Oppo K13 Turbo Pro 5G price in India, specifications, and everything expected
On the heels of the launch of a new mid-ranger from Oppo, let's take a deep dive into all we know so far about the K13 Turbo Pro.
Oppo K13 Turbo Pro is priced at 1,999 yuan (around ₹ 24,000) in China for the base variant and goes up to 2,499 yuan (around ₹ 32,500) for the top-end variant.
If leaks are to be believed, the K13 Turbo could be priced between the ₹ 35,000 to ₹ 40,000 bracket in India, which would make it compete directly with the likes of Poco F7 and OnePlus 13R (Review).
Oppo has confirmed the K13 Turbo Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, the same SoC that was seen on the iQOO Neo 10 (Review). The phone will come with a 7,000 mm² VC cooling chamber and feature IPX9 water protection.
The phone will get a 7,000 mAh battery while featuring support for 80W wired fast charging. It will run on Oppo's ColorOS based on Android 15.
The K13 Turbo Pro will be available to buy via Flipkart and will come in three colour variants: Silver Knight, Purple Phantom, and Midnight Maverick.
While the company has not shared other details about the device yet, a look at the K13 Turbo Pro's China specs gives us a fair idea of what to expect.
The K13 Turbo Pro is expected to feature a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and an 8 MP depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP shooter for selfies and video calls.
Moreover, the phone is likely to come with support for LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It could feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K flat OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits of peak brightness.

‘Talent pool, location drew us to Tuticorin'
Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) major VinFast explored 15 sites in six states before finalizing its plant at Tuticorin in south Tamil Nadu. The facility, its first overseas factory, will initially assemble the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs with an initial capacity of 50,000 units annually, scalable up to 1.5 lakh units a year. It is expected to create up to 3,500 direct jobs, wherein 80%-90% of the total workforce will be absorbed from Tuticorin and its neighbouring district. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO, VinFast Asia, who oversees the expansion across key Asian markets including India, Indonesia and Philippines, spoke about the way forward. Excerpts: Why did VinFast choose Tuticorin, and how significant is this project for the region? We chose Tuticorin because the city is close to the seaport and airport. Moreover, the TN government is very supportive. This is the best location for automobile and EV manufacturing because the available talent pool is very good. We feel proud because this is our first plant outside VinFast's manufacturing facility in Vietnam. It carries a lot of sentiment for us. Tuticorin will produce advanced mobility solutions and smart transportation, not just for India, but for the whole world. Customers had flown in from Sri Lanka and Nepal, and soon, we'll see them coming in from Bangladesh. The whole world, particularly the automobile industry, and even NASDAQ is watching us keenly. The first facility (in Vietnam) was established in 21 months with a capacity of 3,00,000 cars. The factory at Tuticorin has come up in 15 months. How are you handling component manufacturing? Currently, we are importing all components from Vietnam. We are planning to develop the supplier park here in such a manner that many vendors will move closer to us to create a supply chain ecosystem. What are the plans to upgrade the Tuticorin plant? If we want to bring down the cost, and be one of the leaders in the Indian market, we must shift to a full-fledged manufacturing facility. So, at this stage it is still a completely knocked down model (CKD) as we need to test the market (CKD refers to products shipped in a disassembled state, with all parts separate, ready for assembly at the factory). We need to operate our network and bring in local partners. We will be moving to a full fledged manufacturing facility. However, we don't have a time frame for that. We have the target to be one of the leaders in the Indian EV industry. How does the plant meet its water requirements? Firstly, we need to store water. The Tamil Nadu govt has made a commitment to provide the necessary support. Even rainwater can be harvested. So, this will not be an issue for us. How was the response for the pre-bookings of the premium electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7 and when will deliveries begin? Where will EVs from Tuticorin be exported? At the moment, online pre-booking looks encouraging. The momentum will surge the day we launch the car, announce the features and price. That will be a moment of truth and it will determine the ratio of domestic consumption to export consumption. We will start delivery of EVs this month onward. (File) In a major setback for Elon Musk, Tesla has shuttered its Dojo supercomputer unit, reportedly after Ganesh Venkataramanan, an Indian-origin former Tesla executive, left the company and co-founded AI startup DestinyAI, along with other former top executives who quit Musk's auto firm. Why Elon Musk shut down Tesla Dojo? According to a Bloomberg report, Tesla is dissolving the team that was tasked with developing its Dojo supercomputer, after several top executives who worked on the project left the company and flocked to DestinyAI– an AI startup co-founded by former Tesla Dojo head honchos– Ganesh Venkataramanan, Bill Chang and Ben Floering. As per the report, Tesla's Dojo head Peter Bannon has also left the company, and is likely to join Venkataraman's DestinyAI. Earlier this month, Tesla took a major hit when around 20 members of its Dojo team left the company to establish DensityAI, an AI startup 'focused on data center services for industries from automotive to robotics.' Following the mass exodus, Tesla shifted the remaining Dojo employees to other areas within the company, Bloomberg reported. What did Tesla Dojo do? First introduced by Tesla CEO Elon Musk in 2019, the Dojo was described as a 'super powerful training computer', which would be capable of training AI chips by processing huge amounts of vehicle video data. These AI chips would be then used to power Tesla's patented 'Autopilot' technology that are installed in its self-driving cars. At the time, Tesla's Dojo was touted as the next big thing by market analysts, and was predicted to give the company a major lead in the sector, with Morgan Stanley estimating in 2023 that the project would increase the market cap of the Elon Musk-led automaker by a whopping $500 billion. How Tesla plans to proceed? However, after the recent turn of events, Tesla is planning to partner with chipmaking giants Nvidia and AMD for computing power, while a deal with Samsung is in the pipeline for chip manufacturing. 'It is not right for Tesla to spend its resources on two different AI chip designs. Tesla AI5, AI6 and subsequent chips will be very good for inference and also for training,' Elon Musk wrote on X, hinting that Tesla will now focus on AI chips that can run AI systems used in cars with more precision and accuracy. Notably, Tesla has witnessed declining sales in recent times due to increased competition, and Elon Musk's political affiliations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said Indian technology and the Make in India initiative were behind the success of Operation Sindoor which brought Pakistan to its knees in a few hours. Noting that India has to not only compete globally, but also has to lead, he said, "We will progress only when our cities are smart, fast and efficient." In this context, he said his government's emphasis has been on completing modern infrastructure. "Urban planning and urban infrastructure are much needed in the 21st century and we have to make cities like Bengaluru future ready," the PM said.
