Prince Harry's glamorous ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas takes on Meghan Markle with rival podcast

Sky News AU24-04-2025

Prince Harry's former girlfriend Cressida Bonas has taken on Meghan Markle's podcast head-to-head - and even managed to out-royal the Duchess of Sussex.
Bonas, 36, dated the Duke of Sussex for almost two years and was one of Harry's two publicly-known girlfriends, along with Chelsy Davy, before he married Markle.
It is understood the striking society beauty, who is a granddaughter of an earl, was introduced to Harry by his cousin Princess Eugenie in May 2012 and they soon began dating.
In his memoir Spare, Harry revealed how Cressida even had the seal of approval of Prince Wiliam and Princess Catherine as a future royal duchess.
However, the couple was reported to have separated amicably in April 2014, with Bonas later attending the Sussexes' wedding in 2018.
Seven years later, Bonas and Markle have both launched similar-sounding podcasts within days of one another.
Markle's podcast Confessions of A Female founder launched just days before Cressida unveiled Lessons From Our Mothers.
Bonas' series is hosted with her half sister Isabella Branson and features 'a series of conversations that celebrate motherhood and mothering in all its forms'.
Meanwhile, Markle reportedly settled on interviewing high profile female business figures for her new show after failing to garner interest from A-list stars like Beyonce and Taylor Swift.
Adding major insult to injury, Bonas has reportedly secured Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie as a guest.
A sneak preview posted on the podcast's Instagram account saw Eugenie, 34, share a rare insight into her relationship with her mother, Fergie.
'What is the most valuable thing you have learned from your mum?' Cressida asked in an episode.
'I think for me, it's the fire inside, you know, the strength inside of you, and how to bring that out, and to pull it in when you most need it,' Eugenie said.
The update comes after royal insider Lady Colin Campbell claimed Harry and Bonas' relationship fell apart because Cressida found royal life 'unappealing'.
'Harry had one or two really nice girlfriends,' she told Best magazine's Suddenly Single podcast earlier this month.
'He had wonderful taste in girls, the problem is after a point when the excitement of being with a prince and the possibility of being a royal duchess has worn thin it had no appeal.'

Britney Spears appears to delete Instagram just days after she launched scathing attack on her exes

Britney Spears' Instagram page has been deactivated. The 43-year-old pop icon had more than 40 million followers on the social media site and it had become her sole method of communicating with fans after the conservatorship that had been governed by her immediate family was terminated in November 2021 but on Friday (13.06.25), the page disappeared altogether. Her profile link now redirects to a message that reads: "Sorry, this page isn't available. "The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram." The news comes just days after the Oops! I Did It Again singer posted a scathing rant about two of the men she had dated in the past on her Instagram page. Britney was initially married to childhood friend Jason Alexander for a period of 55 hours in 2004 and was then married to Kevin Federline from 2004 until 2007 but was then married to Sam Asghari from 2022 until 2024. She wrote: "I dated two f****** complete a**holes. 'I realized I loved their dogs more than them and I think it's because their dogs bowed to me every time I entered the room!!!" The Baby One More Time hitmaker - who has sons Sean, 19, and Jayden, 18, with her second husband - did not name either of the men in question but branded them as "cruel humans" who faieled to "acknowledge" her during their time together. She added: "Now the guys were of course cruel humans that never even acknowledged and never held my hand in the car for 6 years !!! I choose animals over people anyday !!! "I'm so turned off by humanity and the way people have literally … I have no words !!!" Britney has deactivated her Instagram account on numerous occasions in the past, having once left the platform after seemingly criticising fans for approaching her in public, and before that, she closed it without any warning or reason.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hire former The Crown executive to help boost their public image

In yet another move that will throw fuel on the fiery feud between King Charles, Prince William and his brother Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle have hired a former TV producer from The Crown to help boost their image. The woman responsible for the publicity of the hugely popular Netflix series during seasons three through six, Emily Robinson, has ironically been parachuted in by the Sussexes to try and help turn around their disastrous public persona. Netflix had been accused of taking creative licence too far when addressing some story lines in The Crown, which reportedly enraged members of the royal family. Ms Robinson was responsible for depicting the episodes as based on actual events, even though there were large chunks of the overall series that had clearly been left to script writers and producers to use their creative licence. Prince Harry's notorious Nazi costume scandal and the most sensitive Princess Diana moments in the program were all content that Ms Robinson was employed to promote. Royal commentators have likened the decision to hire Ms Robinson with 'sticking in the knife'. The Netflix series touched on all the controversial moments for the King and his sons over the years. 'In the circumstances, it's almost beyond belief that Harry and Meghan would hire someone straight from The Crown,' the Daily Mail quoted a royal insider as saying. Prince Harry has previously spoken about The Crown and said the show had not concerned him at all. 'They don't pretend to be news. It's fiction. But it's loosely based on the truth. Of course, it's not strictly accurate,' he told James Cordern in 2021. 'I'm way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife, or myself.' When asked by Stephen Colbert on his talk show in the US in 2023 if he had watched the show and if he did any fact checking, the Prince responded 'Yes, I have actually watched The Crown'. 'Yes, I do, actually (fact check). Which, by the way, is another reason why it's so important that history has it right.' The Netflix brand is one the Sussexes are particularly aligned with after the streaming service paid them a staggering $US100 million to produce a range of programs over a five year period including a Harry & Meghan documentary series. The infamous docu-series included Prince Harry's claim that his family suffered from 'unconscious racial bias', and that they were conspiring against him and his wife. Although the decision will undoubtedly push the royal brothers further apart, Prince Harry and Meghan have pushed on and hired the former Netflix exec who has also held a number of senior publicity roles around the world. Ms Robinson has worked in various roles at the A&E Networks, Discovery/TLC, VH1, and Bravo and is expected to only increase the couple's profile and build on Meghan Markle's recent foray's into podcasting and lifestyle programming including her with her show - With Love, Meghan.
