A rescue dog has gone viral for her over-the-top reaction to a paw injury, charming TikTok viewers with her theatrics.
Maggie Wachter (@imdoinggreatttt), 39, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, shared footage of her 1-year-old dog Rosie lying with her leg pointed dramatically in the air after hurting her paw during a game of fetch. The video has garnered over 66,200 likes and more than 367,500 views on TikTok.
"We were visiting my parents in New Jersey who have a large yard, and she played fetch for a few hours," Wachter, a nurse, told Newsweek.
"Their yard is grass with some areas of dirt and brush. The next morning, after the day of play, she wouldn't get out of bed. I put her on the floor and she was limping so dramatically! I was so worried. I inspected her hurt foot and between her toes was a pea-sized reddened rash, likely a friction rash from all the running in the grass and dirt."

Wachter said that Rosie was adopted last August from MatchDog Rescue, a New Jersey shelter, after being saved from a high-kill facility. Wachter described Rosie as a mix of Chihuahua, miniature pinscher, Australian cattle dog, and a little bit of pug.
"She has a very, very small bit of irritation between her pads and she's not taking it well," Wachter wrote as the text overlay of the video.
Rosie, she said, is exceptionally smart—she rings a bell to go outside, presses a button to ask for treats, and knows around 10 commands.
Fetch is Rosie's favorite game, and it was during an enthusiastic play session that she injured her paw. Wachter said their vet advised keeping Rosie indoors, off her foot, and using medicated wipes once per day until she was walking without discomfort or licking her paw. After two days, the dog was back on all fours.
Wachter said she hopes Rosie's viral fame will encourage people to consider adopting rather than shopping for pets. "She has brought so much love and joy to our family, and now to millions on the internet," she added.
TikTok users have been quick to react to Rosie's Oscar-worthy limp.
"Omg [oh my God], the only cure for that is a pup cup I've heard!" one person wrote.
"This poor baby. Hims deserves all the kissies. Also, maybe he should get nominated for an Oscar," a third added.
"Oh, the suffering! Please cuddle that baby," someone else commented.
"She said the vet called and prescribed me 48 hours of cuddling, 1000 kisses and unlimited cheese," posted Abigail.

On the August 15th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the "Underdog from the Underground" made a surprise appearance to announce that he has officially moved from Raw to the blue brand. The show, which took place at the TD Garden in Boston, opened with Zayn confronting the new leader of The Bloodline, United States Champion Solo Sikoa. Zayn's arrival has completely shaken up the landscape of SmackDown. A New WWE Challenger for The Bloodline The show opened with Solo Sikoa and his faction in the ring. After Sikoa ran down a list of his recent victims, he was interrupted by the surprise appearance of Sami Zayn. Zayn made his intentions clear, stating that he has never been the United States Champion and that he wants to change that. After Sikoa mocked him for being on the wrong brand, Zayn made his shocking announcement. He revealed that he is now the newest member of the SmackDown roster. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then appeared to confirm the move and booked a massive six-man tag team match for the main event. From One War to Another Sami Zayn's move to SmackDown is a much-needed "fresh start" for the superstar. He has spent the last several months embroiled in a brutal and personal war on Monday Night Raw. He was recently written off of television with a storyline injury at the hands of Karrion Kross and the dominant faction led by Seth Rollins. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match The WWE Grand Slam Pursuit Zayn's challenge for the United States Championship is also highly significant for his career. Throughout his decorated tenure in WWE, he has won the NXT Championship, the Intercontinental Championship (multiple times), and the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. The United States title is the one major championship that has eluded him. A victory over Solo Sikoa would make Sami Zayn a Grand Slam Champion, one of the highest honors a superstar can achieve in WWE. His quest for that final, elusive title is now the central motivation of his new journey on SmackDown. By confronting Sikoa, he is also reigniting one of the most celebrated rivalries in modern WWE history. Zayn, as the former "Honorary Uce," was the man who first exposed the cracks in the original Bloodline, leading to its eventual downfall. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Tristan Rogers, who played dashing spy Robert Scorpio in 'General Hospital,' dies at 79

Tristan Rogers, the Australian actor behind the magnetic Robert Scorpio on 'General Hospital,' died Friday after a battle with lung cancer, according to his manager. He was 79. In an email to The Times, Rogers' manager Meryl Soodak said his client was 'a family man' who is survived by his wife, two children and a grandson. '[He was] loyal, kind and loved his role of Scorpio,' Soodak said. Rogers' signature commanding voice and poised bravado made Scorpio a fan favorite on the long-running soap opera, and became his most recognizable role. As the enemy-turned-close-friend of star character Luke Spencer (played by Anthony Geary), Rogers appeared in some of the most memorable moments of the show's run. In true soap opera fashion, Scorpio would allegedly die a dramatic and fiery death in an explosion in South America in 1992, only to return alive for a short stint in 2006. Through every iteration of his "General Hospital" career, Rogers embraced Scorpio's status as an '80s TV icon. "I think this character will follow me to my grave," Rogers told the New York Times in 2006. Read more: Crying shame for fans of soaps Rogers was born June 3, 1946, in Melbourne, Australia. Out of high school, he played in a rock band with friends and began taking up modeling roles, he recalled in an interview. For 'extra money,' he acted in small TV and soap opera roles in Australia in the late '60s and '70s, including stints in the shows 'Bellbird,' 'Number 96' and 'The Box.' Early in his career, his Australian accent deterred casting directors from booking him for American shows, Rogers recalled in a 2022 interview. However, in 1980, he found himself auditioning for what was supposed to be a small, single-episode role on "General Hospital." This caught the eye of Gloria Monty, the show's visionary producer, who asked Rogers to stay on as a recurring character. Rogers was key to shaping the character of Scorpio, from his name to his risk-taking bravery, on what would eventually become the longest-running daytime soap opera in American television history, according to Guinness World Records. [Scorpio] took everyone by surprise, he looked different, he sounded different, he conducted himself in a different way and the public latched onto this right away. And so all of a sudden, away we went,' Rogers said in a radio interview earlier this year. While the show was set in a New York hospital, the late 80s saw it shift focus into an action adventure storyline that heavily featured Scorpio as an agent of the fictional World Security Bureau, or WSB. Broadcaster ABC notes that the change kept the attention of viewers and contributed to the continuation of the show's success, as spies and agents created complex and popular mystery storylines within the "General Hospital" universe. According to the New York Times, the second week after Rogers' character was revived in 2006, 'General Hospital' was the No. 1 daytime drama among young women, drawing larger-than-average audiences back to the show. Rogers also acted in the series "The Young and the Restless," "The Bay," and "Studio City," as well as voice-acting in the Disney animated film "The Rescuers Down Under." Genie Francis, who played Laura Spencer in 'General Hospital,' said of Rogers on X, 'My heart is heavy. Goodbye my spectacular friend. My deepest condolences to his wife Teresa and their children. Tristan Rogers was a very bright light, as an actor and a person. I was so lucky to have known him.' Kin Shriner, also an actor on the show, added in a video posted on X, 'I met Tristan 44 years ago at the Luke and Laura wedding. We were stashed in a trailer and I was taken by his Australian charm. Over the years we've worked together … we always had fun. I will miss Tristan very much.' In one of his last interviews, Rogers reflected on the joy of his acting career. 'I've had a good time of it,' he said. Sign up for Screen Gab, a free newsletter about the TV and movies everyone's talking about from the L.A. Times.
