Eagles Remain Aligned on Post-Super Bowl Mindset
Eagles Remain Aligned on Post-Super Bowl Mindset originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
There is a common theme from many of the Philadelphia Eagles' biggest stars this offseason.
No one seems to care that they just won the Super Bowl.

Whether it was A.J. Brown's comments right before the parade, or Jalen Hurts ignoring comments made from the previous season, the Eagles are a team that seems hellbent on doing everything they can to reach the big game for a second straight year.
And now some of their younger defensive players are getting in on that thought process.
Nolan Smith, one of Philadelphia's first-round picks from the 2022 draft, is coming off a career year with the team where he recorded 6.5 sacks in the regular season and four in the playoffs.
While a 24-year-old player could be excused for being focused on the numbers or joys of winning a Super Bowl, Smith couldn't be more different.

The Georgia edge rusher spoke at voluntary workouts this week with a clear mindset. The same one that the rest of the team has had for months.
"Everyone is excited for the rings and all of that; I've been turning the page, especially after the parade,' said Smith. 'I got back to doing what I was doing because I know I had to rehab and gotta be stronger. I said last year, 'I gotta be bulletproof,' and that's what I'm going through every year. Build my armor going into this year.'
It is clear that the entire Eagles roster is aligned on their post-victory mindset coming off one of the biggest blowouts in Super Bowl history.
Time will tell if it means another chance at a championship, but it is clear the organization is ready to try and repeat.

P.K. Subban Makes Bold Oilers Statement Amid Stanley Cup Push
P.K. Subban Makes Bold Oilers Statement Amid Stanley Cup Push originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the Edmonton Oilers chase their first Stanley Cup since 1990, the spotlight is once again on team captain Connor McDavid and fellow star forward Leon Draisaitl. Advertisement The franchise icons led Edmonton to a Game 1 win over the Florida Panthers, combining for four points and delivering the overtime winner in the series-opening 4-3 win, with McDavid assisting on Draisaitl's game-winning goal. With their legacy already cemented as generational players and members of the Oilers since they entered the league, former Norris Trophy winner P.K. Subban added another layer to the conversation. Appearing on ESPN's "First Take" on Thursday, Subban made a bold suggestion involving McDavid, Draisaitl and the possibility of the two stars hoisting the Stanley Cup. "If Connor McDavid wins a Stanley Cup, Leon Draisaitl wins a Stanley Cup," Subban said, "I don't know if this is going to happen, but I'd be an advocate for putting their jerseys up in the rafters right away. Advertisement "These guys have been that good — immediate Hall of Famers." Subban kept going, saying that perhaps another player should join them in building a great legacy linked to Edmonton's franchise. Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl, left, and forward Connor McDavid get high praise from P.K. Sabau-Imagn Images "These guys are going into the Hall of Fame," Subban said. "And if they get it done, you may be able to add Stuart Skinner's name to that group statement. "It is a big statement because that's how great these guys have been. Without having that ring on their finger, there's no one player in this league that will say that those guys don't deserve that to happen." Interestingly, Subban's comments come just hours after TSN's Jeff O'Neill and Bryan Hayes debated whether another star forward, the Toronto Maple Leafs' Mitch Marner, deserves to have his jersey retired if he leaves Toronto this summer as a free agent. Oilers' Corey Perry Sends 'Tough' Message After 2OT Loss to Panthers
Oilers' Corey Perry Sends 'Tough' Message After 2OT Loss to Panthers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Edmonton Oilers came close to taking a 2-0 series lead in their Stanley Cup Final rematch against the Florida Panthers, but Friday night's Game 2 ended on the wrong side of things for the challengers. Advertisement Despite Corey Perry's equalizer with under 18 seconds left in regulation, the Oilers couldn't close it out as Florida's Brad Marchand scored in double overtime to tie the series at 1-1. Now the series shifts to Sunrise, Florida, with the Panthers taking home-ice advantage from the Oilers just two games into the series. Edmonton's veterans, however, chose not to dwell on what could have been and instead focused on what's next when asked about the loss by reporters. Perry, who has now appeared in five of the last six Stanley Cup Finals, showed little frustration after the loss. "We lost with 0.4 seconds left a couple series ago. Those are tough," Perry said. "You know, you go home. Yeah, you can think about it. But tomorrow you get some rest and get on the plane and be ready for Game 3." Advertisement Perry said the Panthers deserve credit for pushing back in a series both teams expected to be difficult. "(The Panthers) are a good team. I keep saying they are a good team. They're going to push us to the max, and we're going to push them to the max," Perry said. "It's frustrating right now, but we're in the Final for a reason." Edmonton Oilers right wing Corey Perry reacts after scoring a goal in the 2025 Stanley Cup Tychnowicz-Imagn Images Leon Draisaitl echoed that mindset after logging a goal and an assist in the loss. "Every game is tight at this time of year, two really good teams," Draisaitl said. "It's never going to be easy. Regroup and move on." Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final is on Monday at 8 p.m. ET at Amerant Bank Arena. Sam Bennett's Two-Word Reaction to Stuart Skinner Penalty Question
Sam Bennett's Two-Word Reaction to Stuart Skinner Penalty Question originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers delivered another high-scoring contest marked by one controversial call that didn't end up impacting the 5-4 outcome. Advertisement Panthers forward Sam Bennett opened the scoring early with a record-setting power-play goal, but it was another sequence involving Bennett that drew attention. Late in the first period, with the score tied 2–2, Bennett collided with Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner and was penalized for goaltender interference. Cameras appeared to show Mattias Ekholm making contact with Bennett and pushing the forward just before the collision, forcing him into Skinner's crease. Skinner stayed down briefly before continuing in net for the Oilers without leaving the game. Bennett, however, was sent off for two minutes under a minor penalty. Advertisement On the ensuing power play, Connor McDavid set up Leon Draisaitl for a one-timer to restore Edmonton's lead at 3–2. When asked during the intermission about being surprised by the call, Bennett offered a terse response. "Very surprised," Bennett said before promptly exiting the interview. The Panthers' Sam Bennett collides with Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Friday Tychnowicz-Imagn Images Despite the penalty and quick goal against, Florida pushed back in the second period with goals by Dmitry Kulikov and Brad Marchand, the two players scoring 3:46 apart. After Corey Perry tied the game at 4-4 with 17.8 seconds left in regulation, the game went to double overtime. At 8:05 of the second OT, Marchand skated in on a breakaway and sealed it with his 10th career Stanley Cup Final goal, evening the series at one win apiece.
