Sunny skies, high near 79 on Monday in the Piedmont Triad
PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Another line of isolated storms is passing through this evening from north to south. This should be the last of the back-door disturbance, and from here the skies should clear, the humidity drops, and temperatures start to rise.
There will be sunny skies Monday with a high around 79 and the low Monday night cool in the mid-50s. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will see highs in the low to mid-80s and lows each night, gradually warming into the 60s.
By the end of the week, the computer models show low pressure forming in the Gulf and off the Florida coast and heading north. There will also be a cold front heading our way from the west.
If this scenario does play out, both systems will be disorganized with nothing pushing or pulling them along, so they could both simply stall out for the weekend and bring us a chance for rain both Saturday and Sunday.
That is still a long ways off and the forecast could change several times over the next few days.

Temperatures rise on Tuesday as haze from wildfires clear
(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Quiet and comfortable this morning as we head out and about on this Tuesday. Temperatures have settled into the low 60s in uptown and the 50s in surrounding areas. Winds are light this morning and will stay light through the afternoon as highs make a run for the upper 80s throughout the day. The haze and smoke from the Canadian Wildfires should dissipate a bit throughout the day as temperatures peak above normal. We'll see clouds build overnight as lows dip into the 60s heading into Wednesday. We'll rebound into the mid-80s with increasing clouds on Wednesday, with more humid conditions on deck. Rain and storm chances will increase heading into the second half of the workweek as humidity begins to be felt as well. We'll hold on to the upper 80s through the second half of the work week as well, with above normal temperatures lasting through the weekend. Saturday & Sunday will peak near 90 degrees with spotty storms likely. We'll kick off early next week, seasonable with mid-80s and lingering storm chances. Today: Mostly Sunny & Very Warm. High: 87. Tonight: Partly Cloudy and Comfortable. Low: 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

Warm week ahead
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The sunshine continues today with some lingering Canadian wildfire haze. Starting your morning, temperatures are in the upper 50s and lower 60s, but we warm to the mid- to upper 80s by the afternoon. Tonight, temperatures dip back down into the 60s. There is a tropical outlook showing a 10% chance for tropical activity, although it is very low. At this time, all we can expect to see is heavy rainfall in the next five to seven days. Sunny, warm weather will continue through the middle of the week. A high-pressure system will control our weather through Wednesday with sunshine and high temperatures in the 80s. As the high pressure moves offshore, winds will turn to the south and draw moisture northward into the Carolinas. We will see more clouds, and the chance for showers and thunderstorms will return on Thursday and Friday. This moisture will move away on Saturday, leaving behind just a chance for a thunderstorm. A cold front will move into the area Sunday and stall into Monday, with a better chance for thunderstorms. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. We are spending another day under high pressure and sunshine, but this afternoon we add smoke to the forecast. TODAY: We start the day mostly clear and cool. High pressure will allow for another day of plenty of sunshine. We'll be hazy by midmorning due to nearby Canadian wildfires. Still, sunshine and southerly flow will allow for highs in the low 80s this afternoon. TONIGHT: Tonight, a few high clouds move in, but we remain dry and quiet. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 50s. THE REST OF THE WEEK: The smoke is expected to lower the air quality index to moderate levels through Wednesday. Then, the rain arrives on Thursday, helping to improve conditions. The heat may provide energy for stronger thunderstorms Thursday evening, Friday night, and Saturday morning.
