The mechanic was struggling to reverse the BMW estate into his garage, so he put the handbrake on and jumped out of the vehicle.
However, while we was walking behind the car it began rolling down the ramp.
Terrifying footage shows Karl unsuccessfully trying to stop the vehicle by pushing it, as he is forcefully thrown backwards.
The car - which he estimates is 1,800kg - crushes him against the wall before he is seen shouting in agony.
It then comes to a standstill, as Karl is seen desperately yelling for help.
A staff member quickly gets in the car and tries to drive away, not realising it is in reverse.
Karl was crushed again by the reversing vehicle, before the member of staff manages to successfully manoeuvre it away from him.
The wince-inducing video then shows him collapse in the centre of the shop floor, unable to get back up.
His coworker then gets out of the car to help him while he lies doubled up on the floor.
An ambulance rushed him to Manchester Royal Infirmary where he stayed for a week, with doctors telling him he had suffered soft tissue damage to his pelvic area and groin after an MRI.

Karl says he has been unable to watch the CCTV footage back as it is too "traumatic" for him.
He has been left particularly concerned about his "unrecognisable" manhood, as he is unsure if they "work or function" - but he is hopeful it will be OK after the healing process.
Karl, from Hyndburn, Lancashire, said: "My man bits were smashed to bits. They were swollen, they were black and blue and unrecognisable in one bit.
"I don't know if they work or function because the area is very painful and sore still but I think it'll be okay. It was scary for a couple of weeks though.
"It's Final Destination stuff.
"My sensitive man area got smashed into my stomach and the belt buckle went into my stomach. A lot of the damage is soft tissue and nerve damage. Luckily nothing broke.
"It was obviously very painful but I'm not one for being amazingly soft.
"The scariest thing for me was when they had me on the floor and they were trying to put my leg straight and I couldn't bear it because the pain was too bad.
"The fact that I've done drifting racing for 16 years and drag racing and never hurt myself [but have now] injured myself on a random runaway car is pretty unlucky.
"For a couple of days I couldn't really move my right leg and that was scary because they [the doctors] said it had this crushing injury and I didn't really understand it.
"They were talking to people about maybe losing my lower leg and having to cut from top to bottom and I was on a ward with people who had legs off and were having legs off. That scared me.
"I think it's traumatic [the video]. I don't want to see it."
He said they later found out the car had an issue with its handbrake.
They also fitted the car with two new doors and fixed its rear.
Karl said: "Many people have asked what's happened and I've struggled to explain properly so here you go.
"The car was put in reverse twice so that crushed my leg harder into the booth.
"I'm now hobbling about but there's still some pretty grim internal damage and a hole in my groin area. That said I've done way better than the doctors and physio thought I would at this point.
"I've been brave enough to download the video and share it so I know I was dumb trying to stop it it all happened so fast so be kind."
One commented: "You're gonna have to start wearing a Cape now."
A second said: "Lucky lucky man."
A third added: "That could have been a lot worse, glad you're on the mend."

‘It's a shambles!' Parents slam £55 Monster Truck ‘extravaganza' with lame cars in ‘middle of empty, dusty car park'

The lacklustre finale featured an eight minute display FESTIVAL FURY 'It's a shambles!' Despite promising an "adrenaline-pumping weekend of thrills", attendees were left disappointed by long waits for lacklustre performances. After paying £19 per ticket for the two-day event at Wolverhampton Racecourse, attendees were underwhelmed by the shows, with some demanding refunds. The event took place in what some visitors described as a "dusty car park", which commentators told audiences was causing issues for the vehicles. Several of the weekend's events were also impacted by "operational issues". One attendee said: "We queued longer to get in the place than we stayed there, there was nowhere to sit and we couldn't see a thing. "The event was such a let down, it was an awful experience." This was after she had spent £85 on five tickets to bring her truck-loving two-year-old to the event. Another said that commentators used the terrain as an excuse for the poor display. She said: "They had advertised a stunt man jumping on fire in the promotional videos, but that didn't occur. I am assuming it was due to it being slightly windy that day, so unsafe. After a disappointing first day, she called the ticket provider to ask for a refund on the £55.30 she spent on four tickets. Glastonbury opening ceremony branded a flop by disappointed revellers as fireworks display 'dogged by sound issues' She was told to contact RA Monster Events directly but hasn't heard back. Throughout the weekend, guests were expecting a range of events across bikes, stunts and monster trucks. She said: "The acts were quite disappointing, seemed very limited and short. "I felt deceived that the 'show' was portrayed as a lot larger and involved a lot more than it actually did, and that certain things were missing, such as the ride on monster trucks," she added. The wait time for the acts took upwards of 40 minutes, with over an hour for the finale monster truck show. This finale only lasted eight minutes and featured one truck driving in circles, crushing four cars. In an advert for the event it says the morning session would run from 10am-2pm, and the afternoon session from 4-8pm. The advert also promised monster truck rides, but these were reportedly cancelled on the day. One family was left disappointed by the finale. After a forklift moved cars around, leaving four in the middle of the arena, the monster truck "drove round and round and over the cars - it was so disappointing and all felt a bit flat" an attendee said. He said: "It was just a shambles, the kids were really disappointed. "The most disappointing thing was the venue and the lack of organisation - a dusty, dirty carpark essentially." The attendee said that ground surface impacted the shows, and that it should have been on grass or tarmac. With temperatures soaring to 34C over the weekend, attendees found it difficult waiting around in the heat. The open area lacked shade, and the venue charged £2 for bottles of water. UK Monster Truck Rides, who supplied trucks for the weekend, pulled out of the show and RA Monster's future shows after the "minimum requirements" were not met. A statement on RA Monster Events' Facebook page blamed a former truck partner for withdrawing at short notice. It said: "The decision to withdraw was made solely by the ride truck operator. "While we respect their right to make their own operational decisions, we must firmly correct the record: our event fully met all agreed safety and operational standards. "RA Monster Events is committed to delivering an unforgettable and safe experience for families across the UK." Throughout the summer they will be hosting their Motorfest and Funfair events in towns like Market Rasen, Wolverhampton, Hertfordshire and Great Yarmouth. The Sun has approached RA Monster Events for comment.

2027 BMW M5 LCI Spied With Cleaner Neue Klasse Looks

You may unsubscribe from email communication at anytime. 2027 BMW M5 Will Move The Game Forward Our spies on the Old Continent have caught the facelift of the G90 BMW M5, and they tell us to expect plenty of changes, and not just on the surface. The current super sedan and its wagon sibling were only introduced a year ago, but BMW is not one to withhold new technology or even new design cues for future generations. Instead, the M5's mid-cycle update, or Life Cycle Impulse, as BMW calls it, will bring with it a look inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse concept and an interior with BMW's new Panoramic iDrive system, which was previewed at the Consumer Electronics Show at the beginning of the year. Previous Pause Next Unmute 0:00 / 0:10 Full screen 2026 Audi A6 Avant debuts to fight BMW 5 Series Touring Watch More Similar Styling Across All Upcoming Bimmers The new M5 will change little about its lower front and rear fascias, but the top half of each end of the car will gain completely new lighting units. At the front, the trademark kidney grilles will frame the width of the car, with Iconic Glow illumination giving the M5 a distinctive nighttime signature. Moving backward, the hood may be slightly massaged, but the wing mirrors seem unchanged, as do most of the other body lines, including the door panels and side skirts. Interestingly, however, the roof does not appear to be made of carbon fiber or BMW's incoming plant-based alternative, and we don't see a recess down its spine as on the current M5. Recent leaks reveal that the next-generation M3 is unlikely to get a composite roof either, but perhaps BMW wants to reserve that for Competition models, as was once the case. 2027 BMW M5 May Be Ridiculously Expensive At the back of the M5 LCI, the new taillight clusters are still placeholder units that won't be offered to customers, but their shape indicates that they won't deviate much from the current design. Future M cars are expected to have unique headlight graphics (and possibly colors), so we expect something similar at the rear. Then again, a quad-exit exhaust with a massive diffuser panel may be enough. We're not expecting much in the way of changes under the hood. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain will carry over, and our spies say we should not expect any increases in output (a combined 717 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, for the record). A debut will happen sometime in 2026, possibly near the end of the year. Unfortunately, even though the M5 was just hit with a price increase for the 2026 model year, our spies say the facelift will cost around €150,000, or over $176,000. That's more than 50 grand pricier than the M5 is today, so we hope BMW can justify the extra outlay. Less weight, perhaps? We can only hope… Autoblog Newsletter Autoblog brings you car news; expert reviews and exciting pictures and video. Research and compare vehicles, too. 2026 Cadillac Optiq Gets Cheaper and More Powerful for 2026

Autoblog brings you car news; expert reviews and exciting pictures and video. Research and compare vehicles, too. Audi, BMW and Tesla Better Watch Out Cadillac's push into the electric era started with the Lyriq, but it's the smaller Optiq that's shaping up to be the brand's most approachable EV. Positioned as the most compact and affordable electric vehicle in the Cadillac lineup, the Optiq already offers a sharp design, solid range, and a more premium feel than most compact electric crossovers. 0:00 / 0:09 The top 10 best value used cars in 2025 Watch More For 2026, the Optiq receives a host of updates, including more powerful powertrains and increased charging access, but the biggest headline is a surprising one: it's getting cheaper. According to dealer order guides accessed by CarsDirect, Cadillac is trimming thousands off the Optiq's sticker, making its most attainable EV even more competitive against rivals from Audi, BMW, and Tesla. Sub-$51K for a Cadillac EV? It's Happening For the 2026 model year, Cadillac is slashing $1,995 off the price of every Optiq trim except the high-performance V variant. That puts the base Optiq RWD at just $50,990, a 3.8% drop from the 2025 model's $52,895 MSRP. The Sport trim follows suit at $51,500, while Premium Luxury and Premium Sport drop to $53,100 and $53,600, respectively. Apart from being a better deal in isolation, the price cut also makes the Optiq more competitive against similarly sized rivals like the Audi Q4 e-tron. It's worth noting that the Audi starts at $49,800 with less power and fewer standard features. These price cuts come as part of a broader strategy: Cadillac has reconfigured the powertrain offerings, moving the base model to a single-motor RWD layout. We just didn't expect the price cut across the range. Autoblog Newsletter Autoblog brings you car news; expert reviews and exciting pictures and video. Research and compare vehicles, too. New Layout, More Power, Better Charging The 2026 Optiq RWD makes 315 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, outgunning the 2025 AWD model's 300 hp. For buyers wanting more, the 2026 AWD variant gets a massive upgrade, now making 440 hp and 498 lb-ft – up 140 hp and 144 lb-ft from last year. All 2026 models continue using an 85-kWh battery, good for around 300 miles of range, depending on the drivetrain. DC fast charging enables 79 miles of range in 10 minutes, and a new NACS plug means Optiq drivers can now access Tesla's Supercharger network. A new Vibrant White Tricoat replaces the outgoing white paint option, but otherwise, the exterior design remains unchanged. Production of the 2026 Optiq begins August 25, with order books opening later this month. If you've been waiting for a luxury EV that doesn't break the bank, this could be Cadillac's strongest pitch yet. 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V About the Author Jacob Oliva View Profile
