Rob Ryan Posts Victory Reaction Following Huge USC News
Rob Ryan is becoming more savvy with social media. That now includes posting victory reactions -- which he did Sunday after some huge USC news.
The Trojans scored a massive college football recruiting win on Mother's Day. USC received a verbal commitment from four-star edge defender Shaun Scott. Ryan helped lure the 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker/defensive end over to the Land of Troy.

Ryan didn't take long to post his reaction. Which won over Trojan fans. All he did was post the two-finger peace sign emoji -- the sign USC uses during games and to yell "Fight On!"

Ryan even retweeted a photo of himself. Except this one came from his newest commit Scott himself. The 2026 commitment posted a picture of his future LBs coach giving him the "Fight On" sign with his right fingers.
The Inland Empire native Scott rises as a prized local addition for Ryan, head coach Lincoln Riley and USC. Scott stars for Mater Dei High in Santa Ana -- best known for establishing itself as a college football recruiting factory. Scott stars for the same high school that sent Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley and Amon-Ra St. Brown to USC.

Scott brings pass rushing prowess and versatility to the Land of Troy. He even opened up on his reasonings for choosing USC with Connor Morrissette of 247Sports. Scott cited Ryan as one of the reasons he's rolling with USC.
"Coach Rob Ryan is a Hall Of Fame coach," Scott said. "He's guided linebackers that weren't even drafted to being Pro Bowlers. That's big. Coach Ryan is always himself. He never sugarcoats anything and that adds to it."
Scott is California's 30th-ranked overall prospect by 247Sports. He reeled in 23 offers before choosing USC.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Rookie center fielder Denzel Clarke made yet another spectacular catch for the Athletics, this time reaching high above the wall to rob the Los Angeles Angels' Nolan Schanuel of a home run on Monday night. The Angels had one out and no one on in the bottom of the first when Schanuel launched a 1-0 splitter from Grant Holman toward left-center. Clarke raced back and planted his right foot about halfway up the wall in a perfectly timed leap and grabbed the top for support. He extended the upper half of his body several feet beyond the wall and made a backhand grab with his left arm fully stretched out. Clarke let out a roar after the catch. Schanuel gazed toward the outfield in disbelief, and Holman held his hands above his head. Clarke has made several terrific catches since he debuted on May 23. He robbed the Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk of a home run a week and a half ago. And against Baltimore in Sacramento on Friday, he robbed Jorge Mateo of an extra-base hit with a backhand grab as he sprinted full speed into the wall in left-center. ___ AP MLB:

It's only June and we might have the catch of the year already after Athletics outfielder Denzel Clarke pulled off an incredible home run robbery. The Athletics are in Anaheim playing the Los Angeles Angels, and in the bottom of the first inning of Monday's contest, Nolan Schanuel took Grant Holman's splitter deep to center field. It looked like it was going to go over the wall to give the Angels an early 1-0 lead. Clarke got so high he almost went over the wall, but he was hyped as he landed back in the field of play. Mostly everyone, especially Holman, in the stadium couldn't believe what they saw. It was an impressive catch for a ball that went 398 feet to center field. Monday was just Clarke's 16th game in the big leagues after he was called up in May. Taken in the fourth round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Cal State Northridge, Clarke entered the night with a .224 batting average with one home run and three RBI, but he already has an all-time highlight play in his career. On May 30 against the Toronto Blue Jays, Clarke robbed Alejandro Kirk from a home run as he scaled the wall to catch the ball back in his home country. The catch against the Angels come three days after he had another incredible snag against the Baltimore Orioles, as he turned on the jets and hauled in the ball before hitting the wall to steal a hit away from Jorge Mateo. Did A's Denzel Clarke secure MLB's catch of the year with this crazy grab?
A's center fielder Denzel Clarke made what was arguably the catch of the season on Monday night, climbing the wall to rob the Angels' Nolan Schanuel of a would-be home run. It's the latest in a string of highlight-reel catches for the 25-year-old rookie, who is playing in just his 16th big league game. Just three days ago, Clarke made a highlight-reel running catch, injuring his shoulder while running into the center field wall to rob Baltimore's Jorge Mateo of a would-be base hit. For that play, he was awarded MLB's Play of the Week award. Clarke's play against the Angels on Monday came on just the third pitch of game. Schanuel crushed a ball that appeared ticketed to go well over the left-center field wall. Instead, Clarke tracked it, leapt, and used the wall to elevate his glove to make the play. Schanuel looked in stunned silence before going back to the dugout. JJ Bleday, a former top prospect, had been the A's everyday center fielder, before being demoted when Clarke was called up. However, Bleday struggled mightily on offense, and is batting just .196. He's returned to the big league roster, but has moved over to left field. Clarke, drafted by the A's out of Cal State Northridge in the fourth round in 2021, rose through the prospect ranks early in his A's career, even playing in the Futures Game in 2022. He's known for his speed, snagging 36 stolen bases in Double-A last season.
