to my heart." Pooran last played for West Indies in their 3-0 T20 series defeat by Bangladesh in December last year, while his most recent ODI appearance came in July 2023 against Sri Lanka. "Nicholas officially informed the leadership of his decision to retire from international cricket, bringing to a close a significant chapter in his career," Cricket West Indies said in a statement. "His performances on the field and influence within the team have made a lasting impact on West Indies cricket." Pooran opted to skip West Indies' ongoing T20 series against England, requesting to be rested after playing for the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. He is likely to remain active on the lucrative global T20 league circuit.
