Known for its breathtaking snow-capped landscapes, panoramic mountain views, and serene beauty, Kedarkantha offers a perfect getaway for trekkers of all levels. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a beginner, this trek guarantees an unforgettable adventure. Here's everything you need to know about the Kedarkantha trek, from preparation to tips for making the most of the experience.
Kedarkantha is situated within the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, at an altitude of 12,500 feet. The trek takes you through lush pine forests, remote villages, and vast meadows, all while offering stunning views of some of the highest peaks in the Indian Himalayas, including Swargarohini, Black Peak, and the majestic Bandarpoonch range. The trek is known for being accessible even to beginners, but it also offers enough challenge to keep experienced trekkers engaged.
What sets the Kedarkantha Trek apart is its winter allure. During the months of December to April, the trail is blanketed in snow, transforming it into a winter wonderland. The clear, crisp air, along with the shining peaks, makes it an ideal destination for anyone seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Kedarkantha is generally considered an easy to moderate trek, making it perfect for beginners as well as intermediate trekkers. The difficulty of the trek mainly comes from its altitude and the unpredictable weather conditions. The entire journey is approximately 20 km long and takes around 4-6 days to complete, depending on the itinerary and pace.
The trail is well-defined and doesn't require any technical climbing skills, but the steep sections of the route can be challenging, particularly when covered with snow. The path is also relatively safe, as it's a popular route with a well-established infrastructure.
While the Kedarkantha Trek can be done year-round, the winter months, from December to April, offer the best experience. During this time, the region is covered in snow, turning the trek into a spectacular winter journey. The trek is also a great option for those looking to experience snow trekking for the first time.
For trekkers who prefer milder conditions, the pre-monsoon season (April to June) is ideal. These months offer clear skies and moderate temperatures, though you won't experience the same snow-covered landscapes.

Donnarumma golden opportunity must be grabbed by Man United

Manchester United are reportedly targeting a goalkeeper signing before the end of the window. Uncertainty There have been links to keepers all summer for the Red Devils but there has been uncertainty to what type of keeper the clubs wants to recruit. There were rumours at the start of the summer that United were keen on Aston Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez. Later, it was understood that United would pursue a cheaper keeper like Brazilian John Victor or a younger option like Senne Lammens at Royal Antwerp. Gianluigi Donnarumma links Interestingly, there have been growing rumours that the club is showing an interest in Champions League winning keeper Donnarumma. Paris Saint-Germain are keen to sell him as they have recently signed Lucas Chevalier and have made the Italian available for the attractive price of £26 million. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, United are currently focusing on sales and the Carlos Baleba deal and consequently, have not made a decision on the type of keeper that they want to bring in. Nonetheless, the choice should be clear. Experience There is no doubt Lammens is a very talented keeper and would probably, eventually, be a strong signing for United. Nonetheless, 23 is very young for a keeper and he has not played at a level above the Belgian league. With respect, the English Premier League is an entirely different kettle of fish and especially being the number one keeper for Man United. In contrast, Donnarumma has been in the spotlight since he was 16 for a giant of a club in AC Milan. Despite only being 26 years old, he has played 412 matches at club level for Milan and Paris Saint-Germain and incredibly already featured 74 times for Italy. Winning mentality The Italian giant has played in numerous Champions League matches including last season's final, keeping a clean sheet in PSG's 5-0 victory. He has also won 12 senior trophies for club and country. United's squad is not currently blessed with many serial winners outside of Casemiro, so any added experience of winning to a talented but young group is welcome. Respect of backline United's back five lacks experience. Patrick Dorgu is only 20 years old and Leny Yoro 19. It is also likely Ayden Heaven will get significant minutes this season and he is only 18. Amad who will likely play most of his football at right wing back this season is also only 23 and has not even played a full season in the more defensive role. Therefore, adding another young, inexperienced player to the mix is possibly not the best idea. Andre Onana has experience but his regular errors and erratic keeping style constantly puts pressure on the defence. Whilst Donnarumma does certainly have an error in him, his experience and sheer dominating presence would help guide United's youngsters through tough moments. Golden opportunity Another reason to pursue the Italian is that these sort of opportunities to secure top talent rarely come about. What's more, the circumstances of his situation at PSG mean he will be available for a price well below his market value. United are also not in European football next season, so the chance to add Donnarumma in this context is not only scarcely believable but would also be a real statement signing to the rest of Europe. Win now The Red Devils have undertaken an aggressive transfer strategy this summer. The captures of Premier League proven stars like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo speak to this. What's more, United went head-to-head with Newcastle United for Benjamin Sesko and won. They are also actively pursuing a complicated deal to sign the potentially game-changing midfielder Baleba. Clearly, the likes of Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox, Christopher Vivell and Ruben Amorim want to win now with this transfer strategy and Donnarumma fits this profile a lot more than a Lammens type keeper. In addition, Ruben Amorim will not have years to win over United's fans and board. It is just a fact that he will need to deliver this season to keep his job and Donnarumma gives him this security few other keepers on the market would. European shares extend gains ahead of US-Russia talks

(Reuters) -European shares rose on Monday, extending the strong momentum from last week on optimism over a potential Ukraine peace deal, while investors turned their attention to upcoming U.S. inflation data and tariff negotiations later in the week. The pan-European STOXX 600 index was up 0.3% by 0708 GMT, hovering near its strongest level since July 31. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy won diplomatic backing from Europe and the NATO alliance ahead of a Russia-U.S. summit this week, where Kyiv fears Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may try to dictate terms for ending the 3-1/2-year war. Trump, who is set to meet Putin in Alaska on Friday, said a potential deal would involve "some swapping of territories to the betterment of both (sides)." Hopes of a peace deal weighed on German defence companies. Shares of Rheinmetall dropped 3.7%, while those in Renk and Hensoldt were down 3% and 2.1%, respectively. Orsted plunged 22% after the Danish wind farm developer said it plans a 60-billion-crown ($9.4 billion) rights issue, citing adverse development in the U.S. offshore wind market. Northern Data dropped nearly 3% after U.S. video platform and cloud services provider Rumble said it was considering an offer of about $1.17 billion for the German AI cloud group. Richard Hughes pulled off DREAM deal for future world-class star

Richard Hughes has agreed a dream deal for a future world-class star this summer. There have been so many transfers this summer, some have gone under the radar. Everyone's focus has been on the big marquee signings. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas home range 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the away range TODAY LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! Then there were Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong as well - both electric players who proved at Wembley in the Community Shield that they are going to be future stars of this team. Now we are still waiting on the new arrivals of Marc Guehi and more importantly the big one - Alexander Isak. If that gets over the line, Liverpool will boast an incredible team. But it wasn't just these deals that should be noteworthy for fans. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range Earlier on in the window Richard Hughes agreed a dream loan transfer for one of the most promising players in the Liverpool squad. We're talking about Vitezslav Jaros. The shot-stopper showcased his incredible ability last season, making some spectacular saves against Brighton in the League Cup and putting in a solid cameo against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Before that it was with Sturm Graz in Europe, where he caught the eye. All of these performances suggested Liverpool have another gem, Jaros' numbers back that up, too. He prevented a number of goals while on loan at Sturm Graz, and now he seems to be doing the same at his next destination. Back in June in a move some may have forgotten Hughes agreed to loan Jaros to Ajax, and signed a new deal with the Czech star. This was a dream scenario for Liverpool. Jaros has gone on loan to Ajax to be their first choice goalkeeper. Not only that he's gone there to work alongside Johnny Heitinga, who was an assistant coach to Arne Slot last season. Things could not have gone better for Jaros in his first competitive match for Ajax either. He put in a brilliant performance, despite facing a record 18 shots against Telstar in the Eredivisie. It was the first time in recorded history that a promoted side had more shots than Ajax in the Johan Cruyff Arena as per Opta. But despite this, Jaros kept a clean-sheet, making four saves from inside his own box, and preventing 1.04 goals. It's quite truly a special performance for the goalkeeper and it's a sign of his potential. Jaros absolutely can be a world-class goalkeeper in the future. He's just turned 24-years-old. At the same age, Alisson had only moved to AS Roma, and initially he wasn't a starter with the Italian side. Jaros already has a lot of experience under his belt and now he's going to be playing regularly for one of the biggest clubs in Europe in Ajax. The sky is the limit for him. Hughes has pulled off a dream deal here, and ultimately despite Giorgi Mamardashvili's arrival, Jaros could rival the Georgian to replace Alisson in the future.
