A FORMER Premier League star has netted £15 million after selling his stake in his health drink company.
Ex-Wales and West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu, 36, had founded The Turmeric Co. brand after saying shots of turmeric helped him battle injury setbacks.

He hailed the ginger plant as his "secret weapon", saying supplements of it saved his footballing career.
Now, his company Innate-Essence has sold its majority stake of 50.01 per cent to Irn-Bru makers AG Barr in a deal worth £15 million.
Among his praises for turmeric, Robson-Kanu said it had helped him to recover from a cruciate knee ligament rupture when he was just a teenager.
Following his recovery, he founded both The Turmeric Co. brand as well as Raw Hydrate.
The popular drinks are sold by Sainsbury's and Ocado as well as in David Lloyd sports clubs across the country.
Keeping him in touch with his footballing past, Premier League sides Everton and Brentford also sell the beverages.
Outside of football, Robson-Kanu's brands have partnerships with top rugby sides Sale Sharks and Leicester Tigers as well as British Gymnastics.
Robson-Kanu won 46 caps for Wales and scored in the historic 3-1 win against Belgium to put them into the semi finals of Euro 2016.
The ex-Prem player said: 'I created the brand as a convenient and great-tasting way to support wellness-conscious individuals and sportspeople like me.
'We've had a remarkable few years but with this latest milestone and such heavyweight backing, it feels like our journey is just beginning – we've unlocked a new level.

'The international potential is huge, and we can't wait to see what we achieve next.'
AG Barr said the investment was 'consistent with the company's strategy of acquisitions and innovation in highgrowth, health-focused, functional beverage categories'.
It added: 'The investment has been funded from the company's net cash position. It is not expected to have a significant impact on revenue or profit in the current financial year.'
In 2023, Robson-Kanu launched a campaign with Sainsbury's to promote his turmeric shots.
The star appeared in an advert pretending to be a Sainsbury's shop floor worker just two years after his career came to an end.
HOW ROBSON-KANU DISCOVERED TURMERIC 'GOLD'
Earlier in 2023, he also opened up about the reasons behind his business ventures.
After joining Reading's academy at the age of 15, Robson-Kanu suffered two severe injuries before breaking into the first team, both of which required surgery.
He was told by club doctors that he would likely never play without pain and restriction in his knee again, prompting him to take prescribed painkillers.
However, after these had an adverse effect on his body, the former Wales international turned to natural remedies.
He told The Reading Chronicle: "It was at that point where me and my dad basically went on a research binge. We began looking at natural ways to recover from pain, inflammation and swelling.
"We went to the library and scoured the internet. We looked at ancient Asian practices in eastern cultures where they would use natural remedies.
"What we began to find was these natural ingredients which kept recurring, like watermelon, pomegranate, pineapple, ginger and turmeric in the raw format."
The star said it was the raw ingredients that were key to having an impact on recovery and so he set out with his dad to source the ingredients for his magical blend.
While the taste didn't land at first, they eventually perfected the blend of "raw, natural ingredients" into a "golden elixir".
After adding more nutrients, micronutrients and macronutrients, Robson-Kanu said the "golden blend" was giving him a "real boost of energy".
Regular consumption helped him make progress and eventually the pain and inflammation in his knee subsided, giving him full flexibility once more.

The biggest roar of the night came just after the hour when 15-year-old Max Dowman was unleashed. Mikel Merino - 5 Didn't make much of an impact at all in midfield. Very quiet. Returned to the No9 position in the second half when Gyokeres went off. Ethan Nwaneri - 7 Very sharp in the first half when in control of the ball, taking on players and working well with Saka on the right. Gabriel Martinelli - 6 Looked sharp at the start of the match by making some direct runs down the left and some good crosses. Had a bit of a dip mid-first half but got the assist for Norgaard's goal. Viktor Gyokeres - 5 Had a very quiet evening. Had a few promising opportunities cutting inside from the left during the first half. Plenty of Arsenal's chances came from crosses - perhaps he would have done better had the ball been played directly to his feet. Still working his way back up to full match fitness. Martin Odegaard (for Gyokeres, 62) - 6 Scored the penalty which made it 3-2 by tucking his shot nicely into the bottom-right corner. Jurrien Timber (for Saliba, 62) - 5 Didn't get involved too much. Max Dowman (for Saka, 62) - 7 Got one of the biggest cheers of the evening as he was introduced to the home fans for the first time while making his way onto the pitch. Looked to make an impact from the off and came close with a low-driven chance cutting inside from the right. ARSENAL 2-3 VILLARREAL: Viktor Gyokeres' first Gunners start ended in dissappointmnet as Spanish side Villarreal picked up a morale-boosting win at the Emirates Arsenal were itching for their glitzy big-money signing to grab a goal - and after 17 minutes, Nicolas Pepe showed Viktor Gyokeres how it was done. The great irony of it all was that Pepe, considered one of the Gunners' biggest flops following his £72million switch from Lille, arguably looked sharper than Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian is facing a make-or-break campaign in north London and it's already clear the understanding between Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gyokeres will require time. That said, the former Sporting striker did show an early glimpse of what Mikel Arteta's side have been missing in recent seasons inside the opening 30 seconds. It did not end in a goal but there was a huge roar of anticipation when the bullish Swede burst into the box and attempted to square an early cutback. Not only is he 6ft 2' but the £63.7million frontman is square-shouldered and has pace to burn. Kai Havertz, who was a notable absentee against Villarreal, thrives in between the lines but if Gyokeres' Emirates debut is anything to go by; Arsenal fans can expect pure determination, power and a hunger to score goals. He pressed the Spaniards' backline and goalkeeper aggressively and did not afford them a moment's peace. But to get the best from Gyokeres, Arsenal will need to create him both chances and space. Here, he had neither. There were a few minor openings and one wild swing at an overhead kick but Villarreal's backline was camped inside their box. At times, it felt like the same old story as Martinelli continually ran down blind alleys. Villarreal were two goals to the good when Etta Eyong tapped home a second from close range. Christian Norgaard netted his first Arsenal goal with a back-post header from a corner before ex-Tottenham forward Arnaut Danjuma added a third for the visitors. Fifteen-year-old Max Dowman was spectacular upon entering the field on 60 minutes with his immaculate footwork and dribbling. He won a penalty converted by Martin Odegaard and already looks like a Premier League-ready star. His close control, deft touches and explosiveness was a breath of fresh air. He cannot play in the Champions League until his 16th birthday but we are likely to see him make his top-flight debut very soon. Arteta isn't afraid to hand Hale End gems minutes as Ethan Nwaneri made his Premier League bow at just 15 years and 181 days old. Dowman may not break that record but there is no shame in that. This kid is special and is going right to the very top. It's just a shame he plays in the same position as his idol Saka.
