3 people charged with financially exploiting elderly woman out of $500K
Three people from Fayette County are facing charges on accusations that they misappropriated more than $500,000 from an elderly woman.
Pennsylvania State Police announced charges against Todd Reppert, Ty Reppert and Laura Reppert, all of Belle Vernon, on Sunday.
The agency says an investigation into financial misconduct involving Donna Reppert began in 2019, shortly after Todd assumed the role of Power of Attorney.
Investigators say 'evidence indicates' that Todd, Ty and Laura used the authority for personal gain. They allege that between January 2019 and January 2023, the trio misappropriated more than $500,000.
State police say funds were diverted for things like paying bills, buying a BMW, acquiring real estate and online gambling, "despite having no legal authorization to access or use these funds for their own benefit."
Todd, Ty and Laura are all facing several charges, including financial exploitation of an elder, theft and conspiracy.
Online court documents show Ty and Laura are out on bond, but Todd is being held in the Fayette County Prison on $200,000 cash bail.
PSP says the investigation is ongoing.

Coroner ID's man killed in suspected DUI crash on Union Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner's Office identified a man who was killed in a suspected DUI crash on Union Avenue Tuesday night. Coroner officials said Randy Jason Munoz-Cruz, 27, of Porterville was the driver of a Dodge Charger that was involved in a crash with a white BMW who allegedly ran a red light. The crash was reported in the area of Union and East California avenues around 11:34 p.m. on Tuesday. Munoz-Cruz was taken to Kern Medical where he was pronounced dead, according to officials. The driver of the white BMW has been identified as Nathon Michael Ramirez, 19. Speed and DUI are believed to be factors for Ramirez. BPD told 17 News, it is believed Munoz-Cruz was neither speeding or impaired. An autopsy will be completed to determine the cause and manner of his death. Senior pedestrian, moped rider killed in separate NYC crashes in 24 hours
A 74-year-old pedestrian and a 42-year-old man riding a moped were killed by cars during separate back-to-back crashes in the city within 24 hours, officials said Friday. Victim Eric Wexler was crossing the corner of 217 St. and Northern Blvd. in Cambria Heights about 10 p.m. on Wednesday when a 2017 Chevy Tahoe driven by a 47-year-old man heading east on Northern Blvd. rammed into him, cops said. Wexler suffered massive injuries to his head and body and was rushed to North Shore Manhasset Hospital, where he died. The victim was not in the crosswalk and was crossing against the light when he was hit, cops said. The 47-year-old motorist remained on the scene. No charges were immediately filed. The Chevy Tahoe involved in the crash had racked up six speeding and one red light violation, according to although it wasn't clear if the 47-year-old driver was behind the wheel at those times. Wexler lives in Glen Oaks, Queens, and lived about four miles from where he died. Less than a day later, in Brooklyn, 42-year-old Rino El-Saieh was struck by a 2018 BMW at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday as he tried to make a left turn from E. 2nd St. onto Avenue P in Midwood, cops said. The 17-year-old BMW driver was heading west on Avenue P when he struck El-Saieh as he made the turn. The BMW veered out of control upon hitting the moped and slammed into a parked Ford van and a Hyundai Elantra, cops said. Medics rushed El-Saieh to Maimonides Medical Center, but he couldn't be saved. No other injuries were reported. The teen driver remained at the scene and hasn't been charged, cops said. El-Saieh lived in East New York, Brooklyn, officials said.

Police seek identity of suspect wanted for burglarizing businesses and church in Westmoreland County
Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing multiple businesses and a church in Westmoreland County, making off with cash, copper wire and a gold chalice. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating burglaries that happened between May 25 and June 8 at Stiles Hardware, Stiles Creamery and Holy Family Church, all in Saint Clair Township. Investigators released surveillance photos of the suspect and asked the public for help with identification. (Photo: PSP Tips/Facebook) At Stiles Hardware on June 2, police said the suspect stole cash from the cash register along with merchandise and copper wire. He also stole money from the cash register in Stiles Creamery, investigators said. At the first burglary, police said they found a large pipe wrench. At the second, they found a hammer. Police believe both items were used to gain entry into the buildings. At Holy Family Church on Bridge Street, police said the suspect got into the church through a window and stole a gold chalice, keys, and audio equipment. In all three burglaries, police said the suspect ran away. Anyone with information that can help investigators identify the person involved is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police Greensburg station at 724-832-3288.
