Manchester United have contacted David de Gea about a sensational return to Old Trafford, according to reports. Ruben Amorim is not wholly convinced about his current goalkeeping options, with neither Andre Onana or Altay Bayindir inspiring confidence. The unconvincing performances of Onana and Bayindir has led the club to consider moves for Emiliano Martinez and Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer. United's priority has been on attacking reinforcements, however, and the club have spent almost £200m on Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. As a result Onana looks set to start for Manchester United in their Premier League opener against Arsenal on Sunday, although Amorim has refused to confirm the Cameroon international will be between the sticks. De Gea made an emotional return to his former club last weekend in a pre-season friendly and later posted on social media that 'out paths may cross again'. August 16 - Rookie Quinn Ewers threw two touchdown passes to fuel the visiting Miami Dolphins to a 24-17 preseason victory over the Detroit Lions on Saturday. Patriots 20, Vikings 12 Veteran quarterback Joshua Dobbs completed 11 of 16 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown as New England (2-0) defeated host Minnesota (1-1). Second-year signal-caller Drake Maye got the start for the Patriots and led a touchdown drive on the visitors' second possession of the game. TreVeyon Henderson capped the nine-play, 52-yard drive with an eight-yard scamper around the left end. Dobbs increased the lead to 14-0 after capping a 13-play drive with an 11-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Efton Chism. Chism caught six passes for 71 yards in the game.
