Tell us about you! How did you end up in this field?
My first glimpse into a world-class brand came while I was in college at the University of Texas, working at the Four Seasons — an experience that shaped my understanding of hospitality and the power of thoughtful details. From there, I went on to lead e-commerce teams at HomeAway and YETI in Austin, which gave me a front-row seat to what it takes to build beloved consumer brands.
That blend of hospitality, travel, and product-driven storytelling gave me a unique lens I carry into every decision I make at Tupelo Goods. I didn't come from the furniture world, but that's been a gift. Pulling ideas from other industries — especially travel, tech, and outdoor — has helped us approach product design, brand building, and go-to-market strategy in fresh, unexpected ways.
What's the one thing you want people to know about your business?
We may be relatively new to the furniture space, but we're not new to what we do best: rotational molding. Our team brings deep expertise to this process, especially from our time at YETI, and we have complete confidence in its potential. We believe rotomolding is the future of outdoor furniture, and we're proud to be leading the way in bringing that durability, precision, and design flexibility to this category.

Where can we shop Tupelo Goods?
Our products are available directly at tupelogoods.com, and we also partner with select premium retailers throughout the country. You'll find Tupelo furniture in luxury resorts as well as design-forward outdoor showrooms throughout the U.S., like The Laurel Group in the Hamptons, Elegant Outdoors in Naples, and online retailers such as Perigold and Lumens.
We're big fans of Florida's 30A area. Can you tell us about Tupelo Goods' collaboration with Seaside, FL?
Absolutely. SEASIDE® holds a special place in our hearts — it's where we've vacationed as a family for over a decade, and where many of our customers go to unwind and connect. That emotional resonance made it the perfect place to not just showcase our products, but to prove them …
SEASIDE® gave us the chance to test our designs in one of the most demanding environments — salt air, intense sun, constant use — and it's been a powerful validation of our brand promise. If Tupelo furniture can thrive there, it can thrive anywhere.
Resorts and resort communities like SEASIDE® need durability and low maintenance in a big way … That led to the launch of our 'Take SEASIDE® Home' program — so guests who fell in love with our furniture during their stay could bring that same feeling home.
More than anything, this partnership gave us a blueprint for how we want to show up in hospitality moving forward: with pride, performance, and a deep respect for the spaces where people come to gather, recharge, and make memories.

Where can we find you when you're not working?
I have two kids in competitive sports, so I spend a lot of my time watching them practice and compete. When I do have some downtime, I love playing piano, watercolor painting, and squeezing in a tennis match when I can. I also love to travel and spend as much time outdoors as my schedule allows.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
I had the privilege of working with Roy Seiders, founder of YETI, and he remains a mentor to me to this day. He was relentlessly focused on product and taught me the value of speed — making, testing, and learning. At Tupelo, we move fast and are not afraid to course-correct. It's never about waiting for the perfect moment; it's about momentum, clarity, and trusting the process.
Aside from faith, family, and friends, name three things you can't live without.
Chamomile tea, a pool floatie, and French café music while I cook.

Cathie Wood Trimmed Tesla Before Its Robotaxi Launch. Should You Bail on TSLA Stock Too?

Cathie Wood – the founder and chief executive of Ark Invest – has trimmed her exposure to Tesla (TSLA) shares ahead of the company's much-anticipated launch of robotaxi services in Austin, tentatively slated for June 12. Wood is a known proponent of TSLA shares and has previously argued that they could even hit $2,600 by the end of this decade – representing a more than 7x increase from current levels. Still, her flagship fund sold nearly 50,000 shares of the EV maker for an estimated $17 million last week. At the time of writing, Tesla stock is up some 65% versus its year-to-date low on April 8. Is Cathie Wood Losing Conviction in Tesla Stock? Investors should note that Wood's recent sales of Tesla shares is not a sign that she's lost conviction in the EV maker or its long-term potential in the robotaxi space. Instead, the move reflects what can only be described as prudent portfolio management following a massive surge in the EV stock in recent weeks. As a growth-focused investor, Cathie Wood often trims positions when valuations spike, locking in gains while staying aligned with her core thesis. Simply put, trimming exposure to TSLA stock last week was strategic rebalancing, not a shift in Wood's long-held bullish view on the company's future. Piper Sandler Says Buy TSLA Shares Before June 12 Piper Sandler analysts recommend buying Tesla shares ahead of the company's expected launch of robotaxi services next week. The investment firm continues to rate the EV stock at 'Overweight' with a price target of $400, indicating potential upside of another 14% from current levels. It remains constructive also because Tesla is the only automaker that's fully committed to in-house production of EV batteries with zero reliance on China. This vertical integration sets Tesla apart from other automotive stocks. Some Wall Street Firms Remain Cautious on Tesla Caution is still warranted in playing Tesla stock at current levels as not all Wall Street firms are as bullish on it as Piper Sandler. The consensus rating on the electric vehicle behemoth currently sits at 'Hold' only with the mean target of $290 indicating potential downside of about 17% from here.

BenQ Launches Flagship ScreenBar® Halo 2 to Redefine Eye Comfort for Professionals Working in the Dark

PLANO, Texas, June 3, 2025 /CNW/ -- BenQ, the pioneer of monitor lighting solutions, today launched the ScreenBar® Halo 2, its next-generation flagship monitor light engineered to deliver optimal eye comfort for professionals working in dim environments. Developed over four years, the ScreenBar® Halo 2 enhances workspace lighting through a powerful dual-light design that provides full front and rear illumination. Building on the success of its predecessor, the ScreenBar® Halo 2 introduces a Tri-zone Backlight Design that expands coverage by 423%, reducing contrast between the monitor and its surroundings to ease visual fatigue. The front light features BenQ's ASYM-Light™, an asymmetrical optical design with an 18-degree cut-off angle that eliminates screen glare and prevents direct light from reaching the eyes. The product's development was informed by a study conducted in collaboration with National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, which found that maintaining balanced ambient light around a screen significantly improves eye comfort. Backed by ANSI standards, the optimal luminance ratio of no more than 3:1 between the screen and its surroundings is a core element of the ScreenBar® Halo 2's design. "We know professionals demand precision in lighting," said JC Pan, Chief Product Designer at BenQ Smart Lighting. "That's why we've revamped the control knob, making it easy to adjust brightness (0–100%) and color temperature (2700K–6500K) on an anti-fingerprint coated panel—ideal for tasks like color grading or video editing." The mounting system also received a complete redesign. Inspired by the gravity-based mechanism of the ScreenBar Pro, the new zinc-alloy clamp supports a wide variety of monitors, from ultra-thin to curved, without causing damage. "It rests gently on the screen instead of clipping on, making it far more screen-friendly," said Judy Yang, lead mechanical engineer. The ScreenBar® Halo 2 comes packed with smart features, including auto-dimming, auto on/off, and memory settings for personalized use. Co-designed with MINIMAL Design, founded by former Nike Global Creative Director Scott Wilson, it features a sleek metallic finish that complements any professional setup. To celebrate the launch, BenQ is giving away 50 free units of the ScreenBar® Halo 2 across different regions. To enter, users simply need to complete a short questionnaire about their workspace habits. The giveaway is part of the #ElevatewithHalo campaign, where professionals will share how the product enhances their workflow and comfort. Since introducing the world's first monitor light bar in 2017, BenQ Smart Lighting has led innovation in professional lighting. With a mission to improve eye comfort and productivity, BenQ delivers intelligent, user-centric solutions for modern workspaces.
