Curly Culture and Society 18 Form Strategic Partnership to Elevate Natural Hair Creators

The partnership will feature its first activation at this year's CurlyCon LA on March 22, where Society 18 creators will participate in a dedicated Creator Lounge that offers attendees opportunities to connect with diverse beauty influencers, including Alyssa Marie and Yanina Oyarzo. With a collective reach exceeding 20 million, both organizations will create new monetization opportunities for creators while offering brands expanded access to authentic voices in the beauty space. Beyond CurlyCon LA, the companies will team up to fuel additional activations throughout the year, providing Society 18's roster of creators with speaking, hosting, and content creation opportunities.

‘I was ready to cause some mayhem if I stayed' — Adrian reflects on his emotional ‘Big Brother' eviction
The following interview contains spoilers. Read at your own risk! Adrian Rocha's Big Brother journey came to an emotional end on Thursday night. The 23-year-old carpenter from San Antonio was evicted in an 8-4 vote over Will Williams, following Lauren Domingue's reign as Head of Household. His exit sparked an outpouring of tears from several houseguests, including Will and Ava Pearl — who had played a key role in orchestrating his eviction. "I feel a little bit better today. I get to see my family soon, so I'm happy about that. It's just disappointing because I had so much game to play. I had some of the best strategies for some of the most iconic comps, and I was ready!" Adrian had, quite literally, been training for his Big Brother experience for years — even building replicas of the show's famous competitions to practice with in his backyard. One comp in particular, the infamous wall endurance challenge, was his dream to conquer. "I wanted that wall comp so bad," he says. "I trained so much for it. There's a lot more strategy involved than people think. It's a lot of shoulders, a lot of forearms, but it's also about knowing how to rest and how to shift your weight. I even trained to rest while the wall was at a full slant. I figured out how to shift weight to give my forearms a break. It stinks that I didn't get the chance." Once Kelley Jorgensen won the BB Blockbuster and left Adrian on the block next to Will, Adrian says he knew his fate was likely sealed. The moment was especially tough because he felt betrayed by Zach Cornell and Vince Panaro, who chose to side with the majority rather than force a tie-breaker — a move that would have left the final decision in Lauren's hands. "I was ready to cause some mayhem if I stayed," Adrian admits. "That was the hardest part — knowing I had so much more to give." Despite his disappointment, Adrian is reflecting on missed opportunities with gratitude for the overall experience. He shared that he still harbors frustration toward Lauren's turbulent week as HOH, and he opens up about unresolved rivalries, his ideal final two partner, and his take on Mickey Lee snagging the HOH title from Rylie Jeffries' hands. Read on for our full interview with Adrian. Gold Derby: Lauren seemed like she hated every second of her HOH — there were a lot of tears and regret. Do you think she regrets winning HOH this early in the game? Adrian: I think she does regret it. I told her, "Who you put up is going to send one of us home." I told her I'd have her back and wouldn't put her up, and I meant that. Same with Kelley. I knew she was close to Kelley, but Lauren was scared to get blood on her hands, so she took the safe route. She did what the house wanted and put up easy targets. In the short term, that keeps her safe, but long-term, I don't think it was good for her game. You told Julie Chen Moonves that Rachel was your number one target. Knowing what you know now, do you still feel that way? Why wouldn't Lauren be on your list? She clearly found you disposable. Lauren was on my list, but she was too big a target. If I put her up, I didn't know if I could get the votes to send her out. If she was on the block against Rachel, people might've kept Rachel because they're using her as a shield. They don't think she can win because she's won before. I thought about using Lauren as a pawn, but being mad at her wouldn't have been strategic. I needed her to break a potential tie to save me. Rachel was my target because I didn't trust her, and we didn't have a strong connection. I knew she'd vote with the house over me. After Rachel, I probably would've gone for Morgan Pope or Keanu Soto — Keanu because the house wanted him on the block, and he could take himself off if needed. My goal was to keep people who'd vote my way. There's so much emotion in this house. Will could barely finish his speech last night; Ava was sobbing when you left. Why is it so emotional? You grow close to people. It feels like friends or family, not just people you see on TV. When you're in there, the game feels real, and loyalty matters. I told everyone I'd play an honest, loyal game, so seeing tears from people like Will and Ava hit hard. But I was too big of a threat — especially being paired up with Kelley and Keanu. Who were you loyal to? Who did you want to go to the end with? I wanted to go to the end with Zach. I like working with strong players. He didn't vote with me, but I respected him as a competitor. If not Zach, I would've taken Kelley. She was loyal, and I trusted her. But as much as I cared about her, I knew Kelley might've been voted out before the end. Ideally, Zach would've been my final two, but I hoped someone might take him out as a bigger target before then. If it came to it, I'd pick someone at the end who I could beat, like Ava or Will. Rylie won HOH last night, but Mickey invoked her power and became HOH instead. You were suspicious of Mickey; what tipped you off? How do you see this week playing out? Fudge! Man, that's tough. I hope Mickey doesn't put up people like Katherine or Rylie — though she might. She might take a shot at Zach or Vince. Probably not Vince, though, since I think they're working together. Mickey has options, and she won't hesitate to make a move. As for her power, I pieced it together step by step. I eliminated people who couldn't have it based on the comp and their behavior. Katherine said she didn't have it, and I believed her — her body language felt honest. Lauren and Rachel didn't seem like they had it either. That left Ashley and Mickey. Between the two of them, Mickey made the most sense. When Mickey kept bringing up jury votes, I knew something was up — her power had to involve the jury phase. The final piece was Zach. He told me he heard Mickey next to him during the competition. That sealed it. Quick last question: Who do you want to win? Kelley! This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
