
Tractor falls from bridge in horror M20 crash as man airlifted to hospital
A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a tractor fell from a motorway bridge in a terrifying crash that has brought a major motorway to a standstill.
Emergency services rushed to the M20 near Wrotham just after 11.20am on Monday, Augsut 18, after reports of a serious collision involving a lorry and tractor on the A227 overbridge, reports the Mirror.
The impact caused the tractor, which was being hauled by the HGV, to topple off the bridge and smash onto the central reservation of the busy motorway below.
Kent Police confirmed that the driver of one of the vehicles has been flown to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers remain at the scene alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
In a statement, the force said: ' Kent Polic e is currently attending the scene alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service, where one man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.'
The crash has forced the closure of the M20 in both directions between Junction 3 (Addington) and Junction 1 (Swanley).
National Highways said: "The M20 in Kent is closed in both directions between J3 (Addington) and J1 (Swanley) following a collision, resulting in a vehicle falling from an overbridge.
"Emergency services including Kent Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management. If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."
Images from the scene show a huge emergency response, with police vehicles blocking the motorway and fire crews working near the wreckage.
Tailbacks have built up for several miles, causing disruption across Kent as drivers attempt to divert through local roads.
Both the M20 and the A227 remain closed this evening while emergency services investigate the circumstances of the crash.

M20 reopens after tractor falls off bridge and on to motorway
The M20 has reopened after a tractor fell off a bridge and on to the motorway's central reservation. The driver was airlifted to King's College Hospital in London with serious injuries following the incident on the A227 overbridge near Wrotham, Kent, at around 11:15 BST on of the M20 was closed in both directions shortly before midday and at 12:40 National Highways said the road was shut in both directions between junction three, near Addington, and junction one, near after 23:30 emergency resurfacing work and barrier repairs had been completed and the road had been reopened in both directions. On Tuesday morning Kent Police said the man was in a serious but stable condition.

Motorcyclist fighting for life after crash with car in Aberdeen
A 32-year-old male motorcyclist is in critical condition in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a result of the crash. A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in critical condition following a horror crash with a car near an Aberdeen park. Emergency crews rushed to Westburn Road, beside Westburn Park, in the granite city after receiving reports of a collision between a black Talaria motorcycle and a white Dacia Logan car at around 4.25pm yesterday (Monday August 18). Upon attending, a 32-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was raced to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as critical. The female driver and passenger of the car were uninjured and the road, which was closed to allow for crash investigations to take place, re-opened at around 9.40pm. Sergeant Bowser-Riley from Inverurie Road Policing said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn't already spoken to officers to contact us. 'I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam footage or any other information which could assist to get in touch.' Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2525 of 18 August, 2025. A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on Westburn Road, Aberdeen.
