Qatar holds campaign to mark GCC Oral Health Unified Week

The State of Qatar, alongside the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, marked the GCC Oral Health Unified Week with this year's theme of 'Oral Health and Its Impact on Overall Physical Health'.
The events to mark the day aimed to raise awareness and promote the concept of oral and dental care, highlighting the importance of oral health and its connection to overall body health. It also focused on implementing the concept of community partnership in awareness programmes and activities.
The events to mark the GCC Oral Health Unified Week form part of the ongoing efforts by the GCC Health Council to enhance awareness of the importance of oral and dental health and encourage GCC citizens to take the necessary steps to maintain better health and a higher quality of life.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) launched an awareness campaign on social media about oral and dental health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the GCC Health Council, the Primary Health Care Corporation, and Qatar University.
The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles from an early age, reducing the risk of dental caries, and changing incorrect behaviours regarding oral and dental care by using modern scientific methods to reduce decay and ensure comprehensive oral health care.
The campaign included posting awareness materials and videos on social media about the importance of caring for oral and dental health. Additionally, the MoPH, in collaboration with its partners, organised an awareness event at Qatar Mall.
The event included an educational competition for children about oral and dental health and a 'Best Drawing' competition that featured 105 diverse drawings from participating children. Furthermore, MoPH specialists delivered an awareness-raising lecture for mall visitors and their children, featuring various illustrations, images, and simplified explanations.

Tribune News Network Doha The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) yesterday announced the adjusted working hours for the public healthcare sector during the Eid Al-Adha holidays. The Ministry stated that all emergency services and inpatient departments at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) hospitals, including Paediatric Emergency Centres, will operate 24/7. The Ambulance Service will also continue to function around the clock. The Ministry also stated that 20 health centres affiliated with the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will operate during the Eid Al-Adha holidays, in addition to Al Jumailiya Health Centre, which will operate on an on-call basis 24/7. The PHCC will also provide urgent care services around the clock at 12 health centres, including six centres for urgent paediatric cases. The Ministry of Public Health has instructed public health sector institutions to announce the detailed working hours of their respective services during the Eid Al Adha holiday. The Ministry has also announced the working hours of several of its service departments during the Eid Al-Adha holidays. The Medical Relations and Treatment Abroad Department will receive visitors at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) building from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, except on Fridays and Saturdays. The Ministry's Birth Registration Office, located at the Women's Wellness and Research Centre (WWRC), will operate from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM during the Eid holidays, except on Fridays and Saturdays. The Death Registration Unit will welcome visitors at the Humanitarian Services Office throughout the Eid holiday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Qatar Health Care Unified Contact Centre 16000 will continue to operate 24/7. The Ministry of Public Health extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all citizens and residents on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

MoPH closes dental unit in private health centre for violating laws

DOHA: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced the temporary closure of a dental unit in a private sector health centre, and the suspension of professional licences for a number of health practitioners for their work outside their defined scope of practice, which is a violation of Law No. (2) of 1983 regarding the practice of the professions of medicine, dentistry, and surgery, and the regulations and policies governing the scopes of professional licences. Legal actions are being pursued against the facility and the health practitioners who violated regulations. This is part of the control procedures implemented by the Department of Health Professions. The MoPH stresses that all health facilities in the country must comply with the approved laws, regulations, and standards to ensure patient safety and the quality of services provided.
