Roice-Hurst Humane Society offering 90% off adoption fee
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – Roice-Hurst Humane Society is at full capacity and is looking for new homes for its dogs. As of June 7, all the way till June 15, prospective owners can adopt any medium or large dog for just $20, which is 90% off the usual adoption fee.
In promotion of its pups, the Humane Society is hosting an adoption event on Saturday, June 14, the day before the 90% offer ends, called 'Angels in the Making.' It will be from 9 a.m. to noon at 2484 Commerce Blvd, Unit #5.
It is a celebration of Roice-Hurst's 21st anniversary, with yard games, the UnderDog Cheese food truck, Dog Dynasty's informational booth, and a place to adopt from the Humane Society.
Besides the upcoming event they are hosting on Saturday, Roice-Hurst recently brought their adoptable dogs to Wüffstock, a benefit concert at Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, which took place on Saturday, June 7.
Individuals unable to attend Wüffstock or Angels in the Making can still meet adoptable animals at the Roice-Hurst shelter at 362 28 Rd. Tuesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. People can also check out its website at rhhumanesociety.org to see other furry friends.

Annual 4th of July Western Sky Balloon Festival to arrive in Delta
DELTA, Colo. (KREX) — From Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6, the city of Delta will host the 3rd annual 4th of July Western Sky Balloon Festival. The festival will be held at Confluence Park, located at Gunnison River Drive in Delta. The event will start at 6 a.m. on all three days and will end after 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, while ending after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. The festival kickoff movie night event will take place on Thursday, July 3rd, at 9 p.m. at the True View Drive-In. The 4th of July Western Sky Balloon Festival will feature 20 hot air balloons piloted by pilots across several states. The festival will offer morning hot air balloon liftoffs, tether rides, a drone show, skydiving community breakfasts, a craft fair, a beer garden, food trucks, fireworks and more. Tether rides and hot balloon ascensions will depend on the weather. Each tether ride will be $10 and the proceeds will benefit the Delta Fire Department.
