There had been 28 'felt reports', according to Geoscience Australia.

Total fire ban issued for Top End regions as extreme conditions forecast
Update 3pm, Saturday: A 24-hour fire ban has been declared with extreme fire danger forecast across the Top End across the rest of the weekend. Bushfires NT and the NT Fire and Rescue Service have declared a fire ban period for Sunday spanning from midnight to midnight in Darwin, Palmerston, Coomalie and Litchfield. The rule valid from 12 midnight stipulates that no person should light or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the NT within the fire ban zone. Bushfires NT incident controller David Breadmore said extreme fire conditions were expected on Sunday across the Top End. 'With extreme fire danger forecast for Darwin, Palmerston, Coomalie and Litchfield this Sunday, conditions will be challenging and fire may be difficult to control,' he said. 'Low humidity, high temperatures, strong south-easterly winds and dry fuel loads mean fire can spread quickly and unpredictably. 'We urge everyone to be prepared, follow their Bushfire Survival Plan, and report any unattended fires to Triple Zero (000) immediately.' A fire is spreading on multiple fronts with effective containment strategies not yet in place for the entire perimeter to combat the blaze. Emergency services have warned that conditions are changing and people are urged to take action to protect their family and property. Ground and aerial crews are in attendance and for the safety of firefighting crews drivers are urged to slow down, turn on their headlights and drive safely for the conditions. Commuters are also warned to avoid the area if they can with smoke posing a risk to visibility while fire could creep on to the road. The current situation may continue until at least 3pm.

'Anyone else feel that?': Queensland magnitude-5.6 earthquake felt near Brisbane
Residents in southern Queensland have been rocked by a magnitude-5.6 earthquake on Saturday morning, with tremors felt all the way down to Brisbane. Homes shake across south-east Queensland as magnitude 5.6 earthquake strikes near Kilkivan
A magnitude 5.6 earthquake has struck near Kilkivan in regional Queensland, sending tremors through homes from Rockhampton in the north to Lismore in northern New South Wales. The quake, recorded at a depth of 10km by Geoscience Australia, hit just east of Murgon around 9.50am, with the tremor widely felt across a broad swathe of the state. In the hours following, more than 3,000 people logged reports with Geoscience Australia, describing homes shaking in Brisbane, Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Hervey Bay, and the Gold Coast. Brisbane alone registered over 1,000 shake reports, while 649 were made from Caboolture, and 634 from the Sunshine Coast region, including 78 from Maleny and more than 91 from the Gold Coast. Toowoomba recorded around 200 reports, with 66 in Kingaroy and 52 in Gympie. The tremor is believed to be the strongest in the Brisbane region in over a year, based on data from Earthquake Track, which monitors seismic activity above magnitude 1.5. Power outages were reported in the South Burnett and Fraser Coast areas, with approximately 10,000 homes affected, according to Ergon Energy. 'The loss of supply is due to damage requiring emergency repairs. Fault finding is in progress,' the energy provider said. Telephone services were also affected near the epicentre, with local businesses in Murgon unable to receive calls throughout the morning. Despite the disruption inland, Energex confirmed there were no unplanned outages in South East Queensland attributed to the seismic event. Geoscience Australia's 'felt map' showed the earthquake's reach extended hundreds of kilometres, with tremors reported in areas stretching from Rockhampton to Lismore. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that there is no tsunami threat to the Australian coastline. The earthquake is one of the largest recorded in the region in recent years, and while no injuries have been reported, emergency crews continue to assess the impact on infrastructure.
