Leah Williamson insists ‘standards are high' in inexperienced England squad

The Lionesses have faced a whirlwind few weeks after goalkeeper Mary Earps and playmaker Fran Kirby announced their international retirement, while defender Millie Bright pulled out to prioritise her mental health.
There are also seven new faces taking part in their first major tournament in Switzerland – Michelle Agyemang, Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton, Khiara Keating, Maya le Tissier, Anna Moorhouse and Jess Park.

Preparations are well under way for Sarina Wiegman's side, who will begin the defence of their European crown against France on July 5.
Asked what the mood is like with so many changes in camp, Williamson said: 'Everyone has a good attitude towards the job. This week is graft and then next week you start really focusing and honing in on the tournament.
'It's a fresh team in that sense. We probably carry less as a team now in terms of the experiences people have had, but I also see a group that is focused and wants to be better all the time.
'The standards are high, the standards from the more experienced players. It was a great session today and then it gets a bit more exciting, come Monday.'
Williamson played a major part in England's Euro 2022 success but was ruled out of the entire World Cup campaign two years ago as the Lionesses made it to the final before losing to Spain.
The 28-year-old ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament just three months before that tournament and is excited to be back with the group.
She added: 'Personally, it's been a rocky period of time, like highest of highs and lowest of lows.
'I try and put that aside and I think it's a very different scenario now.
'I feel my age, if that makes sense, like I've definitely aged in the last couple of years for good and bad reasons. But it does feel slightly different. It's slightly different vibes, but I'm so excited to be back.
'I'm still keeping my head down and focusing on staying healthy and being in a good place. But I missed the last time and I'm very, very grateful to be here again.'
Williamson enjoyed a successful season with Arsenal and was part of the team that helped the Gunners to European glory as they beat Barcelona 1-0 in the Champions League final last month.
The Lionesses skipper insists she is now hungry for more success.
'I think one of the greatest things about being an athlete is that when you think you're done, you always have that extra part of yourself that you can tap into,' she said.
'You win and you think you want to just bathe in that euphoria. But there's always something else coming, and the best feeling in the world is being hungry for it, and I'm wanting to go again, winning in the summer.
'Being reminded of what that feels like (the Champions League win), I can't wait for the next challenge.'

A lot of players helping family with Euro 2025 travel costs

The Lionesses kick off their campaign in Zurich against France on July 5 before facing the Netherlands and Wales in the group stage. Euro 2025 host nation Switzerland may be a much shorter trip for supporters than the 2023 World Cup in Australia, but the cost of attending the tournament may prove prohibitive for some. 'I think it's all subjective, isn't it?' said Stanway when asked whether the friendlier time difference, compared to Australia, would make the Euros more accessible. 'My families can (attend), but I'm also aware that Switzerland is a very expensive country. 'Even just for flights, hotels, the cost of living there is extremely high, so we understand the demand it is on fans. 'And I think that's difficult for us as well, because we want to help and support as much as possible, even with our own families. 'A lot of us are putting our hands in our pockets to make sure that our families can get over there. We would love to see as many fans as possible and we want to thank them in advance because we know it's not cheap.' The PA news agency understands all 23 players are given an identical sum to put towards travel plans for loved ones, which can be used for transport and accommodation. The undisclosed figure is no less than England's men receive for the same purpose and comparable to what the Lionesses were allotted for the World Cup. Players are also granted a small allocation of tickets free of charge. England and Manchester United midfielder Ella Toone added: 'I've heard it's quite expensive. It's one of the most expensive countries in the world, that's what I heard. 'I think it will be a bit difficult for families who are staying out for the whole tournament, but I know that I'll always help my family be out there and make memories and make sure they're eating.' Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy was grateful for any fans who were able and willing to make their way to Switzerland. Ella Toone (left) trains with England ahead of Euro 2025 (Nick Potts/PA). She said: 'I think it speaks a lot to the fans that we have in general here in England. A lot of people are willing to go above and beyond to be able to watch us and that's quite inspiring for us. 'It creates an energy that we not only felt during the Euros, but we still felt it in Australia regardless of the time difference. 'It's something that we see as our cliche of the 12th woman out there. I think us as a country, historically, but also for the next years, we'll lean on our fans as much as we can.'

The tiny Luxembourgish side finished 2nd last season in the league - and have a stadium which accommodates just 1500 people. That's surely a winnable tie - with United are a team with a strong European pedigree, even if some of it is in the distant past. They played in the final of the Uefa Cup against IFK Gothenburg of Sweden in 1987. Their most recent involvement came in 2022-23, when Jack Ross's side beat an AZ Alkmaar side studded with future stars 1-0 in the first leg at Tannadice only to go down 7-0 in the return match. It's a time of change at United, who lost top scorer Sam Dalby, while on loan from Wrexham, to Bolton. In has come Aussie forward Zac Sapsford from Western Sydney Wanderers, while towering Moldovan defender Iurie Iovu joins him, despite spending last season in the fourth tier of the Spanish league. Goodwin has also been linked with Ukrainian goalkeeper Yevhen Kucherenko, currently with LNZ Cherkasy. United start their preparations for the season with pre-season games against Brechin and Arbroath before taking on PEC Zwolle at Sportpark Bovenmolen during their Dutch training camp.
