Why isn't Maura Higgins at the Love Island: A Decade of Love anniversary special? Star's absence explained
Love Island fans, tonight is the night. At 9pm this evening, a group of iconic villa alumni will reunite as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, and we literally cannot wait. (Sidenote, how has it been a decade already? Feeling old.)
Over on ITV2, former contestants are set to look back at some of the show's biggest - and most dramatic - moments, while sharing their own hot takes on the scenes. Hey, Maya Jama did ask for big twists and more drama on the new series, which is also set to air this month, so it looks like she'll be getting what she asked for a little earlier.
Theatrics aside, exactly which ex Islanders can we expect to see this evening? And who is set to skip the big event? Because rumour has it, Maura Higgins, one of the show's biggest breakout stars, seems to have lost her invite. Which leads us to our next question... why?
First things first, we're not confirming that Maura is going to be a no-show. For all we know, she may surprise us and turn up at the hottest event of the year. After all, she does have a history of arriving late: the 34-year-old rocked up to last year's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! a few days after everyone else, remember.
The reason we're not sure if Maura is on the bill is that we've not seen her on the list of names expected to appear. Rather, the alumni we know are returning include Cara De La Hoyde-Massey and Nathan Massey, series seven champs Millie Court and Liam Reardon, series nine winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan, and series eight finalists Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope. Also on the lineup are Gabby Allen, Montana Brown, Dani Dyer, Georgia Steel, Hannah Elizabeth, Whitney Adebayo, Anton Danyluk, and Catherine Agbaje.
From her Instagram posts, we also know that Maura is currently soaking up the sun in Mykonos - a long way from the Majorcan villa. She's also not posted anything to the grid about the special, which could also be a hint.
But if you want our advice, we suggest tuning in tonight to find out for yourself. We know we will.
Love Island: A Decade of Love will air on ITV2 at 9pm tonight.

Love Island's Dejon: Everything to know about the new Islander from famous dad to football career
It's time! Our favourite season is about to kick off, get ready for a summer of cracking on, eggs in multiple baskets and rapping to lift the mood - Love Island is here! Earlier today ahead of the series launch next week, ITV revealed the full list of the first 12 Islanders who will be making their way into the Spanish villa, looking for a summer of love. And amongst the 12 Islanders, one of the first to be introduced is Dejon. So what is there to know about Dejon? Consider this your essential fact file on the nepo baby Islander. Dejon is 26 years old. Dejon is from London. Dejon is a personal trainer and already has one very famous former Love Island client, as he's recently been training Tyrique Hyde from season 10. And not one to just sit and watch his clients train, Dejon recently completed his first Hyrox competition, taking part in the recent Barcelona race in a mixed doubles. Ahead of going into the villa Dejon told ITV he was looking to couple up with someone who is "beautiful on the inside and out, looks after themselves and is healthy." Nepo baby alert! Dejon is the son of famous footballer Gifton Noel-Williams. Gifton has played for teams such as Watford and Real Murcia, before moving into coaching. Through his dad Dejon is already accustomed to the life of fame Love Island can bring, telling ITV he's already met David Beckham. "My dad being an ex-professional footballer, I've met all kinds of famous people through him," he explained. "When I was younger it was weird because he was just my dad, but we'd go to a game and fans were asking for photos. I've met David Beckham, he was really nice. And following in his dad's footsteps Dejon has also played football in a number of teams including Oxford United and Slough Town. He's also played for the national team of Grenada. If you want to know even more about Dejon then head over to his Instagram where he has over 14,000 followers and is blue tick official. Of course a lot of his feed is full of fitness content, including his shoutouts to brands such as Nike and Gymshark. Love Island begins on 9th June on ITV2 and ITVX
