
Zakat al-Fitr Project Launched in Hodeidah
Hodeidah (Saba) – Hodeidah Governor Abdullah Atifi launched the Zakat al-Fitr and cash transfer project for targeted groups of poor and needy individuals in the governorate.
The project, supported by the General Authority of Zakat, targets 37,924 poor and needy beneficiaries across the governorate, with a total amount of 758 million and 480 thousand riyals.

Hodeidah: Workshop on Preparing Development Plan, prioritizing economic empowerment projects
Hodeidah – Saba: A workshop was held today in Hodeidah Governorate to prepare the integrated development plan for the year 1447 AH and determine the priorities for economic empowerment projects. The event involved the participation of heads of agricultural cooperative associations and district planning directors. Organized by the Planning Department in coordination with the General Administration for Development Research and Training, the Tihama Development Authority, the Agricultural Cooperative Union, and Bonyan Foundation—with support from the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Funding Unit—the workshop aimed to develop a comprehensive plan based on the actual needs of rural communities. Governor Abdullah Atifi emphasized the importance of participatory planning to draft a development map aligned with district needs. He highlighted that the success of such plans depends on community engagement and the effective role of agricultural cooperatives in setting realistic priorities. First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri stressed the shift from traditional to need-based planning, calling for accurate data and genuine cooperation among all stakeholders. He pointed out Hodeidah's strong agricultural potential, which, if utilized effectively, could significantly transform rural livelihoods. Assistant Deputy Governor Mutahar Al-Hadi underlined that successful planning depends on a clear understanding of the local environment and the efficient use of resources. He stressed the importance of community engagement and institutional support for cooperatives. Key contributions came from the Head of the Tihama Development Authority, Ali Haza'a, Zakat Office Director Mohammed Haza'a, Agricultural Union Branch Head Ahmed Al-Haij, and Statistics Office Director Tamim Al-Absi. They discussed the importance of role integration and information sharing. The workshop reviewed successful past initiatives by cooperative associations, including desert land cultivation and dairy production. Governor of Al-Hodeidah launches second phase of Green Belt Project
Al-Hodeidah – SABA: The Governor of Al-Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, along with First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri, inaugurated today the second phase of the Green Belt Project surrounding the city of Al-Hodeidah. The initiative aims to expand green coverage and boost environmental efforts in the governorate. This phase includes the planting of 7,000 palm trees and 60,000 various fruit-bearing and forest trees along the main entrances to the city. The project comes at an estimated cost of 168 million Yemeni riyals, jointly funded by the private sector, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Local Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit. Governor Atifi described the project as one of the key developmental and environmental initiatives being implemented in the governorate, reflecting the directives of the revolutionary leadership in promoting environmental security and achieving sustainable development. For his part, Deputy Governor Al-Bishri stated that the second phase will be implemented from May through December 2025, marking a significant step in the agricultural expansion efforts within the governorate. He emphasized the project's role in enhancing urban aesthetics and mitigating the effects of climate change. Deputy Head of Red Sea Ports Corporation inspects job discipline at Al-Hodeida Port
Hodeida - Saba: The Deputy Head of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Nasr Al-Nusairi, reviewed the level of job discipline in Al-Hodeida port facilities, following the Eid Al-Fitr vacation. He inspected the progress of work in a number of departments and facilities of the port, operational and service aspects, and the coordination mechanism between all facilities.
