David Beckham gives update on 'heartbroken' Victoria amid bitter family feud
David Beckham has made a shock remark about his 50th birthday celebrations, where his son Brooklyn was notably absent. The former footballer made the comments during a surprise meeting with King Charles
David Beckham has spoken out about the 50th birthday celebrations at the heart of a simmering feud with his son Brooklyn.
The footballer legend made the revealing comments about his birthday bash during a surprise meeting with King Charles at the Chelsea Flower Show today, where the pair teased an upcoming project together.
Beckham, wearing a new pale pink rose named in honour of the monarch, looked delighted to see Charles and Queen Camilla at the Highgrove Shop stand, where all proceeds go towards the work of The King's Foundation, for which Mr Beckham has acted as an ambassador for a year.
Beckham went on to discuss his recent 50th birthday celebrations, with Camilla asking about his fashion designer wife Victoria, who she met in March when hosting a reception to mark the 15th anniversary of Women of the World (WOW), an organisation which promotes gender equality worldwide.
Giving the royal couple an update on his wife, he said: "She's doing very well. I had a busy weekend this weekend, so it was a lot of fun, a lot of fun." And appearing to reference his 50 year milestone, he jokingly added: "I know, finally!"
The King and Queen are understood to have sent Beckham a birthday gift, with Charles asking him "You got it, didn't you?" And Beckham replied: "It was incredible, thank you, it was very kind." Later Camilla said: "Nice to see you again, glad you got the roses."
The meet up comes just days after it emerged the King's estranged son Prince Harry and David's oldest child Brooklyn met at a dinner party amid a difficult fall-out between the Beckhams. It is believed that Harry and wife Meghan hosted Brooklyn and his wife Nicola at their Montecito mansion just days after Brooklyn skipped his dad David's 50th birthday celebrations amid a family row.
And with Harry also at loggerheads with his father, King Charles and brother Prince William, he was reportedly able to offer his support to Brooklyn, who has become distant from his parents.
It comes as 'heartbroken' Victoria Beckham reached out to Brooklyn Beckham on social media earlier today. The former Spice Girls member shared a message for her son as the family rift continues.
Victoria, 51, shared an update with fans on her Instagram Story this morning. The post included a family photo that showed the four children she shares with David Beckham, 50, alongside her parents Tony Adams and Jackie Adams.
The couple were seen beside their grandchildren Brooklyn, 26, Romeo Beckham, 22, Cruz Beckham, 20, and Harper Beckham, 13, in the photo posted by Victoria. She tagged her mother and her three sons in the caption of the post.
Alongside the photo, Victoria expressed her love for her parents and her kids in the caption. In a message seemingly on behalf of herself and her husband David, she wrote: "We both love you all so much". She included a heart emoji.

The 26-year-old, who lives in LA with wife Nicola Peltz, 30, has no desire to speak to his parents or siblings after only learning about his dad's knighthood in the press, an insider has told Page Six. The sourced said: "Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he's not responding to those that try to connect.' However, a source close to Brooklyn denied this and said, "this seems to be another deliberate attempt to misrepresent the truth, and it only serves to distract from this honor being bestowed on Brooklyn's father." The Sun has contacted representatives for Brooklyn and the Beckhams for comment. England legend David will be knighted as part of King Charles' birthday honours. Peltz-Beckham's respond to reports of family feud It's a title he has coveted for some time and it means Victoria will be come Lady Beckham. David was first put forward for a knighthood in 2011 after helping to secure the London 2012 Olympics. His finances were cleared by the taxman at least four years ago - paving the way for him to finally get the coveted honour. Just weeks ago we revealed how David and Victoria feel there might be no way to reconcile with their eldest child. Brooklyn, who was a no-show at David's star-studded 50th birthday celebrations last month, shared a video of himself and Nicola riding on his motorbike and wrote: 'My whole world. I will love you forever. I always choose you baby.' Those close to the Beckhams said the message seemed 'very pointed'. Tensions became public when Brooklyn did not publicly acknowledge fashion designer Victoria, 51, on Mother's Day. He then failed to show at any of David's 50th birthday parties. It comes after the Beckham family feud was blown open last month when Brooklyn, 26, missed all of David's 50th birthday celebrations. A source said: 'It's one thing after another for Brooklyn. "First his row with his dad blows up — and now he's got another Beck's looking like it's going to become a bit of a headache.' Advertisement Brooklyn applied in January to use the name 'Becks Buns' within his Buster Hot Sauce Inc company. However, the beer's German parent firm Brauerei Beck & Co has opposed it and been granted an extension until next month to file documents. The company is part of alcohol giant AB InBev, which produces one in four lagers sold worldwide, including Stella Artois and Budweiser as well as Beck's. Brooklyn launched his first hot sauce, Cloud 23, last year and said: 'It's been a passion project of mine for the last 2½ years, something I've literally put everything into. I've never worked so hard on anything in my life.' Advertisement His parents attended the launch event in LA. However, insiders said their relationship has 'never been more fractured'. Those close to Brooklyn — who is married to US actress Nicola Peltz, 30 — insist he made a private attempt to meet his dad ahead of his 50th. But that was vehemently denied by sources close to the former England captain. Advertisement It was also claimed Nicola, who has been accused of 'controlling' her husband, had hired a PR guru. Those close to her believe she is being 'unfairly blamed' for the issues. KICK? NO HE'LL EDIT FOOTIE icon David Beckham is to guest edit Country Life mag in October. David Beckham to guest edit edition of Country Life Magazine
The former England captain and businessman will join the editorial team for the October 22 edition of the magazine with the aim of celebrating what the countryside means to him and his family. He follows in the footsteps of Royal Family members who previously joined the editor-in chief Mark Hedges at the helm, including the King, the Princess Royal and the Queen. Beckham said: 'I am honoured to have been invited to guest edit an edition of a magazine that I have always admired and read. 'I am really looking forward to working with the editorial team to produce an issue that will celebrate what the countryside and the great British landscape means to me and my family.' This comes as Beckham is to be awarded a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours, according to reports by The Sun. The football star regularly documents his life in the countryside by posting pictures and videos on his Instagram including him harvesting vegetables, gardening and his flock of chickens. Mark Hedges, Country Life editor-in-chief, said: 'I know he has a deep love of the countryside, which has grown since he retired as a professional footballer, although he is, of course, still extremely busy as a businessman and an ambassador for a host of causes, such as Unicef and The King's Foundation, as well as being co-owner of Inter Miami CF in the US and Salford City Football Club in the UK. 'As someone who is passionate about the countryside, I'm excited to see what his special commemorative issue will bring.' The one-off edition aims to highlight how the countryside has played an important part in Beckham's life. It will feature his favourite view, his best-loved recipe and spotlight his rural champions, including the craftsmen and woman who helped shape his home in the Cotswolds. Beckham, who played for his country 115 times, is the only Englishman to score at three different World Cups and his career included the treble-winning campaign of 1998-99, when Manchester United won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. He earned the third highest number of England caps of all time for the men's team, and was captain on 59 occasions. The former winger married Spice Girl Victoria, also known as Posh Spice, in 1999.
