Hodeidah: Workshop on Preparing Development Plan, prioritizing economic empowerment projects
Hodeidah – Saba: A workshop was held today in Hodeidah Governorate to prepare the integrated development plan for the year 1447 AH and determine the priorities for economic empowerment projects. The event involved the participation of heads of agricultural cooperative associations and district planning directors. Organized by the Planning Department in coordination with the General Administration for Development Research and Training, the Tihama Development Authority, the Agricultural Cooperative Union, and Bonyan Foundation—with support from the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Funding Unit—the workshop aimed to develop a comprehensive plan based on the actual needs of rural communities. Governor Abdullah Atifi emphasized the importance of participatory planning to draft a development map aligned with district needs. He highlighted that the success of such plans depends on community engagement and the effective role of agricultural cooperatives in setting realistic priorities. First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri stressed the shift from traditional to need-based planning, calling for accurate data and genuine cooperation among all stakeholders. He pointed out Hodeidah's strong agricultural potential, which, if utilized effectively, could significantly transform rural livelihoods. Assistant Deputy Governor Mutahar Al-Hadi underlined that successful planning depends on a clear understanding of the local environment and the efficient use of resources. He stressed the importance of community engagement and institutional support for cooperatives. Key contributions came from the Head of the Tihama Development Authority, Ali Haza'a, Zakat Office Director Mohammed Haza'a, Agricultural Union Branch Head Ahmed Al-Haij, and Statistics Office Director Tamim Al-Absi. They discussed the importance of role integration and information sharing. The workshop reviewed successful past initiatives by cooperative associations, including desert land cultivation and dairy production. Governor of Al-Hodeidah launches second phase of Green Belt Project
Al-Hodeidah – SABA: The Governor of Al-Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, along with First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri, inaugurated today the second phase of the Green Belt Project surrounding the city of Al-Hodeidah. The initiative aims to expand green coverage and boost environmental efforts in the governorate. This phase includes the planting of 7,000 palm trees and 60,000 various fruit-bearing and forest trees along the main entrances to the city. The project comes at an estimated cost of 168 million Yemeni riyals, jointly funded by the private sector, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Local Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit. Governor Atifi described the project as one of the key developmental and environmental initiatives being implemented in the governorate, reflecting the directives of the revolutionary leadership in promoting environmental security and achieving sustainable development. For his part, Deputy Governor Al-Bishri stated that the second phase will be implemented from May through December 2025, marking a significant step in the agricultural expansion efforts within the governorate. Launch Project to address flood damage & protect villages & farmlands in Tihama
Hodeida - Saba: Dr. Radwan Al-Ruba'i, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, and Abdullah Atifi, Governor of Al-Hodeida, inaugurated on Monday a project to address flood damage , protect villages and agricultural lands in Tihama. During the launch, Minister Al-Ruba'i stated that the project comes in response to the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyid Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, and the instructions of the President of the Supreme Political Council, as part of the government's Change and Development Program. He emphasized that the project will contribute to proactive measures to safeguard villages and farmlands from flood damage during the current rainy season. The minister stressed the importance of activating community initiatives for floodwater harvesting by constructing barriers and utilizing the water to expand the cultivation of grains and legumes. Meanwhile, Governor Atifi praised the ongoing efforts to mitigate flood damage, which will help protect villages and agricultural lands from flood risks. Hodeida governor visits summer courses' activities in Haly
Hodeida - Saba: Hodeida Governor Abdullah Atifi, accompanied by Assistant Deputy for City Square Affairs Ali Al-Kabari, inspected summer courses and activities on Monday at several summer centers in Hali District. During the visit, the Hodeida Governor was briefed on the level of student engagement with the summer activities, educational and cultural programs, sports activities, and Quran memorization and recitation sessions they receive. Atifi emphasized the importance of summer courses in making the most of the vacation by honing their skills and strengthening their sense of national belonging. He noted that summer courses have become educational and cultural incubators that contribute to building youth. He praised the efforts of supervisors and teachers in implementing activities aimed at building an aware generation fortified by their faith identity. He emphasized the local authority's support for these activities, which contribute to protecting youth from the soft war. Ras Issa martyrs' funeral massacre who worked at gas company held in Al-Hodeida
Hodeida - Saba: The bodies of a number of martyrs working in the Yemeni Gas Company, who killed after the brutal crime committed by the US aggression in the Ras Issa area, which left 80 martyrs and more than 150 injured workers in the oil facility and truck drivers, were buried on Monday in Al-Hodeida . The funeral ceremony took place in front of Al-Asoudi Mosque, after praying for the bodies of the martyrs, in the presence of an official and popular presence, led by Governor Abdullah Atifi, Acting Executive Director of the Yemen Gas Company Yasser Al-Wahdi, Deputy Governor for City Square Affairs Ali Al-Kabari, local , military leaders and employees of the gas company's branch in the province. Governor Atifi emphasized that this heinous crime reflects the extent of the US disregard for Yemeni lives, its continued massacres against civilians , economic and service facilities, in flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws. He pointed out that Al-Hodeida people stand united in the face of the US aggression, and the leadership of the province will remain loyal to the blood of the martyrs who died while performing their duty in serving the citizens. The Acting Executive Director of the Gas Company considered the targeting of the company's cadres and workers at the Ras Issa port facility a full-fledged war crime against the service sector in Yemen, and reveals the criminal tendency of the enemy, which does not hesitate to hit people's livelihoods and target their sources of life. The mourners expressed their sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the martyrs' families, stressing that the precious blood spilled will not be in vain, but will increase the determination of Yemenis in steadfastness and fortitude until victory is achieved and the aggression forces are held accountable for their crimes.
