Exciting goal-scoring midfielder chooses Morocco over Kaizer Chiefs, Pirates

Yanga SC playmaker Stephane Aziz Ki isn't joining Kaizer Chiefs. Instead, he's heading for Morocco to pursue his career.
According to PanAfrica Football, Stephane Aziz Ki will be a Wydad player imminently. The 29-year-old Burkinabe star has been a standout performer for Tanzanian giants Young Africans. It's understood that Rulani Mokwena played a big role in convincing the talented goal-scoring midfielder to move to Morocco. As it happens, Mokwena will leave his post at the end of the season. Aziz Ki has two goals from 17 caps in a Tanzania jersey. Wydad are hoping to complete a deal for Aziz Ki in time for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup hosted in the United States. Mdu was only a substitute in Chiefs' recent Nedbank Cup win over Orlando Pirates. It would also be a surprise if he started the final league game of the season against Polokwane, a decisive clash in terms of their MTN8 prospects. Only a bold man would predict that Mduduzi Shabalala will leave Chiefs in the winter, but his long-term prospects don't look great. The writing isn't on the wall yet, however, and it's up to the player to prove how much he wants to become a legend at the club.

Orlando Pirates starting XI vs Stellenbosch FC

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has named his strongest possible starting line-up for Wednesday's clash against Stellenbosch FC. Kick-off at Orlando Stadium is at 19:30. Ouaddou is under immense pressure to deliver a win over Stellies as Pirates are currently sitting 15th on the log. They are one of the only two teams with no points this season – the other being Richards Bay FC who are 16th on the log. Now, Ouaddou has made a single change to the team that faced Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend. Patrick Maswanganyi is the only player who is missing from the starting line-up, and his place has been taken by Oswin Appollis. Pirates to face Sundowns in the MTN8. Kaizer Chiefs BLOCK overseas interest in star player!

Kaizer Chiefs seem to have developed a reputation for exporting a player abroad regularly in the past couple of seasons. Even though Chiefs would like to keep their best players as a big club, they also don't hold them back. During the current transfer window, Chiefs did not stand in the way of their captain Yusuf Maart , when an offer came. The box-to-box midfielder recently left the Glamour Boys, after they accepted an offer from Austrian side SK Rapid Wien. That signalled the end of his three years at the club, having joined from Sekhukhune United in the 2022/23 season. He left ultimately left them with good memories, scoring the winning goal of the Nedbank Cup final. Of course, this would've been sweeter for Chiefs fans and Maart as he scored it against Orlando Pirates. His former club where he hardly got a look in, and the arch rivals of Amakhosi. But as their fanbase were still digesting that move, they could've been rocked by another. According to Soccer-Laduma , the Bafana Bafana star is not the only player from the squad that was attracting interest in Austria. The publication reports that talented playmaker Mduduzi Shabalala was the subject of interest from Maart's rival side Austrian Wien . 'Yes, there was reported interest from a club in Austria (in Shabalala), but the deal did not materialise. It was interest from Austria Wien.' Said the source on the Chiefs forward's situation. A second source added that Chiefs were not yet ready to part ways with Shabalala. This despite the efforts of Wien. 'Yes, there was interest from a team in Europe (Wien) but Kaizer Chiefs were not ready to release the player at that point, and that's why the deal didn't go through. But it's true, the interest was there for Mdu (Shabalala),' said the source. Chiefs fans, was the club right to reject the advances of Wien? Or should they have let Shabalala go?
