Israel military says hit Hezbollah site in south Lebanon
Israel's military said Saturday its navy struck a Hezbollah 'infrastructure site' near the southern Lebanese city of Naqoura, a day after Israel's foreign minister warned the Lebanese armed group against entering the Iran–Israel war.
'Overnight, an Israeli Navy vessel struck a Hezbollah 'Radwan Force' terrorist infrastructure site in the area of Naqoura in southern Lebanon,' the military said, adding the site was used by Hezbollah 'to advance terror attacks against Israeli civilians.'

Israeli building hit in wave of drone attacks: Rescue services
Israel's rescue services said Saturday that an Iranian drone had struck a residential building in the north of the country following a wave of attacks reported by the military. 'A drone strike hit a two-story residential building in northern Israel,' the Magen David Adom said in a statement, referring to an impact site in the Beit She'an valley by the northeastern border with Jordan. Israel's sophisticated air defenses have intercepted more than 450 missiles fired at the country by Iran, along with around 400 drones, since the start of the war on June 13, according to official figures. The locations of strikes in Israel are subject to strict military censorship rules and are not always provided in detail to the public. The National Public Diplomacy Directorate, which is overseen by Israel's prime minister, has acknowledged 50 impact sites. At least 19 people were injured in Haifa on Friday following a strike on a building by the city's docks. The northern Israeli port has been frequently targeted along with coastal hub Tel Aviv and southern Beersheba. AFP photographs from the scene of the drone strike in Beit She'an on Saturday showed a hole torn in the side of the building next to a crater and mounds of earth that appeared to have been thrown up by the drone's explosives. Magen David Adom said its rescue teams found no visible casualties as they arrived at the scene. In separate statements, the Israeli military reported several drones had been sighted and intercepted at locations in northern Israel mid-morning on Saturday after a barrage of 40 drones overnight. A total of 25 people have been killed in Israel since the start of the war, according to official figures.

Iran-Israel war must not become refugee crisis: UN
The United Nations said on Saturday the Iran-Israel war must not be allowed to trigger another refugee crisis in the Middle East, saying once people fled there was no quick way back. UNHCR, the UN's refugee agency, said the intensity of the attacks between the two sides was already triggering population movements in both countries. Such movements had already been reported from Tehran and other parts of Iran, it said, with some people crossing into neighboring countries. Strikes in Israel had caused people to seek shelter elsewhere in the country and in some cases abroad. 'This region has already endured more than its share of war, loss and displacement. We cannot allow another refugee crisis to take root,' said Filippo Grandi, the UN high commissioner for refugees. 'The time to de-escalate is right now. Once people are forced to flee, there's no quick way back -- and all too often, the consequences last for generations.' Israel said on Saturday it had launched fresh airstrikes against missile storage and launch sites in central Iran. Iran has responded with barrages which Israeli authorities say have killed at least 25 people. Iran hosts the largest number of refugees in the world -- around 3.5 million -- mostly of them from Afghanistan. If the conflict persists, Iran's existing refugee populations would also face renewed uncertainty and yet more hardship, UNHCR said. The agency called for an urgent de-escalation in the conflict and urged countries in the region to respect the right of people to seek safety. The Israeli government says the unprecedented wave of attacks it has launched at Iran since June 13 is aimed at preventing its rival from developing nuclear weapons -- an ambition Tehran strongly denies. Israel has maintained ambiguity about its own atomic arsenal, neither officially confirming nor denying it exists, but the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute says it has 90 nuclear warheads.

Internet partially restored in Iran: UK-based watchdog
Internet service was partially restored in Iran on Saturday, after Tehran imposed a blackout during its war with Israel, London-based online watchdog NetBlocks said. 'Metrics show a partial restoration in internet connectivity in Iran after a ~62 hour government-imposed shutdown,' NetBlocks posted on social media. 'However, service remains diminished in some areas and overall connectivity remains below ordinary levels,' the internet watchdog added. Iran on Thursday imposed a 'nationwide internet shutdown' according to NetBlocks, resulting in the most extensive blackout since widespread anti-government protests in 2019. On Saturday, access to the internet remained highly unstable and patchy in Tehran, with many websites still inaccessible, according to AFP journalists. Israel launched strikes over a week ago against Iran, claiming its long-time rival was close to developing a nuclear weapon, which Iran denies. The two arch-foes have since exchanged waves of deadly strikes, with the US mulling whether or not to enter the war. In Iran, people fleeing Israel's attacks described frightening scenes and difficult living conditions, including food shortages and limited internet access. Earlier on Saturday, NetBlocks said the internet shutdown had 'severely limit(ed) the public's ability to express political viewpoints, communicate freely, and follow safety alerts.'
