Nearly 400 passionate Manchester United fans came together for United Malaysia's 7th Annual Dinner and Charity Gala – an annual celebration of unity, passion, and purpose.
This year's event was hosted by Kuala Lumpur Mancunian Red Devils (KLMRD) which
took place on 12th July 2025 at Sunway Resort Hotel.
Held under the theme 'United Unites, Together We Thrive', the event embodied the club's vision that 'United & Football is Above Everything Else.'
The night saw overwhelming support from attendees, fellow supporter clubs, and special guests. Among the special guests present were Persatuan Sindrom Down Malaysia (PSDM) president Hanizan Hussin, National hockey legend Dato' Mirnawan Nawawi and Celebrity Stand-up comedian Kavin J.
'Charity is part of United's DNA,' said Anderson Tan, KLMRD President. 'We make it a point to select a different NGO every year to support, and this year we were honoured to stand with PSDM.
'As long as there's a need, we'll be there – volunteering, contributing, and standing with our community.'
Seven deserving members were announced as recipients of an all-expense-paid trip to Old Trafford, the iconic home of Manchester United.
Four were chosen from a raffle draw, while the remaining three deserving members were chosen by the respective clubs itself. For some, this marks their first-ever visit to the Theatre of Dreams – a lifelong dream finally fulfilled.

Mexico's Chicharito apologises after sexist remarks spark outrage and fine

MEXICO CITY, July 25 — Mexican football icon Javier Hernandez apologised yesterday for making sexist remarks which led to him being sanctioned by Mexico's football federation and his club Guadalajara. Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Hernandez, 37, triggered uproar after comments in a TikTok video in which he accused women of 'failing' and 'eradicating masculinity'. 'Embody your feminine energy by caring, nurturing, giving life, cleaning and supporting the home,' Hernandez said in the video. 'Don't be afraid to be women, to allow yourselves to be led by a man who only wants one thing: to see you happy.' The comments prompted an outcry from Mexican football authorities while Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum also weighed in on Wednesday, denouncing Hernandez's remarks as representing a 'very macho idea' of women. Sheinbaum added that while Hernandez—affectionately known as 'Chicharito (little pea)'—was a 'great footballer', he still 'had a lot to learn'. The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) said Hernandez's comments 'promote sexist stereotypes and go against gender equality in sport', describing the remarks as a form of 'media violence'. The federation said it had imposed a fine and given Hernandez a warning about the comments. In a statement posted on Instagram on Thursday, Hernandez expressed regret for the remarks. 'I deeply regret any confusion or discomfort my recent comments may have caused,' Hernandez wrote in a post. 'It was never my intention to mock, hurt, or divide... I listen, I reflect, and I commit to expressing myself with greater clarity and sensitivity, especially on such sensitive issues.' Hernandez is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers in Mexican history, scoring 59 goals in 157 appearances for Manchester United before stints at Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham, Sevilla and Los Angeles Galaxy. — AFP

Mbeumo thrilled to emulate Ronaldo at ‘biggest club in the world' MU

Bryan Mbeumo scored 20 Premier League goals for Brentford last season. (AFP pic) LONDON : Bryan Mbeumo says he is excited to be following in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps at the 'biggest club in the world' after signing for Manchester United. After weeks of drawn-out talks, the 25-year-old finally completed his move from Brentford yesterday for £65 million plus a potential £6 million in add-ons. The forward has signed a deal with the 'club of my dreams' until 2030, with the option of a further season. 'From the start I wanted to join this club, this massive club, and now I'm here and I'm just really happy,' the Cameroon international told club media today. 'For me, it's the biggest club in the world, in England as well. I think the fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and I think every player wants to play here. 'I think my first top was a Manchester United top with Ronaldo behind. It's just such a big club and I'm really happy to be here.' Mbeumo is manager Ruben Amorim's third signing of the summer transfer window after the arrivals of forward Matheus Cunha and leftback Diego Leon. The right winger, who scored 20 Premier League goals for Brentford last season, has been signed to boost United's firepower. The team managed a paltry 44 goals in 38 Premier League matches last season as they finished an embarrassing 15th in the table. Mbeumo played at Brentford under Thomas Frank, who has since moved on to Tottenham, and he believes Amorim has a similar approach. 'I think they have similar values,' he said. 'He seems really close to his players and his mentality, his winning thinking every time. This is a thing that I need. 'It seems to be a really good group. I think the spirit is really important for winning and with the gaffer I heard only good things about the team.' United head to the US for their pre-season tour today. Their first Premier League game of the season is at home to Arsenal on Aug 17.
