Iran Establishes National Defense Council; Army Commander Warns of Ongoing Israeli Threats

Tehran – SABA: The Supreme National Security Council of Iran officially announced today the approval of the formation of a 'National Defense Council', reflecting an escalation in the country's military preparedness amid rising regional tensions—particularly with the Israeli entity. According to a statement published by Tasnim News Agency, the National Defense Council will be responsible for matters related to national protection, will focus on defense strategies, and will work to strengthen the capabilities of the armed forces. The statement confirmed that the council will be headed by the President of the Republic, and its members will include the heads of the legislative and judicial branches, senior commanders of the armed forces, and relevant ministries. Earlier today, Major General Amir Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, issued a warning stating that Israeli threats remain ongoing, emphasizing that the Iranian armed forces are at the highest level of readiness and will continue their defensive efforts with determination. Speaking before senior commanders of the Iranian Ground Forces, Hatami noted that 'the enemy has repeatedly attempted to harm the Islamic system through various conspiracies, but after witnessing the steadfastness of the Iranian people, it realized that its calculations were wrong and that it had made a major strategic error.' Jordan: No Israeli sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque

Amman – Saba: The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan affirmed on Sunday that Israel has no sovereignty over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary (Al-Haram Al-Sharif). The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary by the so-called Israeli National Security Minister, the extremist criminal Itamar Ben-Gvir, today under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, according to the Jordanian News Agency (Petra). In an official statement by the ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, the ministry described this incursion as a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, an unacceptable provocation, and a condemnable escalation. It stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary. Al-Qudah reiterated that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its entire area of 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims. He emphasized that the Quds Awqaf Council and the Department of Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs, under Jordan's Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sites, is the sole legal authority responsible for managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary, including regulating entry. Jordan absolutely rejects and strongly condemns the continued incursions by the extremist criminal minister Ben-Gvir and the facilitation by the Israeli occupation police of repeated raids by settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Noble Sanctuary. These actions constitute a blatant violation of the historical and legal status quo of the mosque and the sanctuary, an attempt to impose temporal and spatial division, and a desecration of its sanctity. Al-Qudah warned of the consequences of these ongoing provocative and illegal violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Quds. He called on Israel, as the occupying power, to halt all provocative actions by the extremist minister Ben-Gvir, which reflect the continued extremist policies of the Israeli government aimed at escalating tensions, imposing unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank, and violating the sanctity of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Quds. Palestinian Scholars Association calls on nation to take action against genocide in Gaza

Occupied al-Quds – Saba: The Palestinian Scholars Association called on the Arab and Islamic nations and free people around the world on Sunday to take action in the field to support calls for popular escalation against the genocide and starvation being perpetrated in the Gaza Strip. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Association called for organizing protests and sit-ins in front of Israeli embassies and the embassies of countries that support it, starting today and continuing until the aggression stops and the famine is lifted from the residents of the Gaza Strip. The Association expressed its concern about what is happening in al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque, asserting that the Zionist enemy police have become a sponsor of incursions by Zionist religious pilgrims. It emphasized that what is happening in al-Aqsa Mosque aims to consolidate the temporal and spatial division of the mosque and to redefine the Zionist intruders as pilgrims. The Authority called for the broadest popular, media, and scholarly engagement with the Battle of al-Aqsa Mosque, especially on the anniversary of the so-called "Destruction of the Temple," which falls today, Sunday, August 3. The Authority emphasized that al-Aqsa Mosque is not only a Palestinian issue, but rather a battle for Islamic existence, and that any negligence in defending it constitutes an abandonment of the nation's trust and its religious and historical responsibilities.
