Walmart introduces four AI agents to boost online shopping
Four distinct agentic AI tools will be rolled out, designed to assist customers, employees, suppliers and sellers, and software developers.
The customer-facing agent, Sparky, will allow users to reorder items, plan events, and receive recipe suggestions based on their existing groceries.
Additional agents include 'Associate' for administrative tasks, 'Marty' to streamline supplier onboarding and advertising, and a 'Developer' agent for testing future AI tools.
This initiative aims to help Walmart compete more effectively with Amazon in online sales, though the company declined to comment on potential job replacements.
