Waiting for GTA 6 to release? Experts warn fans to beware of fake downloads that can lead to cyberattacks
Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is expected for a 2026 debut; amid this, cybersecurity experts are anticipating a surge in malicious activity.
According to a Financial Express report, threat actors are likely to capitalise on the excitement by spreading fake game installers, phoney beta invitations, and misleading early access offers to trick enthusiastic fans.
Even though GTA V was launched over ten years ago, the Grand Theft Auto series continues to be a main target for cyber threats, mainly because of its vast modding community and highly engaged online players.
Fake GTA 6 downloads may lead to cyberattacks ahead of the 2026 launch
As per Kaspersky, there were 4,456,499 cases in which attackers tried to breach systems using files disguised as GTA-linked content.
The latest report noted that researchers carried out a comprehensive investigation using 20 top games favoured by Gen Z, such as titles like GTA, NBA, FIFA, The Sims and Genshin Impact, as key search items.
Covering the period from Q2 2024 to Q1 2025, the study highlighted March 2025 as the peak month, with an alarming 1,842,370 attempted cyberattacks recorded.
When is GTA 6 expected to launch?

Thug Life: Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR faced loss of Rs 30 crore after Karnataka theater ban? Producers weigh in
Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR in the lead roles, hit the big screens on June 5, 2025. Ahead of its release, the Mani Ratnam directorial faced a ban in Karnataka over the veteran actor's comments against Kannada. Now, in a recent report, it seems that the film faced a loss of Rs 30 crore after failing to release in the Kannada-speaking region. In an update shared by the production house, Raaj Kamal Films International confirmed the same. For those unaware, Kamal Haasan made the headlines after he commented against the Kannada language. In a pre-release event, the actor remarked how Kannada was born out of Tamil, which led to a huge uproar among people. As the pro-Kannada activists protested against Haasan and asked him to apologize, the actor declined. This further led the Karnataka Film Board to impose a ban on the movie, limiting its release. However, the Supreme Court of India has criticised the Karnataka government and the Karnataka Film Chamber for their handling of the controversy. The apex court has allowed the film's release in Karnataka, questioning the state government and the Kannada Film Body. On a side note, the Supreme Court further raised concerns on the trend of threatening violence when sentiments are hurt. Coming to Thug Life, the Kamal Haasan and STR starrer is a gangster action drama, directed by Mani Ratnam, which is co-penned by Haasan. The film narrates the tale of a gangster, Rangaraaya Sakthivel, who once adopted a young boy, Amaran, after a shootout in Delhi. Years later, the foster father and son develop a strong bond, with Amaran being a formidable member of the mafia. However, a stark turn of events leads to an animosity between them, which causes them to lock horns. How the father and son end their feud and whether they would finally reunite forms the crux of the film. Apart from the lead actors, the film features Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, and more in key roles. The gangster actioner was received with mixed-to-negative reviews from critics but is considered to be one of the highest-grossing films in Tamil cinema for 2025. Sitaare Zameen Par Advance Booking: Aamir Khan starrer sells 46,000 tickets in National Chains, looks at Rs 8 crore opening
Aamir Khan's much-awaited movie Sitaare Zameen Par is finally hitting cinemas in a couple of hours. The sports comedy drama, directed by RS Prasanna, recorded an average advance booking despite Khan's aggressive promotions. Sitaare Zameen Par sells 46,000 tickets in top national chains Bankrolled by Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par sold over 46,000 tickets in the top three national chains- PVR Inox and Cinepolis- for the opening day. Of this, a significant chunk of admissions were recorded at PVR Inox, while the remaining were sold at Cinepolis. It must be noted that these are estimated figures. As Sitaare Zameen Par is an Aamir Khan movie, the advance booking doesn't justify his stardom. However, one must note that the slice-of-life sports comedy genre is not much viable in the post-pandemic times, which means the fate of Sitaare Zameen Par will depend on its word-of-mouth. Sitaare Zameen Par targets Rs 8 crore opening Looking at the advance sales and buzz around the movie, the Aamir Khan starrer is expected to open with just Rs 8 crore net. It will be one of the lowest Aamir Khan openers in recent times. Though the film is marketed as a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par, it couldn't strike a chord with the audience with its promotional assets. Nevertheless, if the movie succeeds in impressing the audience, Sitaare Zameen Par will see an instant boost in its collections. Though the movie might start on a low note, it has the potential to jump over the weekend and sail through a successful theatrical run. It will be interesting to see how the sports drama performs at the box office. The movie marks the return of Aamir Khan to the screens after Laal Singh Chaddha, which was a box office debacle. 7 GTA 5 lines that still live in our head rent-free
(Image via Rockstar Games) If you've played GTA 5 , you know it's more than just mayhem, missions, and fast cars. The story hits deep. The characters? Wild, flawed, and brutally real. And the dialogue? Some of it has lived rent-free in our heads for years now. Whether it's pure chaos, emotional punches, or dark truths about the criminal world, here are 10 lines from GTA 5 that still give fans chills. 1. 'Surviving is winning, Franklin. Everything else is bulls***.' Michael straight-up drops this line when Franklin starts asking deeper questions. It's not just advice — it's a worldview. Cold, harsh, and honest. It tells you exactly who Michael is: a man who's lost so much, he's convinced himself that just breathing is enough. Grand Theft Auto V Lamar & Franklin Yee Yee haircut (GTA V PS3) 2. 'Maybe if you got rid of that yee-yee a** haircut…' No explanation needed. Lamar's roast of Franklin is iconic. It went viral, spawned memes, and is quoted more than any line in GTA history. Pure energy. Lamar might be a side character, but this moment made him immortal. 3. 'Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.' The first words of GTA 5. Soft, casual, and chilling . It starts light but hits hard once you realize Michael's running from his past, lying to himself, and dragging others down in the process. That's not a vacation — it's a ticking time bomb. 4. 'Hypocrisy, civilization's greatest virtue.' Michael says this with the tired wisdom of someone who's done it all . Robbed, lied, killed, retired — and still plays house like it's normal. He knows he's the villain but wears that truth like a badge. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tu Kia Sportage, por tiempo limitado KIA Undo A reminder that GTA doesn't pretend to be morally clean. 5. 'Yeah, whatever, dawg. It's either this or dealing dimebags…' Franklin accepts the game. He knows what's up. He's not delusional. This line shows he's not chasing a fantasy — he's just trying to level up in a world that won't let him play clean. That quiet acceptance? Lowkey heartbreaking. 6. 'You forget a thousand things every day, pal. Make sure this is one of 'em.' This isn't just Michael trying to be cool during a robbery — it's the line that brings Trevor back into the story. It's the spark that lights the powder keg. When Michael repeats it later during a job, Trevor hears it on the news... and the entire story flips. = 7. 'Then all of a sudden, your legs give in, and you just can't run no more.' Said right before Franklin pulls the trigger (if you choose to kill Michael). It's gut-wrenching. This one line captures regret, aging, and betrayal in one breath. Feels like someone just hit pause on your heart. GTA 5's dialogue wasn't just written; it was crafted . That's why we're still quoting it a decade later. It's raw, unfiltered, and iconic, just like the game itself. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. Watch Episode 1 here
