Sachin Parikh from Vasudha on International Tea Day; says "Chai has always been my constant companion"
International Tea Day
, celebrated on May 21st, honours the rich history, cultural significance, and global impact of tea. As one of the most consumed beverages in the world, tea brings people together across continents and traditions.
This day also recognises the efforts of millions of
tea workers
and small-scale growers who play a vital role in the industry. It's a moment to reflect on sustainability, fair trade, and the shared joy found in every cup. On this special day, actor
Sachin Parikh
from
Vasudha
talks about his love for tea and shares memories related to it.
Sachin Parikh, who essays the role of Prabhat in Vasudha said, "Chai has always been my constant companion—whether it's during rehearsals, long shoot days, or those peaceful moments at home.
No matter how hectic the day gets, it helps centre me. Every single morning, without fail—whether I have an early shift or not— I make the first cup of tea for the whole family."
He further added, "Some of my fondest memories are those simple moments, sipping tapri wali cutting chai with friends in Mumbai. Even on the sets of Vasudha, during breaks - the cast, spot dadas, director sahab and the team all come together to share a cup, catch up, and enjoy a little pause in the chaos.
This International Tea Day
, I plan to make breakfast for my family and surprise them with my special
masala chai
— because chai, for me, has always meant love and togetherness."
