CA kills self using helium gas in New Delhi hotel; felt lonely
According to a note he left behind, Dheeraj Kansal was alone since his father died in 2003. After his father's death, his mother married someone else, and he had no siblings.
Kansal, who lived in a paying guest house in Mehrauli, also wrote about his suicide on social media. The suicide note, written in English, was recovered from his left pocket.
'I am writing a suicide note in case if you didn't see my post on social media in case someone deletes my post. I am going away, and no one should be held responsible for this," he wrote.
Kansal had checked into a guest house near Janpath on July 28.
When staff noticed his room was locked from inside for an extended period, they alerted the police.
A team from the Barakhamba Police Station broke open the door, and found a helium gas cylinder connected to three plastic pipes, an officer said.
'The saddest part of my life was my birth; death is the most beautiful part of my life. If you're reading this, I'm already gone. I wasn't deeply connected to anyone, nor was anyone to me. There's no reason, no regret, and no complaint," the note read.
Kansal's body was received by his uncle and cousins.
The officer said helium inhalation is highly fatal for it leads to a lack of oxygen in the body. PTI SSJ VN VN

Bangladeshi criminal hiding under guise of sadhu in Bengal held
Last Updated: Kolkata, Aug 3 (PTI) A Bangladeshi criminal, who had entered India and had been hiding in West Bengal under the guise of a monk, was arrested from Nadia district, police said on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of the West Bengal STF, along with the local police, conducted a raid in the Tehatta area on Saturday night and apprehended 60-year-old Mohammed Hashem Mallik, also known as Hashem Ali Mallik, who was wanted in several cases in Bangladesh, an officer said. Based on a complaint lodged by Sub-Inspector Mohammed Abdun Noor Chowdhury of the West Bengal Special Task Force, an investigation was started, he said. 'Hashem was allegedly involved in heinous crimes in Bangladesh. He created a fake Indian identity and had been hiding in Baliura Purba Para in Tehatta. We had information about him. With the help of local police, we conducted a raid and arrested him on Saturday evening," the officer said. The accused was apprehended after he failed to produce valid identity documents to prove himself as an Indian, the police said. 'During preliminary interrogation, the Bangladeshi criminal admitted that he had crossed the border to escape legal proceedings in Bangladesh for the crimes he committed there," the officer said, adding that he also confessed to having forged Indian identity documents. Second accused arrested in Gurugram scrap dealers murder
Agency: Last Updated: Gurugram, Aug 3 (PTI) Gurugram Police on Sunday arrested a second accused in the case where a 40-year-old scrap dealer was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner in DLF Phase 3. The arrested accused — Vijay alias Sethi (47), a resident of Baliawas village and a friend of the deceased Harish Sharma — was present at the scene of crime, police said. Sharma's live-in partner Yashmeet Kaur (27) was arrested on Saturday. Both the accused were produced before a duty magistrate court on Sunday and remanded to two-day police custody, they said. Meanwhile, in a complaint filed with the police, Sharma's nephew Bharat said that his uncle had come home and collected Rs 7 lakh from him hours before the incident and left with Vijay in a car. According to a senior investigating officer, Vijay was present in the house when Kaur stabbed Sharma on his chest. He might have played a bigger role in the murder conspiracy, the officer said. 'Vijay's role is not clear yet, but he was present at the scene. We are questioning both the accused," said a Gurugram Police spokesperson. According to police, Sharma, a resident of Baliawas village in Gurugram, had been in a live-in relationship with Kaur for more than a year and the couple lived in a rented flat. Sharma was married and had two daughters, who lived with his wife in the village. His wife was not keeping well for some time and Sharma would often talk to her, which infuriated Kaur, police said. On Saturday night, Kaur walked in on Sharma conversing with his wife, and the couple had a heated argument. In a fit of rage, Kaur stabbed Sharma in the chest with a kitchen knife. He was taken to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival, said police. Sharma's friend Vijay was allegedly present in another room in the house when the incident happened, they said. In his complaint, Sharma's nephew Bharat alleged that both Kaur and Vijay planned the murder. Bharat stated that hours before the altercation, his uncle had come home from his job in Faridabad, took Rs 7 lakh from him and left in a car Vijay had brought. Police said that Kaur, a resident of Ashok Vihar in Delhi, has confessed to stabbing Sharma. The murder weapon and a blood-stained T-shirt were seized from the flat, they added. Eviction drive clears 1,000 bighas of forest land from encroachment in Assam
Last Updated: Golaghat (Assam), Aug 3 (PTI) The Assam government on Sunday carried out an eviction drive to clear alleged encroachment from nearly 1,000 bighas (over 133 hectares) of forest land, displacing more than 350 families, in Golaghat district. A day after completing the five-day long first phase of a massive eviction drive to clear alleged encroachments from almost 11,000 bighas (nearly 1,500 hectares) of forest land in Rengma Reserve Forest, the administration began a similar drive inside Nambor South Reserve Forest. 'Encroached areas in Gelajan and No. 3 Rajapukhuri were cleared during the day, with over 350 households evicted and nearly 1,000 bighas of forest land reclaimed. The eviction drive was carried out peacefully, without any resistance, reflecting the coordinated planning and execution by the authorities on the ground," an official release said. Senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary (Forest) M K Yadav, Golaghat District Commissioner Pulak Mahanta and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh, were present to oversee the operation so that it proceeded in a lawful and orderly manner. 'This eviction initiative forms part of a broader ecological restoration strategy aimed at reclaiming forest land from illegal encroachment. With significant progress made today, the drive is set to continue in the days ahead, reinforcing the state's commitment to protecting its vital forest ecosystems," the statement said. The ongoing eviction initiative was led by the Assam Forest Department in coordination with the Golaghat District Administration, Assam Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Government of Nagaland. At Rengma Reserve Forest in Uriamghat along the Assam-Nagaland border in Sarupathar sub-division, the eviction drive displaced around 1,500 families, mostly from the Muslim community. Besides, 205 households in the Negheribil area under Merapani, located within the Doyang Reserve Forest, have also been served eviction notices.
