Upon her arrival at Wimbledon's press box for the women's singles Wimbledon final, Kate Middleton, who in January disclosed her successful battle with cancer, was met with an overwhelming standing ovation from the rapturous 15,000-strong Centre Court crowd on the afternoon of July 12.
Jeremy Freeman, an expert lip reader, scrutinised the Princess of Wales' surprised reaction and deduced that she appreciatively uttered: "Thanks. Hi." Then, turning to an off-camera acquaintance, she beamed: "Sweet, very nice to hear!"

Before the match began, she concluded a handshake with the esteemed former Wimbledon champ Martina Navratilova, aged 68, and exchanged pleasantries with the venerable tennis icon Billie Jean King, now 81, who offered a curtsy in return.

When enquired by Billie about her wellbeing, the Princess responded with: "Beautiful."
Post-match, after observing Polish Iga Swiatek clinching a resounding victory over American Amanda Anisimova with a striking 6-0, 6-0 scoreline, Kate extended heartfelt encouragement to both participants, reports the Express.

According to Jeremy, she reassured Anisimova with comforting words: "You should be so proud, well done, and enjoy yourself."
Conversing with champion Swiatek behind the scenes, Kate offered sagacious guidance: "Ensure that you have some downtime."
Previously, she had lauded Swiatek's performance by saying: "Wonderful, extraordinary achievement, very well done. Congratulations and enjoy it. Enjoy the celebrations back home."

After her historic win at Wimbledon, the first Polish woman champion Swiatek addressed the audience saying: "First of all I want to congratulate Amanda for an amazing two weeks no matter what happened today.
"I hope we're going to play many more finals here and at other tournaments."
"I didn't even dream [about winning] because it was way too far, I feel like I'm already an experienced player after winning the slams before but I never really expected this one."

The Duchess of Cambridge, a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, is a familiar face on Centre Court, having been there regularly since her marriage to Prince William in 2011.
Last year, Kate had the honour of presenting the men's singles trophy to Carlos Alcaraz and she may very well present the trophy again this afternoon as Alcaraz faces Jannik Sinner in what promises to be a thrilling final.

Ben Healy takes yellow jersey as Simon Yates wins stage 10 at Tour de France

A monster Bastille Day stage through the Massif Central delivered the fireworks as Healy put in a huge shift in the break to maintain a sizeable gap over the chasing peloton, fighting his way to third on the stage and then counting the seconds until Tadej Pogacar finished. Pogacar put in a late dig as he traded blows with rival Jonas Vingegaard, but when the world champion came in four minutes 51 seconds behind Yates, 4:20 behind Healy, the yellow jersey swapped shoulders with Healy 29 seconds better off going into Tuesday's rest day. Simon Yates took the stage 10 win out of the breakaway (Mosa'ab Elshamy/AP) Yates profited as he followed Healy's lead for most of the last 20 kilometres, then distanced him on the climb to the finish, but the biggest grin was on the face of the 24-year-old EF Education-EasyPost man who became the fourth Irishman to wear yellow and the first since Stephen Roche in 1987. 'It was insanely tough, it was a battle against myself really,' Healy said. 'I just had to dig deep. My team-mates put in so much work today, Harry (Sweeny) and Alex (Baudin), I really, really wanted to pay them back and I'm happy I could do that in the end. 'I kind of gambled a bit. I had the stage win in the bank and how often do you get the opportunity to put yourself into yellow so I felt I had to take that and really go for it.' With the peloton made to wait an extra 24 hours for their first rest day, race organisers put a monster challenge in their way with eight categorised climbs and 4,500 metres of elevation on the 165km stage from Ennezat – ideal territory for a breakaway. A group of 29 eventually got away but were given little rope until they were whittled down to a more focused group of 17 midway through the stage, with the gap growing sufficiently to give Healy a hope of yellow. 💖💛💖💛💖 BEN IN YELLOW !!! That was the moment for Yates, the Giro d'Italia winner who came to the Tour to support Vingegaard, to launch his own attack, quickly distancing Healy and holding off Thymen Arensman to win his third career Tour stage and first since 2019 by a margin of nine seconds. 'It's been a long time!' Yates said. 'I was not really expecting any opportunities here. I came fully focused on Jonas and the GC, but the stage played out in a way that I could be here for the stage win and I took it with both hands. 'I'm under no illusions about what we're here for. Even today the main plan was to be there in case something was happening from behind but the gap was too big so I cracked on and went for the stage.' Remco Evenepoel lost six seconds to Pogacar in the final and is now a full minute behind the world champion in third place, 16 seconds clear of fourth-placed Vingegaard.

Jannik Sinner v Carlos Alcaraz rivalry ‘great for tennis'

Jannik Sinner claimed his first Wimbledon title by defeating Carlos Alcaraz 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 on Centre Court, avenging his French Open final loss. Sinner's victory ended Alcaraz's 24-match winning streak and prevented him from securing a third consecutive Wimbledon title. Darren Cahill, Sinner's coach, believes the rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz is already outstanding and has the potential to become even greater. The two players have shared the last seven Grand Slam trophies, with Sinner now holding four major titles to Alcaraz's five. Both Sinner and Alcaraz closely monitor each other's game, driving their respective teams to ensure continuous improvement, while other young talents are also emerging in men's tennis.

The rapper claims the messages were sexual harassment, but also said that she sent the boxer nude pictures as well in a sexting-back and-forth since 2016. One image posted by Azelia seemingly shows McGregor's manhood strapped to a dumbbell, captioned "lifting weights". She wrote: "How you gonna send a b**** a some crooked d*** pics then threaten her not to tell. LOL "I have never met the leprechaun but today is his birthday and he wants everyone to make a wish and blow out the candle." The Sun has approached representatives of McGregor for comment. It comes after he was caught kissing a mystery bikini-clad woman on holiday in Florida. Yesterday, The Sun reported that the former two-division UFC champion - who hasn't fought in nearly four years - cozied up with a dark-haired woman. He then laid down a towel for the woman and wrapped an arm around her shoulders in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Earlier today his fiancee Dee Devlin expressed her continued support for her controversial partner. She posted photos of the pair looking overjoyed as they celebrated McGregor's birthday. They pair have dated since 2008, and became engaged in 2020. They have four children together. Last year the MMA star was found liable in a civil case that accused him of sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room in December 2018. It was alleged that he had choked the claimant, leading to her fearing for her life. He disputes the charges, arguing that they had consensual sex. A second woman accused him of sexual assault following a 2023 incident at an NBA Finals game in Miami. He has faced no criminal charges for this second case. Last month McGregor was captured punching a man to the floor during an Ibiza club night.
