Shannon Leishman will leave Hibernian Women this summer after over a decade of service

Shannon Leishman will leave Hibernian Women this summer after over a decade of service with the Club.
A lifelong Hibs fan and an Academy graduate, Leishman bids farewell to Hibs after 11 successful years and over 150 appearances in Green and White.
A Musselburgh native, 'Leishy' spent much of her childhood at Easter Road cheering on Hibs from the Famous Five Stand while moulding her own pathway to becoming a professional footballer.
Leishman began training with the First Team at Hibs Women prior to turning 16 years old, before making her senior debut in 2014 against Rangers.
A dedicated professional and consistent performer, Leishman has appeared 171 times for the Club, scoring 11 goals, and has won four domestic cups with the Club.
The 28-year-old has also played UEFA Women's Champions League football with her childhood club. Making her continental debut in a 5-0 win over Swansea City in August 2017, Leishy would go on to perform in Europe at her beloved Easter Road on multiple occasions.
Leishman also departs with a league winners' medal after making nine appearances for Hibs before spending the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Motherwell, where she helped guide the K-Park club to their first-ever Top Six finish and the Scottish Cup Semi-Finals.
On Leishman's departure, Hibs Women head coach Grant Scott said: 'Shannon has been a dedicated servant to Hibernian over the past 11 years.
'Coming through our Academy, Shannon has from a young age always set an example for others to follow and her commitment to being the ultimate professional has helped us to many successes over the years.
'More than all of that, she's a great person whose presence will be missed. We thank her for her contributions and wish her all the best for the future.'
She leaves Meadowbank Stadium with the best wishes of everybody at Hibernian FC, and the Club would like to place on record its immense gratitude for her outstanding service and commitment to the Club.

Kathleen McGovern named ScottishPower Women's Premier League Player of the Month for May

Hibernian Women's striker Kathleen McGovern has been named the ScottishPower Women's Premier League Player of the Month for May. After winning the award for the first time in December 2024 and earning it once more in April, this is now McGovern's third Player of the Month award of the 2024/25 campaign. The 22-year-old has had an incredible season for the Hibs, with her 25 goals and two assists in the league crucial to the ScottishPower Women's Premier League title success. This excellent goalscoring form carried into the most important games of the season, as McGovern netted five times in four games during Hibs final run-in. An Edinburgh Derby brace at Oriam to defeat city rivals Hearts was promptly followed up by a vital finish against title challengers Glasgow City at Meadowbank Stadium. A second brace of the month for the number 10 was sealed in the final home match of the season, as Hibs sealed a pivotal 4-2 victory over Celtic leading into the final matchday. While not on the scoresheet against Rangers at Ibrox as the Hibs clinched the league title, McGovern was at hand to provide the all-important assist for Linzi Taylor's title-clinching strike. Six goal contributions across May 2025 – consisting of five goals and the most important assist of the entire campaign – has earned McGovern a first-ever Scotland 'A' Squad call-up. Including Abbie Ferguson and Eilidh Adams' respesctive award wins, Hibernian FC Women players have made up 50% of all winners of the SWPL Player of the Month prize this season after previously going two seasons without a single award. Lotto winner Jane Park makes cheeky jibe as Robbie Williams song choice divides crowd

More info Robbie Williams' impromptu performance of an Edinburgh football club's anthem received a mixed reaction from the crowd at Murrayfield on Saturday night. As well as performing his biggest hits during the first leg of his Britpop tour, he decided to ditch the stage and head towards some unsuspecting members of the crowd mid-performance. At one point, Robbie, dressed in pink, appeared to serenade one fortunate fan by touching her on the shoulder and encouraging the crowd to join in. However, the song in question was Sunshine on Leith by The Proclaimers - an iconic tune associated with Hibs and the club's fans. Many were quick to point out on social media how Robbie decided to sing that particular song while performing in the west of the city and near Tynecastle - the home of Hibs' city rivals Hearts. One well-known Hibs fan who couldn't resist posting a video of the rendition was Edinburgh EuroMillions winner Jane Park. She wrote on X: "Robbie Williams singing sunshine on Leith over in Gorgie," along with a laughing face emoji and green love heart. Once finished singing Robbie said: "Now there's two things here. One is I think that's a better song than You'll Never Walk Alone and the other thing is why don't Heart of Midlothian boo that song? I don't get it?" He added: "Are you here Hearts?" to which cheers can be heard from the crowd before Robbie quickly shuts down all talk of football rivalry by quipping: "Ok that's enough of that s**t."

13 ex Hibs players poised for free agency as it stands including cup hero

After a difficult start in club icon David Gray's first stint as permanent head coach, the team rallied and embarked on a fantastic run which ended with them third in the league. They are now looking to the transfer market to strengthen their ranks ahead of Europa League qualifiers, which will begin in July before their defence of third spot kicks off. It won't just be Hibs on the prowl for moves though. There are former players of the club who could also be in search of fresh clubs this summer as free agents with terms ticking down. Looking at players who have contracts expiring in June - with some in talks over extensions - here are some of the ex Hibees who could become available as it stands should nothing be agreed with their current sides.
