Oxford's oldest restaurant to close Saturday
TUPELO - One of Oxford's oldest restaurants will close its doors for the final time this weekend.
The staff of Beacon, located on Heritage Drive, will serve diners for the last time on Saturday, May 10. The longtime breakfast and lunch spot has been open since 1959.
Although Beacon's regulars have known about the impending closure for weeks, details of when the beloved eatery would celebrate its final day hadn't been widely publicized until Thursday. The restaurant shared a post from Oxford-based online publication The Local Voice to its Facebook page announcing the May 10 closure.
The restaurant's posted hours are 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.
