Royal cufflinks spark unexpected moment
During the segment, Geoffrey was presented with a set of cufflinks and a brooch passed down through the guest's family. The items had originally belonged to her great-grandfather, who worked as a chef to Queen Victoria and Edward VII.
According to the guest, her ancestor had been gifted the jewels by various members of European royalty, including Tsar Nicholas II and Wilhelm II, during his time working at Sandringham and Buckingham Palace.
Geoffrey immediately noted the rarity of the pieces, describing the cufflinks as 'very, very Russian' and likely crafted using the samorodok technique, a style favoured by Fabergé. Though not confirmed to be from the famous house, he said they 'reeked' of the legendary jewellery firm.
A surprise Fabergé find
The real highlight came when the guest produced a brooch that had once been given by Tsar Nicholas II. Geoffrey confidently identified it as an authentic Fabergé piece due to the visible workmaster's initials, declaring it a 'full-blown Fabergé brooch'.
The guest appeared emotional as she reacted: 'Wonderful. Because I wondered and half hoped it would be and that's marvellous.'
Life-changing valuation
Geoffrey began with a modest estimate for the cufflinks, placing their value at around £8,000. He explained that although not confirmed to be Fabergé, their provenance and style made them highly desirable.
The cufflinks that had been turned into brooches were given a slightly higher valuation of around £9,000.
However, it was the valuation of the brooch that left both the guest and expert speechless.
After the guest guessed £10,000, Geoffrey replied: 'Well it is £10,000 and it's more than £10,000. It's £15,000.'
At this point, Geoffrey held the guest's hand and said: 'You feeling calm? This is very, very good isn't it? Making me nervous.'
The studio erupted in applause as the guest responded: 'My dear chap. Gosh. That's amazing. I never realised it would be as much as that, I must confess.'
A collection to treasure
Despite the significant valuation, the guest told Geoffrey she had no plans to sell the items. 'I don't really want to sell these,' she said. 'I want to keep them because they're family pieces.'
Geoffrey agreed, adding: 'I think in a way they should be kept together as a collection.'
Fans watching at home were equally moved by the exchange. Many praised Geoffrey for his kind manner and emotional sensitivity, with one viewer writing on X: 'Geoffrey Munn always handles these moments so well. What a lovely man.'
Another commented: 'You could see how much this meant to both of them. Antiques Roadshow at its best.'
Family ties to royalty
The items' connection to the Imperial Russian family and European monarchs made the valuation especially significant. Geoffrey pointed out the imperial cipher and historic craftsmanship as crucial factors in determining the brooch's worth.
The emotional moment served as a reminder of the rich stories often attached to family heirlooms.

‘Four kids from Aston' – Black Sabbath members bid farewell to Ozzy Osbourne
Black Sabbath bassist Terence 'Geezer' Butler has said he is 'so glad' the band reunited with Ozzy Osbourne one final time, just weeks before the singer's death at the age of 76. The music superstar's death was announced in a statement to the PA news agency saying he was 'with his family and surrounded by love'. In a post on Instagram, Butler paid tribute to his long-time bandmate and friend, reflecting on their final performance together during a farewell concert at Birmingham's Villa Park earlier this month. 'Thanks for all those years- we had some great fun. 4 kids from Aston- who'd have thought, eh?' he captioned an Instagram post. 'So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston. Love you.' The emotional tribute came as bandmates Bill Ward and Tony Iommi also expressed their grief. Iommi, the band's guitarist, said he was 'devastated' by the news. 'It's just such heartbreaking news that I can't really find the words, there won't ever be another like him,' he wrote on Instagram. 'Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother.' Where will I find you now? In the memories, our unspoken embraces, our missed phone calls, no, you're forever in my heart. Deepest condolences to Sharon and all family members. RIP Sincere regrets to all the fans. Never goodbye. Thank you forever. Bill Ward — Bill Ward (@billwarddrums) July 22, 2025 Ward, Black Sabbath's drummer, posted a photo of himself and Osbourne on X, writing: 'Where will I find you now? In the memories, our unspoken embraces, our missed phone calls… no, you're forever in my heart.' Earlier this month, Osbourne bid farewell to fans with a Black Sabbath reunion, telling thousands of heavy metal enthusiasts at Villa Park – a stone's throw from where the band was formed in 1968 – that it was 'so good to be on this stage' as he performed his last set from a large black throne. A family statement said: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.' Singer Yungblud, who performed Changes at the concert on July 5 with a recording of the live cover released for charity, paid tribute to Osbourne, calling him 'the greatest of all time'. Osbourne and his fellow original Black Sabbath members were the last to appear on stage as part of the star-studded line-up for the Back to the Beginning concert. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Geezer Butler (@geezerbutler) Bands including Anthrax, Metallica and Guns N' Roses were on the lineup, and there were messages of thanks from other celebrities including Jack Black, Ricky Gervais and Dolly Parton. In an Instagram post, the singer, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, shared photos of the moment he gave the late heavy metal singer a cross on a necklace, similar to the one Osbourne had previously given to him. He wrote: 'I didn't think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room. 'But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don't. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. 'Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough. You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all. 'I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.' Sir Elton John described Osbourne as a 'huge trailblazer' who 'secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods'. 'He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend,' Sir Elton wrote on Instagram, adding: 'He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love. Elton xx.' Osbourne's theatrical stage presence, including once biting off the head of a bat and styling himself as the Prince of Darkness, marked him out as a controversial figure. Born John Michael Osbourne on December 3 1948, in Aston, Birmingham, he left school at 15 and did odd jobs, including factory work, before teaming up with school friend Butler in several bands. Black Sabbath went on to become one of the most influential and successful metal bands of all time, selling more than 75 million albums worldwide. The group were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and Osbourne was added for a second time last year. He rose to further fame alongside his wife Sharon – whom he married in 1982 and with whom he has three children, Aimee, Jack and Kelly – through their MTV reality TV series The Osbournes. In 2020, Osbourne revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and he paused touring in 2023 after extensive spinal surgery. He had a fall at home in 2019, which aggravated injuries from a near-fatal quad bike crash in 2003, stopping his No More Tours 2 shows from going ahead in Europe and the UK. The tour had previously been rescheduled several times because of illness, the Covid-19 pandemic and logistical issues. He told Good Morning America in January 2020 that it was discovered he had the neurodegenerative disorder after a fall. He said: 'I did my last show New Year's Eve at The Forum. Then I had a bad fall. I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves and I found out that I have a mild form.' He and wife Sharon, who was also his manager, met when she was 18 and they married on July 4 1982 in Hawaii. Daughter Kelly, 40, duetted with her father on the UK number one single Changes in 2003. He released his 12th studio album Ordinary Man in 2020, followed by Patient Number 9 in 2022, which went to number three and two in the UK charts, respectively.

Ozzy Osbourne mourned by Tony Iommi, Elton John, Marilyn Manson and more
A wide range of rock stars paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne on Tuesday after learning the former Black Sabbath frontman died at 76, just over two weeks after playing a farewell show in his native England. Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi expressed his grief on X. 'I just can't believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park,' he wrote. 'It's just such heartbreaking news that I can't really find the words. There won't ever be another like him.' Fellow Brit Elton John said he would miss his friend dearly and sent his love to Osbourne's family. 'He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods — a true legend,' John wrote in an Instagram post calling Osbourne 'one of the funniest people I've ever met.' English singer-songwriter YUNGBLUD, who performed at Black Sabbath's final show on July 5 in Birmingham, expressed his shock that Osbourne had died after seeming so full of life just weeks ago. 'I will never forget you — you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk onstage,' he wrote. 'You took us on your adventure — an adventure that started it all. I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.' Marilyn Manson, who was clearly influenced by Osbourne's theatrics, honored his friend as a 'genuine hero and inspiration.' 'It was one of the greatest privileges in my life to have known him as a friend,' Manson wrote on Instagram. 'His beautiful spirit will remain in my heart forever.' Sammy Hagar, former lead singer of Van Halen, remembered his 'brother' as a 'one-of-a-kind true rock legend.' 'For him to have been that close to death on July 5 and still get up there and perform like he promised… Wow! That puts him in a category of his own,' Hagar wrote. Metallica, who introduced Black Sabbath when they were inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, posted a photo of themselves with Osbourne accompanied by a broken heart emoji. Nancy Sinatra, Jack White, Travis Barker, and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones were also among the many paying tribute to Osbourne online. The cause of Osbourne's death on Tuesday wasn't immediately released, though the 'Crazy Train' singer revealed in 2020 that he was battling Parkinson's disease. At his farewell concert earlier this month, Osbourne performed from a chair because he was unable to stand, but his voice and charisma were as strong as ever.

Ted Lasso season 4: Everything you need to know about Apple TV+ show
After much speculation about whether it would be returning, Ted Lasso is officially filming its fourth season. The show, which seemed to wrap up at the end of season 3, is now back for more, and many of the show's main cast members are set to return for this new season. While it's been a couple of years since we've heard from Ted and the gang, many people are naturally wondering what might be different about this new season and when we'll get a chance to see it. Here's everything you need to know about the new season based on what's out there now. Is there definitely a new season of Ted Lasso? Although it was only a rumor for a long time, we now know for sure that Ted Lasso will be back for a fourth season. On July 21, Apple TV+ announced that production on the show had begun. The production also shared our first look at season 4, an image of Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins), Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), and Jason Sudeikis's Ted Lasso sitting at what looks like an American diner. Recommended Videos In March, Apple announced that the show would return after months of speculation. 'As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to 'look before we leap,'' Sudeikis said in a press release at the time. 'In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to 'leap before they look,' discovering that wherever they land, it's exactly where they're meant to be.' What seems clear, though, is that Sudeikis and the rest of the creative team behind the show were unsure whether the show would be back after season 3. Part of the reason it took so long to get a season 4 is that this show is a little bit of a soft reboot. It's technically season 4, but the show now has a new premise, and not all of the cast from the first three seasons will be back. Who is in the cast for Ted Lasso season 4? In addition to the four cast members who appear in the image, we know that Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) will return for the new season. Apple also announced that Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern will all be joining the show in roles that have yet to be disclosed. Grant Feely is also replacing Gus Turner as Ted's son. Where will the new season take place? Through its first three seasons, Ted Lasso took place entirely in the U.K., but it seems the show is shifting gears, at least to some extent, for season 4. Filming commenced in Kansas City, Missouri, which is Sudeikis's hometown and also happens to be Ted's. The production did clarify, though, that some additional photography would take place in London, so it seems the show is not abandoning its U.K. setting completely. As you might remember, Ted returned home to coach his son's soccer team at the end of season 3, and it seems season 4 will pick up with Ted back in Kansas City. What will the plot of season 4 be? According to a synopsis for the new season, Ted will be returning to the United Kingdom yet again, and this time, he'll be coaching a women's soccer team. 'Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team,' the show's synopsis explains. 'Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.' It would seem that this is the team that Keeley proposed to Rebecca at the end of the show's third season. When is the release date for Ted Lasso season 4? We don't yet know when Ted Lasso will debut, but given that the show has just started filming, it likely won't be on the air until 2026 at the earliest. That would be three years after the last season, which is a long time, but not unprecedented in the era of streaming television. Still, this is a slightly unusual situation because of the uncertainty after season 3. In the end, the show's popularity was too great to ignore. Is there a trailer for Ted Lasso season 4 yet? Given that production on the season just started, we don't yet have a trailer for the new season. It will likely be several months before we get anything besides images from the set, because Apple won't want to produce a trailer until there's plenty of footage to choose from. In place of a trailer, Apple released a brief clip of Ted, Keely, Rebecca, and Higgins eating at a booth to announce the start of production on season 4.
