Karl Stefanovic's neighbours share concerns after renovations at the Today star's $4.5million luxury mansion in Sydney were approved
Neighbours of Nine's Karl Stefanovic have weighed in on the Today star's latest real estate win.
The breakfast host, 50, and his shoe designer wife, Jasmine, 40, have had new plans approved in for their $4.5million luxury mansion on Sydney 's north shore.
And nearby residents have had their say about the ruling in the Land and Environment court on Wednesday, which approved a modified design for the home which will now feature two levels, as opposed to the plan that included four storeys.
'We are worried about foundational cracks to our homes from all the vibrations from the drilling,' a female neighbour to the building site told news.com.au on Monday.
The spoke of further concerns, saying, 'there is also a deep drop to the site and only a short fence… so if there are young kids around I think it could be dangerous.'
The couple had set out to knock down the original 1960s home on the block in upscale Castlecrag, 9km from the CBD, to build a four level sprawl with five bedrooms.
Still, according to the report, other residents close by the Stefanvoics' new build appeared to be supportive but did not want to make any specific comments.
Stefanovic and his wife purchased the property for $3.2million in 2021.
In March, 2024, the couple finally got the approval from Willoughby Council to move forward with their renovation after a lengthy wrangle of their original development application (DA) that lasted a year.
The celebrity couple's legal team stated that the renovation 'generally complied' with the planning laws set out by Willoughby Council.
However, it did not comply with floor plan space ratio controls consistent with local planning regulations.
The original application revealed that the couple's plans included creating 102 square metres of living space below ground level.
Originally built in the 1960s, the old home, which has now been knocked down completely, had views over Castlecrag's north escarpment.
A designer image shows the finished property will feature a stunning contemporary design, spacious surroundings, French windows and an indoor circular staircase.
It will also boast a stylish outdoor dining terrace with adjacent stairs and a host of gorgeous architectural touches, including high ceilings and slanted windows.
In December Karl informed his Instagram followers that demolition work had started on the site.
Karl and Jasmine, along with their children, divide their time between Sydney and Queensland.
As well as Harper, Karl also has three older children - Jackson, 24, Willow, 19, and River, 17 - from his marriage to Cassandra Thorburn.
Jasmine's family are based in the Sunshine State where Karl began his journalism career.
The couple married in December 2018 in San José del Cabo, Mexico.
Karl is currently is taking his second break from Today in less than a month amid speculation he is facing a whopping pay cut.
The Nine star joined his wife and their four-year-old daughter Harper for Easter holidays this weekend in Fiji as the network are reportedly looking to slash his $3million salary by half.
The family are understood to be staying at the Kokomo Island Resort, where prices per night for the top tier residences on sit can cost up to $4000-per-night.
A minimum three night stay is required, and a five day package, including flights, can run up to $18,900 per person.

In the video Lilian can be seen holding her belly while the gospel choir song 'Total Praise' plays in the background. It also included one clip of herself in a bathroom mirror showing off her baby bump. Accompanying the video were various photos taken by a professional photographer. Becker married his 35-year-old partner last September in Portofino, Italy and the pair now reside permanently in Milan. The former tennis ace and the risk analyst have been dating since 2019. They're now set to welcome their first child together. Becker waxed lyrical about his wife in a recent interview with Stern Magazine where he said: "This is perhaps the first partnership on equal terms for me. "No one is more important than the other, I need Lilian, and I hope she needs me too. "We met at a time when I was feeling very bad. "Professionally, personally, physically, I was feeling worse than ever before in my life but despite this, Lilian was interested in me. "That's remarkable, because she could only be interested in me as a person because I had nothing else to offer - I had never met a woman like that before." The announcement comes three years after his release from prison after being jailed in 2022 at Southwark Crown Court, serving eight months. The tennis icon had failed to disclose assets and loads to his creditors after declaring bankruptcy. Becker already has four children by three different women. He married Barbara Feltus in 1993 and the couple had a son, Noah, born in 1994 and a daughter, Elias, born in 1999. The pair separated in December 2000. The following year Becker confirmed he was the father of Anna, the daughter of Angela Ermakova, a Russian model, following a High Court battle. Fast forward seven years and Becker announced he was engaged to Dutch model Sharley "Lily" Kerssenberg and they married in 2009. The couple had a son, Amadeus in 2010 and then split in May 2018. 6 Becker married his first wife, Barbara Feltus in 1993 and the pair had a son, Noah, and daughter, Elias Credit: Getty 6 He then married Sharley "Lily" Kerssenberg in 2009 Credit: Getty

Brooklyn Beckham's big family decision could impact sister Harper leaving her 'devastated'
Brooklyn Beckham's big family decision could impact sister Harper leaving her 'devastated' Brooklyn Beckham has a big decision to make regarding his youngest sibling Harper Seven as the Beckham family feud rumbles on. Brooklyn Beckham's decision could impact sister Harper leaving her devastated (Image: Instagram ) The Beckhams have been at the centre of a major family rift, after eldest son Brooklyn reportedly cut ties with his parents and siblings amid ongoing tension. Speculation has intensified after Brooklyn failed to acknowledge his family on social media, most recently skipping dad David's 50th birthday celebrations and failing to publicly send any well wishes. Adding to the strain, Brooklyn also remained silent following David's knighthood announcement and he shared no tributes for either David or Victoria on Father's Day or Mother's Day on social media. Now the wannabe chef has a big decision to make as his sister Harper's 14th birthday is on July 10, and if he fails to acknowledge it, it could leave her "devastated." A source told MailOnline: "Brooklyn and Harper used to be inseparable." 'He adored her, he hopefully still does, but the problem is that Brooklyn has a track record for ignoring family birthdays now. It would be devastating for Harper not to hear from him. She hasn't done anything and she's only 13-years-old." 'David and Victoria very much blame Nicola for all of this but hopefully Brooklyn will see sense. While Harper doesn't have her own Instagram yet, the family thing is to tag her in on their posts as #harperseven,' the source concluded. Article continues below While the exact cause of the Beckham family fallout remains unclear, reports suggest that Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz, may be at the centre of the family tension, the Mirror reports. After initial claims surfaced pointing to Nicola as a possible reason for the estrangement, Brooklyn took to Instagram to show his support for his wife. He posted a video on Instagram, along with the caption: "My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby." Harper's birthday is approaching but it remains to be seen if Brooklyn acknowledges her (Image: INSTAGRAM ) The pair tied the knot back in 2022 in a lavish Jewish ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, in tribute to his great-great-great grandfather who was Jewish and her father, Nelson Peltz, who also follows the faith. Nicola previously seemed to have a close bond with the Beckham family, often appearing with them at red carpet events and joining in on family celebrations. Brooklyn has always had a great relationship with his family, with achievements and other celebrations marked on social media. Notably, a video went viral on social media back in 2018, which showed Brooklyn surprising his father on his 43rd birthday. The video showed David sitting at a London restaurant, as Brooklyn came up behind him and put his arms around him. As soon as he realised it was his eldest son, David became overcome with emotion as Brooklyn had been away in New York at the time. The Beckham brood have reportedly been at the center of a huge fall out (Image: Instagram/victoriabeckham ) Brooklyn made it clear that he hasn't stopped speaking to his extended family, as he acknowledged his grandmother Sandra's birthday earlier this week. Alongside a sweet picture of the two, he gushed: 'Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much." Article continues below He also appears to be very much a part of Nicola's family, enjoying a strong relationship with both her father, Nelson and her mother, Claudia. Brooklyn showed his father-in-law a very public display of support as he wished the 83-year-old billionaire a happy birthday on his Instagram page yesterday. With his sister's birthday approaching, all eyes are now on whether Brooklyn will publicly acknowledge the occasion, or if his silence will further fuel speculation about the growing rift within the family.

Ncuti Gatwa's emotional message after Glastonbury trans speech during Jade set
Former Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa has returned to social media following his Glastonbury role of introducing Jade Thirlwall to the stage for her debut solo set at Worthy Farm Former Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa returned to social media following his Glastonbury appearance. The actor took to the stage on Saturday to introduce Jade Thirlwall for her debut solo performance at Worthy Farm. And following his role, he took to Instagram to share his delight. He wrote on the platform: "Glastonbury for the girls and the gays. Had the honour of introducing @jadethirlwall for her EPIC set." He went on: "Jade your talent and power is insane. You're a megastar already. But that. That was the birth of you going absolutely cosmic. It's a pop girly emergency." It comes after his surprise appearance to introduce the former Little Mix member to the crowd at the Woodsies stage. At the time, the 32-year-old offered up a speech that included explicit tributes to the trans community. In it, he said: "I I hope you bi****s are f***ing ready! Ladies and gentlemen, they's and them's. All our beautiful trans brothers and sisters. The performance is about to begin." He went on to label Jade as "pop's new crown princess". And he also told the crowd: "Flash photography and video is encouraged. Enjoy the show." Jade's show went down a treat with her fans too. In the explosive set, Jade used her performance to boldly express her disdain for Reform UK. As she delivered a rousing rendition of her hit FUFN, she wasn't shy of letting her feelings be known. The track, an acronym for 'F*** you for now', features a segment where JADE reels off a list of things she'd like to give the middle finger to. And during her set, she chanted: "Reform! Transphobia! Selling arms! Genocide!" Her words toward to the crowd were met by them echoing back a resounding "F**** you". Elsewhere, she was emotional as she sang Angel of My Dreams. She told her fans while fighting back tears: "This song [Angel of My Dreams] is literally me as a song, so thank you for showing me that that's enough." The tune delves into the peaks and troughs of JADE's 15-year career. It features lyrics stating: "selling my soul to a SYCO, they say I'm so lucky". SYCO refers to Simon Cowell's record label, under which JADE was signed as part of Little Mix for their initial five albums. She dressed in a large fur hat, green jeans, and a white T-shirt emblazoned with "GLASTO", and also took a moment to pay tribute to her former Little Mix bandmates. She said: "I can't begin to explain how grateful I am to those girls for literally changing my life. And who would have thought, eh? That we'd have a Little Mix girlie up here on the Glastonbury stage. " The performance was an overall hit and fans were quick to praise her efforts on social media. One user on Twitter /X gushed: "She killed it! I love that the crowd knew her songs and that she mentioned Little Mix too." Another added: ""That #Glastonbury set from JADE is the type that makes you go... yup, Pyramid stage soon". And a third said: "JADE screaming "FU to justifying genocide" to a sell out crowd at Glastonbury is honestly so iconic and one of the many reasons she is my absolute favourite".
