Navdeep, Yogesh's events axed from Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics events roster
Paralympic gold medallist Navdeep Singh and silver medallist Yogesh Kathuniya's events have not been added to the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics events roster released by the International Paralympic Committee on June 3.
Navdeep won the gold medal in the men's javelin F41 event while Yogesh secured silver in the men's discus throw in the F56 category at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
However, the two events did not find a place in the 552 medal events named in the list.
With regards to the 22 sports that were included by the IPC Governing Board in the initial sport programme for LA28 in January 2023, there will also a total of 4,400 athlete quota places – the same number of quota places as for Paris 2024 and Tokyo 2020.

Across the 22 sports, there will be 243 medal events for female athletes (44 per cent), eight more than for Paris 2024, while the number of medal events for male athletes has been reduced by eight to 263 (48 per cent). The number of open or mixed gender medal events has increased by three to 46 (eight per cent).
Of the 4,400 athlete quota places available across the 22 sports initially included, 1,967 are for female Para athletes (45 per cent), 107 more than for Paris 2024. There will be 2,228 quota slots for male Para athletes (51 per cent), 27 more than Paris 2024, and 205 gender-free slots (five per cent), a reduction of 134 places.

Neeraj Chopra to compete with some big names in inaugural edition of NC Classic 2025
New Delhi [India], June 6 (ANI): Along with two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra, two-time world champion Anderson Peters from Grenada, Rio Olympics 2016 gold medallist Thomas Rohler of Germany and Kenya's Julius Yego are some of the names who will be participate in the inaugural edition of the Neeraj Chopra Classic, which will take place on July 5. The NC Classic was originally slated to be held on May 24 but was later postponed to July 5 due to the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. While Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Neeraj Chopra will headline the meet named in his honour, the Indian athlete will face stiff competition from some of the sport's biggest names. The organisers of the event confirmed a 12-member entry list for the inaugural NC Classic on Friday. as per the The roster remains nearly identical to the original entry list released prior to the postponement, with just one change - Japan's Genki Dean has been replaced by Poland's Martin Konecny. Anderson Peters, Thomas Rohler, and Julius Yego - the 2015 world champion and Rio 2016 silver medallist - will participate as originally planned. The line-up also includes Pan American Games champion Curtis Thompson of the USA, Brazil's Luiz Mauricio da Silva and Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage. Meanwhile, Asian Games medallist Kishore Jena, Sachin Yadav, Rohit Yadav and Sahil Silwal will represent the local challenge alongside Neeraj.
