Trailer for movie filmed in Sacramento and starring Leonardo DiCaprio released

CBS News27-03-2025
SACRAMENTO – The trailer for a movie that was filmed in Downtown Sacramento last year and stars
Leonardo DiCaprio
has been released.
The trailer for the film "One Battle After Another" starts inside La Superior Market on Northgate Boulevard. Other areas of Sacramento are seen in the trailer, including the Railyards and some downtown streets.
"Having a major production like this in Sacramento is a testament to our city's growing reputation as a prime filming destination," said Sacramento Film Commissioner Jennifer West. "Not only does it showcase our incredible locations, but it also creates jobs and boosts local businesses."
The film also stars Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn.
Sacramento's Film and Media Office said over the 16 days of filming, production spent $5.3 million locally. This included nearly 3,800 hotels, 172 local hires and 758 days worked by the local hires.
Some concerns grew
during the movie shoot when a judge said court workers weren't notified until after business hours that the filming would take place. A message said the filming would include "simulated gunfire," "talent in police uniforms brandishing weapons" and "emergency vehicles with flashing lights."
The film is scheduled to hit the theaters on Sept. 26.
The trailer can be watched on
Warner Bros. Production's YouTube channel
. Viewer discretion is advised.

Abbi Jacobson's dishes on her first date with Jodi Balfour and how she 'bagged that babe'

Abbi Jacobson is opening up about her very first date with wife and actress Jodi Balfour. On Tuesday's episode of Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, while Jacobson and her Broad City co-creator Ilana Glazer talked about their longstanding friendship and creative partnership, the airtactress talked about her COVID-era date with her now wife. At the time, Jacobson was staying with lesbian Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman. 'It was like, so deep COVID, and she was like, coming over to my house to the patio,' Jacobson said. - YouTube She worried about what to wear, but ultimately picked something simple, 'I'm just gonna wear a sweater and, like, black.' Poehler agreed that a first date outfit has the ability to convey so much meaning. 'What you wear on a date is really important because it says a lot. I'm excited. I'm not excited. I don't care. I want to have sex. I don't want it. Like, there's a ton of things happening,' she said. It must have been a great sweater because, as Poehler pointed out, 'It worked because you bagged, you bagged that babe. Bagged that babe, that babe was obsessed.' 'And y'all are so beautiful and romantic. Like, you're such a beautiful couple. Oh my god. So like, also hot. Hot as f*ck,' Glazer chimed in. Jacobson and Balfour met in October 2020 on the ultra-exclusive dating app Raya. Both actresses swiped right during the pandemic and started dating. 'Meeting Abbi felt like the pinnacle of a long-overdue step in my own evolution,' Balfour told Cultured Magazine. The pair hard launched their relationship a year after they first met with a sweet Instagram post to commemorate their anniversary. '365 days of the best surprise of my life,' Balfour wrote in the caption. The couple got engaged in August 2022, and three years after their first date, they were married at Public Records in New York. Elon Musk says he's bringing back Vine in AI form. Here's what that could mean

BY Good news: Vine might be coming back. Bad news: in AI form, courtesy of Elon Musk. 'We're bringing back Vine, but in AI form,' Musk announced on X on Thursday. He did not elaborate further on his plans. Others, however, were more open to the idea. 'Could be interesting to see what AI comes up with and evolves into,' one X user wrote. Before TikTok, there was Vine. At its peak, the app boasted 200 million active users and introduced the culture to classics like ' and they were roommates ' and ' hurricane tortilla.' Vine allowed users to upload only 6-second clips, laying the groundwork for TikTok's current short-form dominance. It launched the careers of many of today's biggest influencers and originated several of TikTok's most viral trends, including LeBron James and the ALS ice bucket challenge. X acquired Vine from its founders in 2012 for $30 million, but shut it down just five years later, citing commercial viability. The Vine archive remained available for another two years until it was officially discontinued in 2019. Musk, who bought Twitter in 2022 and renamed it X, has long been vocal about potentially reviving the platform. In 2022, he posted a poll: 'Bring back Vine?' with almost 70% voting in favor. Even MrBeast replied: 'If you did that and actually competed with tik tok that'd be hilarious.' Musk posted the same poll again last year, once more receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul, who got his first six seconds of fame on Vine, commented: 'Do it Elon I'll help however I can and round up all the og viners.' In January, Musk confirmed that his team was 'looking into it' at the same time TikTok was facing a potential ban in the United States. But now that fans have heard his plans, they might be reconsidering. What 'Vine, but in AI form' actually means is still unclear. Best case scenario: perhaps an AI-powered algorithm. Worst case: an endless scroll of AI-generated slop. For now, I'll stick with classic Vine compilations on YouTube. Sign up for our weekly tech digest.
