Former Disney Channel child star branded as 'unrecognizable' after shocking transformation

Daily Mail4 hours ago

She was once known as the brainy Olive Doyle on Disney Channel's A.N.T. Farm, but Sierra McCormick looks completely unrecognizable today.
Now 27, the former child star has undergone a jaw-dropping transformation, swapping her squeaky-clean Disney image for a bold, edgy look that's left fans doing a double take.
Sierra, who rose to fame in the early 2010s with her breakout role on A.N.T. Farm, has since pivoted to more serious parts.
She has been in indie films like The Vast of Night, the psychological horror We Need to Do Something, and popular TV show American Horror Story.
With her career shift has come a striking new image.
The actress no longer sports her long blonde locks and the colorful wardrobe that she once did on A.N.T. Farm.
Now, in its place is a modern red bob, dramatic eye makeup, and a more mature fashion sense that's a far cry from her Disney roots.
Fans were stunned when recent photos of the actress began circulating online, with many admitting they barely recognized her.

In 2022, the actress shared pictures of her younger self and herself 'cringe' and 'insufferable.'
However, some people in the comments didn't agree with her critiques.
'You were such a cute kid,' someone wrote.
Others were shocked to see the old pictures and started to connect the dots on who the actress was.
'Is this the girl from A.N.T. Farm or am I crazy?' someone questioned.
'Oh my god, [I] didn't realize who you were at first you look so different! But so gorgeous,' another person commented.
'OLIVE?' multiple users wondered, referring to her character's name.
Another said: 'GIRL FROM A.N.T. FARM!? HOLY MOTHER F**KING S**T.'

'DID NOT RECOGNIZE YOU,' a different person expressed.
'Bro, I didn't even recognize her,' another wrote.
Someone else said: 'It took me a second to realize who this was.'
'I didn't recognize her until the flashbacks [what the f**k],' another person admitted.

Henry Winkler praised by Marlee Matlin for his extraordinary move after she finished rehab: 'My second dad'

Marlee Matlin was supported by an A-list star during a time of need in the late 80s. After ending an abusive relationship with her then-boyfriend, William Hurt, and finishing a stint in rehab, the actress turned to Henry Winkler, now 79. Although she initially intended to stay with him for a weekend, she would ultimately ended up living with the Happy Days actor and his family for two years. Matlin, 59, told Page Six that Winkler and wife Stacey welcomed her into their home and treated her no differently than their three children — Jed, Max and Zoe. 'I call Henry my second dad,' Matlin gushed. 'I mean, who gets to say that about Henry Winkler? [He's] probably one of the most famous American icons ever.' 'But honestly, he's very genuine and he's been a huge mentor in my life,' she added. Marlee and Henry met when she was about 12-years-old and performing at the Chicago Center on Deafness. Remembering the excitement of him being there, she told the outlet, 'We invited him and sure enough he showed up, which is amazing. Here he is, the Fonz! And I had been a fan of his for a long time.' She added, 'But we stayed in touch after that, and I didn't anticipate that we would be staying in touch. And we stayed friends.' Matlin would eventually marry husband Kevin Grandalski at Winkler's family home. But before her successful marriage to Grandalski, she began dating Hurt as they filmed Children of a Lesser God. The role earned her an Oscar for Best Actress, making her the youngest person to win in the category at age 21 and the first deaf performer to receive the honor. She alleged in her memoir I'll Scream Later that Hurt was physically and verbally abusive during the two years they dated, and said at the time, she 'wasn't familiar' with 'the language used to describe what I was experiencing.' And the starlet was unaware that 'I could reach out for help, not knowing that there was a name for what I was going through.' Hurt died in 2022, and despite the claims of abuse against him, Marlee managed to say something positive when asked about him at the Critics Choice Awards that year. 'We've lost a really great actor and working with him on set in Children of a Lesser God will always be something I remember very fondly,' Matlin said of Hurt. She added, 'He taught me a great deal as an actor and he was one-of-a-kind.' And the entertainment veteran says in her new documentary Not Alone Anymore that her ex-boyfriend inspired her to enter rehab. 'He went to rehab, and I was able to see what it did for him,' she says in the documentary, per Page Six. 'And I knew that checking in there would do me great.' The Shoshannah Stern-directed movie will be in theaters June 20 in New York, and starting June 27 in Los Angeles before hitting more theaters throughout the states.

Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber UNFOLLOW each other... reigniting rumored feud after temporary truce

Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber seem to have reignited their long rumored feud by unfollowing each other on social media. Fans of the pair spotted the social media slight, which took many by surprise. While Selena, 32, and Hailey, 28, have repeatedly denied being in a feud, it hasn't stopped fans from speculating that their pair have fallen out over Justin Bieber. Selena dated Justin on-and-off for years until 2018, when they split for good and he almost immediately moved on with Hailey. The pair eventually tried to quell rumors of a falling out by posing together for a photo in 2022. Around the same time, Selena took to social media to urge her fandom to stop sending 'hate' towards Hailey online. In 2023, the pair went one step further in their reconciliation by following each other on Instagram. They then quietly showed their support for each other over the past few years by liking each other's posts. Last December, Hailey liked Selena's Instagram post celebrating her engagement to Benny Blanco. Selena returned the favor in May by liking a post from Sephora that announced that Hailey's Rhode beauty line would be stocked in their stores. The move was seen as a major gesture given that Sephora is the official stockist of Selena's Rare Beauty brand. Given their mutual support, the fact that they've now unfollowed each other again has sent shockwaves through both of their fandoms. 'Selena saw that Hailey became richer than her and got super jealous,' commented one. 'Selena has no reason to be jealous, if anything it's the other way around,' added another. A third wrote, 'Not again this stupid drama… imagine how tired we are.' Last month, Selena was accused of shading Hailey following the sale of her beauty brand Rhode. Hailey's company was recently acquired by E.l.f. Cosmetics in a massive, $1 billion deal. The mom-of-one, 28, will still serve as founder of the brand as well as Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation. Just one day after the announcement, Selena's cosmetics company Rare Beauty posted two snaps of Selena and simply captioned them with, 'Still here.' One of the images showed the Bad Liar songstress blowing a kiss towards the camera, while another featured her staring into the lens with a sultry look on her face. Many fans became convinced that Selena was subtly poking fun at Hailey's sale with the post, and they were not amused. Hailey's supporters quickly flooded the replies of the post with angry messages. 'It seems like Hailey is always on her mind. Pathetic,' one outraged user wrote. 'The way she's actually shady as hell,' added another.

Boy Meets World star recalls having a 'breakdown' during emotional rehearsal

Boy Meets World alum Rider Strong is looking back on an emotional time in the seven years he appeared on the sitcom. Strong, 45, explained to former co-stars Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle in the latest episode of their podcast Pod Meets World why he had a 'breakdown' while rehearsing the season six episode Getting Hitched in 1999. The episode sees Shawn Hunter, played by Strong, ignore calls from half-brother Jack (Matthew Lawrence), who is seeking help in cleaning out their late father Chet's (Blake Clark) trailer. Chet, who had a hairy relationship with son Shawn, had previously died of a heart attack earlier in the season. Making things more complicated, Shawn was under the impression that his dad had been paying his college tuition — but he later learned Jack's parents were actually footing the bill. 'Shawn's emotional story is that his dad is never there for him,' Strong noted. 'But if his dad was actually paying for his college in Shawn's story — I believe that the denial is possible. But his dad was taking care of him then, in Shawn's mind.' Per People, Friedle, 48, who played the character Eric Matthews, weighed in: 'The fact that they played the scene out and Shawn didn't leave and stayed there and had the conversation, I thought was just such a better way to go about it than Shawn just leaving again.' Eventually Shawn does leave the trailer, and about rehearsing the intense scene, Rider remembered, 'This is where I had my breakdown.' It was spurred by him being 'really bored by my character.' 'What's funny is, in retrospect, this is actually a well-written episode for Shawn... he's finally expressing something,' Strong acknowledged. 'But I remember during rehearsal, I just lost it. I was like, "I feel like I'm saying the same thing every week."' He reflected, 'It's interesting because now that I look at it, I'm like, "Actually, my character is finally expressing himself. This is good." But I don't know. Maybe I was just tired of being on the show.' And the former actor emphasized, 'I was like, "Why [do] they keep throwing drama at me?" 'Now looking at it, this is on the heels of an episode where they killed my father and really put a lot of pressure on us as actors — pressure on [actor] Blake [Sennett] and Matt and me.' In 2021 Rider told People, 'Boy Meets World is one of those shows that said, "No, no, no, this is an important time of your life." 'That boyfriend or girlfriend, or the friendships or the teacher you have could change you forever and help define who you are. I think that's a really beautiful message.' 'Shawn's emotional story is that his dad is never there for him,' Strong noted. 'But if his dad was actually paying for his college in Shawn's story -I believe that the denial is possible. But his dad was taking care of him then, in Shawn's mind' In late May Strong took to Instagram to plug the trio's podcast tour. Sharing with his 273,000 followers on the platform, he uploaded a poster with tour dates and wrote, 'Pod Meets World is hitting the road again this summer for an epic West Coast Tour, kicking off June 4 in Denver! 'We're super excited to see all of you there! Check the link in my bio for ticket details!' Boy Meets World was on air from 1993-2000, and saw the cast become beloved household names. A spinoff, titled Girl Meets World, aired from 2014 to 2017 and included future superstar Sabrina Carpenter in the cast.
