Princess Diana's Childhood Home Was Set on Fire by Vandals — Here's What We Know

Yahoo31-05-2025
Nearly two years after Princess Diana's childhood home in the Althorp Estate became open to the public, it has been vandalized.
In the Althorp Estate, there's the main house, the Althorp Estate, as well as quite a few other cottages, lodges, and farmhouses. These are primarily used by estate staff, or rented out. And in one of the farmhouses, something tragic has happened.

Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, shared the news that one of the farmhouses had been burned to the ground by vandals.
Charles shared the news to X, the app formerly known as Twitter, shared an update reading, 'Stunned to learn that one of ⁦@AlthorpHouse's farmhouses – fortunately, unoccupied at the time – was apparently burnt down by vandals last night. With thanks to @northantsfire⁩ for doing their very best. So very sad that anyone would think this a fun thing to do.'
Per Hello, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement, 'Crews arrived to find a derelict two-story property fully on fire. At the height of the fire, four crews from across the service wearing breathing apparatus used hose-reel jets to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.'
They added, 'One crew remained on the scene into this afternoon with a water bowser to continue dampening down any remaining hotspots, and then returned to their station shortly before 1pm.'
As of May 31, 2025, it's a suspected arson attack from vandals, but no other details have become publicly known . But we are happy no one was injured during the unprecedented attack.Best of SheKnows

The Beatles' Anthology Rereleased with Restored Docuseries, Expanded Music Collection and 25th Anniversary Book

The Fab Four's groundbreaking 1995 project is back — now with a new episode, rare recordings, and an updated coffee table book for fans old and new. NEED TO KNOW The Beatles' anthology collection is getting a long-awaited rerelease The project features a documentary, music and a coffee table book The film comes to Disney+ on Nov. 26 In November 1995, The Beatles Anthology reignited Beatlemania for a new generation with an ambitious project that combined a groundbreaking television documentary, a six-disc trove of rarities and outtakes as well as a lavish coffee table book filled with stories and photos from inside the world's most famous band. The series allowed John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr to narrate their own history in a way that was raw, funny, occasionally contradictory, and always compelling. Nearly thirty years after its initial release, Anthology is returning in a newly expanded and meticulously restored edition. The original documentary, long hailed as a landmark in music storytelling, will debut on Disney+ beginning Nov. 26 in pristine quality thanks to restoration overseen by Apple Corps with help from Peter Jackson's production team — who helmed 2021's much-lauded Get Back. All eight original installments have been polished for modern viewing, and for the first time, a brand-new ninth episode will be included, featuring never-before-seen footage of McCartney, Harrison and Starr as they reunited in the mid-1990s to shape the project and reminisce about their shared past. The musical half of the celebration arrives Nov. 21, when the Anthology albums return in expanded form across vinyl, CD and digital formats. Originally curated by Beatles' producer George Martin as an alternate history of the band told through demos and studio outtakes, the collections now stretch to four volumes. The newly created Anthology 4 includes 13 previously unheard recordings, plus refreshed mixes of the reunion-era singles 'Free As a Bird' and 'Real Love' overseen by Jeff Lynne. Both tracks, originally built from John Lennon's late-1970s home demos, now appear alongside 'Now and Then,' the 2023 single that was completed by McCartney and Starr and billed as the final Beatles song. Together, the four volumes span 191 tracks, presented in deluxe box sets with new notes and archival extras for fans and collectors alike. Adding to the rollout is the 25th anniversary edition of The Beatles Anthology book, available Oct. 14. At 368 pages, the lavish volume captures the group's journey in their own words alongside reflections from close collaborators like producer George Martin and press officer Derek Taylor. Richly illustrated with more than 1,300 photographs and documents, it offers a kaleidoscopic portrait of the band's whirlwind rise, creative evolution and lasting cultural impact. Fans can pre-order the the 12LP vinyl and 8CD box sets here, book is available for pre-order here. Read the original article on People

Doechii Cancels Appearances at Three Music Festivals

Doechii won't be performing at three music festivals she was scheduled to play at this weekend. On Monday, All Points East, Rock en Seine, and Forwards Festival announced that the rap star would no longer be performing, although no reason was given for the cancellations. 'Unfortunately, Doechii will no longer be able to perform at All Points East on Saturday, August 23rd,' High Points East wrote on its Instagram. 'We'd like to apologise to any disappointed fans and hope to welcome Doechii to All Points East in the future.' More from Rolling Stone A Fashion Editor's Guide to Burning Man 2025: What to Wear, Where to Shop Doechii Is Coming to You Live From the Swamp on Upcoming Tour: See the Dates Twice and Doechii Take Over Lollapalooza Day Three In its statement's caption, the festival added that Doechii would 'no longer be performing at her upcoming shows,' seemingly referring to her cancellations at France's Rock en Seine on Aug. 21 and Bristol's Forwards on Aug. 24. A rep for Doechii did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone's request for comment. The three festivals have yet to announce replacement performers ahead of the shows this weekend, although Forwards and All Points East alluded to the rest of their lineup in the caption. Forwards features 'three amazing female headliners' with Jorja Smith, the Last Dinner Party, and Olivia Dean. Doechii was most recently in Belgium for the Pukkelpop festival on Sunday, Aug. 17, and she played San Francisco's Outside Lands and Chicago's Lollapalooza earlier this month. She's set to bring her Live From the Swamp tour to North America in October, and is scheduled for All Things Go fests in New York City and Columbia, Maryland in September. 'This project turned one and before I disappear to create the next world, I'm going back on tour,' the rap queen wrote on Instagram earlier this month, referring to her Alligator Bites Never Heal album. 'The final chapter of this era. Thank you for the memories, the magic, the love — let's close it out together.' FKA Twigs to Replace Doechii at All Points East Festival

Earlier this week, Doechii unexpectedly pulled out of appearances at three major festivals for unknown reasons — but at least we now know who will be filling in for her at one of them. FKA Twigs has stepped in to take over the headlining spot of Saturday's All Points East festival in London. FKA Twigs will headline on the West Stage, joining a lineup already headlined by Raye and also featuring sets by Tyla, Jade, Eliza Rose, and others. Last month, she dropped a new track, the creamy dance strut 'Perfectly.' During her solo segment at Blackpink's summer show at Wembley in London, Rosé showed video footage of her and Twigs doing shots and riding a train to the venue. Twigs also posted an enigmatic photo on her socials that showed her looking pregnant — but the snapshot could also be a sign that a new album is forthcoming. (She later shared photos from what appeared to be the same photoshoot, sans pregnant belly.) She recently told a crowd at a Dutch festival that she's finished Eusexua Afterglow, a follow-up to this last January's Eusexua, but its release date hasn't yet been announced. (Rolling Stone has reached out to reps for Twigs for confirmation.) To date, Doechii has not given any explanation for her decision to drop out of the lineup of All Points East, Rock en Seine, or Forwards Festival.
