The gays have been obsessed with Project Runway since its inception. However, with so many changes to the fashion world and the reality TV landscape, many people assumed this beloved competition series would ever return. As of 2025… Yes, it is!
To celebrate Project Runway season 21, we've put together a timeline of every single winner.
Jay McCarroll (Season 1)
Bravo
Project Runway season 1 winner Jay McCarroll.
The very first winner of Project Runway, Jay McCarroll, went to school at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) prior to getting cast on Project Runway. His run in the reality competition series was pretty interesting — considering that this was the show's first season ever — in that he never won a single challenge until the grand finale.
Speaking of finales! Despite winning season 1 of Project Runway, McCarroll famously declined to receive the $100,000 grand prize due to contractual details set by the production team back then. Namely, the contract would've forced him to share 10 percent of ownership for his future work, and McCarroll was not interested.
Chloe Dao (Season 2)
Bravo
Project Runway season 2 winner Chloe Dao.
Chloe Dao became a huge star after winning season 2 of Project Runway. Though some fans questioned if she was fully invested in the competition, the judges constantly gave her 10s across the board when it came to her undeniable talents as a designer.
Jeffrey Sebelia (Season 3)
Bravo
Project Runway season 3 winner Jeffrey Sebelia.
Jeffrey Sebelia used to be a professional singer before transitioning into the fashion world. He was also open about his sobriety (and struggles with substance abuse).
Christian Siriano (Season 4)
Bravo
Project Runway season 4 winner Jeffrey Sebelia.
At just 22 years old, Christian Siriano made history as the youngest winner of the franchise thus far. Since season 4, Siriano has arguably become one of the most successful designers of the entire franchise, which is still true, even now.
Siriano immediately launched his own fashion label and went on to dress high-profile stars ranging from Rihanna to Kelly Clarkson. In the 2025 reboot of Project Runway on Freeform, Hulu, and Disney+, Siriano appears as a mentor to the contestants — a position previously held by the legendary Tim Gunn.
Leanne Marshall (Season 5)
Bravo
Project Runway season 5 winner Leanne Marshall.
Leanne Marshall had one of the bumpiest rides in Project Runway history, landing in a bottom placement early on, in season 5, and almost going home. In the end, though, she did manage to win the show. A real gag!
Irina Shabayeva (Season 6)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 6 winner Irina Shabayeva.
Selena Gomez and Carrie Underwood were among the A-listers dressed by Irina Shabayeva after the won Project Runway season 6. In the competition, Shabayeva never landed in the bottom, and even went on to compete in two seasons of Project Runway All Stars.
During the all-winners season of Project Runway All Stars, she ultimately finished the competition in third place overall.
Seth Aaron Henderson (Season 7)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 7 winner Seth Aaron Henderson.
Seth Aaron Henderson would eventually make history by becoming the first two-time winner of Project Runway. His first run, in season 7, was a really interesting journey. Oh, and let's not forget that Henderson took home $150,000 as the grand prize.
Gretchen Jones (Season 8)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 8 winner Gretchen Jones.
If you know the saying, "Ugh, you just had to be there!", this victory was definitely one of those moments. The Project Runway panel of judges was more divided than ever on whether they wanted to crown Gretchen Jones as the season 8 winner. Ultimately, that is indeed what happened… But not without a fight!
Anya Ayoung-Chee (Season 9)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 9 winner Anya Ayoung-Chee.
The stunning Anya Ayoung-Chee came into Project Runway season 9 as a former competitor at the Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago pageant. While some fans and fellow competitors doubted if Ayoung-Chee had the skills to win the show due to her lack of experience, she still came out victorious in the end.
Dmitry Sholokhov (Season 10)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 10 winner Dmitry Sholokhov.
Another Project Runway winner with an interesting background was Dmitry Sholokhov. Prior to season 10, he was a ballroom dancer had the judges gagging week after week after week for his work in fashion design.
Michelle Lesniak Franklin (Season 11)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 11 winner Michelle Lesniak Franklin.
It definitely took nerve, as RuPaul would say, for Michelle Lesniak Franklin to win Project Runway season 11. She struggled a bit in the first few episodes, but kept bouncing back, and finished this competition as the crowned winner.
Dom Streater (Season 12)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 12 winner Dom Streater.
All the way from Philadelphia, Dom Streater was only 24 years of age when she won Project Runway 12. Streater was always an avid supporter of women supporting other women — a throughline that she demonstrated time and time again during that season.
Sean Kelly (Season 13)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 13 winner Sean Kelly.
Sean Kelly, from New Zealand, was another winner whose background (prior to the show) and progress (during the competition) felt like a subversion of viewers' expectations. At the time — after winning Project Runway season 13 — Kelly stayed in New York City to live and to work.
Ashley Nell Tipton (Season 14)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 14 winner Ashley Nell Tipton.
Ashley Nell Tipton's main message in season 14 centered on struggling to find clothes that were beautiful and also fitting for plus-size women. With that frustration — and motivation — in mind, Tipton created some phenomenal work in the competition.
Erin Robertson (Season 15)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 15 winner Erin Robertson.
Similarly to Michelle Lesniak Franklin (season 11 winner), Erin Robertson had a wild journey on season 15 of Project Runway… But she still won! This is certainly one of the most exciting comeback stories in the entire series.
Kentaro Kameyama (Season 16)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 16 winner Kentaro Kameyama.
Season 16 of Project Runway was all about Brandon Kee. In comparison, Kentaro Kameyama was among the oldest competitors of the cast (age 38) and was classically trained to play the piano. Project Runway fans who watched season 16 play out in real time will remember that this victory was pretty surprising — it was well-deserved, but Kee seemed to be a much more obvious choice as far as viewers and other contestants could tell.
Sebastian Grey (Season 17)
Lifetime
Project Runway season 17 winner Sebastian Grey.
Colombian designer Sebastian Grey won Project Runway season 17 with a dazzling run that demonstrated how proud he is of his country of birth and heritage. It was also really exciting to see how Grey would take on more "traditional" pieces and turn them into fashion-forward looks.
Geoffrey Mac (Season 18)
Bravo
Project Runway season 18 winner Geoffrey Mac.
One thing Project Runway fans will never forget the adorable and emotional moment when Geoffrey Mac immediately called his father after being declared the winner of season 18. Throughout the competition, Mac was pretty open about mental health struggles like anxiety, imposter syndrome, and burnout.
Shantall Lacayo (Season 19)
Bravo
Project Runway season 19 winner Shantall Lacayo.
From Nicaragua to Miami to Project Runway season 19, Shantall Lacayo won the show and cashed in a giant grand prize of $250,000. Lacayo talked about her dreams of moving to New York City after the show to pursue the opportunity in the city where everything happens.
Bishme Cromartie (Season 20)
Bravo
Project Runway season 20 winner Bishme Cromartie.
Season 20 was a special Project Runway All Stars edition that included season 17 star Bishme Cromartie. His beautiful and devastating final collection on the show honored his sister — who, at the time, had just died two months before the season filmed. And yet, Cromartie persevered and won the show.

MrBeast's plan to reach a new generation of fans
MrBeast has been in the lab cooking up an animated show that he hopes will hook the next generation on his videos. The world's biggest YouTuber announced a new anime-style series coming in October called "MrBeast Lab: The Descent," based on a wildly popular toy line he launched last summer. MrBeast and his team partnered with Australia-based Moose Toys for both the animated show and his "MrBeast Lab" toys. Those action figures debuted last July and became the best-selling new toy property in 2024 across 12 leading global markets tracked by retail sales data provider Circana, the company confirmed to Business Insider. Stephen Davis, the chief franchise officer at Moose Toys, told BI that his team had been talking with MrBeast about making an animated series for a while. The success of their MrBeast-inspired toys last holiday season convinced both sides to make an animated series that would fuel sales for new versions of their toys — and vice versa. "With the launch of this next product line, it was the right time to now move into animation," Davis said. Besides generating millions of YouTube views and selling tons of toys, MrBeast — whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson — is moving into animation to grow his already-massive audience, specifically by introducing himself to younger viewers. "We wanted to create a show that was as inviting to a younger demo as it was to an older demo," Davis said. Growing the tent to fit Gen Alpha Animation isn't just for kids, as the recent breakout success of Netflix's "Kpop Demon Hunters" demonstrates. Davis emphasized that point, saying that the "MrBeast Lab" show's "modern anime flavor" could help expand the fandom while also appealing to MrBeast's current YouTube subscriber base of over 418 million. Still, industry insiders told BI they thought viewership for MrBeast's animated show would skew younger than his Gen Z -heavy following. "He's filling a white space for his audience," said Amanda Cioletti, the VP of content and strategy for the licensing group at market-making firm Informa Markets. Gen Alpha children, between the ages of one and 15, appear to be a target demographic for this cartoon. Amanda Klecker, SVP of marketing and franchises at toy and kids' media company called developing both a show and toy line targeting a particular audience "a smart move." Please help BI improve our Business, Tech, and Innovation coverage by sharing a bit about your role — it will help us tailor content that matters most to people like you. Continue By providing this information, you agree that Business Insider may use this data to improve your site experience and for targeted advertising. By continuing you agree that you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy . Davis said the audience for the "MrBeast Lab" action figures is kids ages six and older, though he added adults in the so-called "kid-ult" community also buy the toys. MrBeast isn't the only content creator who's dabbling in toys. Kid-focused YouTubers like Ms. Rachel, Ryan of "Ryan's World," and the girl from "Kids Diana Show" have toy lines to reach preschoolers. STEM YouTuber Mark Rober, whose audience is older, is also getting into the mix, with a toy line from Moose Toys coming in 2026. More than a cash grab MrBeast and Moose Toys dream of a virtuous cycle in which toy sales spark interest in their show, and the other way around. Cioletti said that MrBeast likely launched the toys first to feel out the market before making the cartoon. While toy sales data from Circana suggests that the MrBeast-Moose Toys tie-up is lucrative, Davis declined to comment on the terms or structure of his firm's partnership with MrBeast. Klecker said MrBeast's approach to brand building shows he's focused on staying power across generations. "What I appreciate about what MrBeast does is there isn't a 'label slap,'" Klecker said, referring to a hasty money grab trading on a famous name. "He's very thoughtful, it seems, about his brand building and his brand strategy." Smart brand partnerships fulfill unmet needs, she said, adding that MrBeast seems to be on the right track so far.

Kristin Davis reveals ‘Melrose Place' co-star wouldn't speak to her on set during filming
Kristin Davis revealed that one of her 'Melrose Place' co-stars gave her the cold shoulder during the time they worked together on the hit '90s prime-time soap drama. During a recent appearance on 'Hey Dude… The '90s Called!' podcast, the 60-year-old actress recalled that she 'felt like I won the lottery' when she landed the role of the villainous Brooke Armstrong in the third season of 'Melrose Place' from 1995 to 1996. However, the 'Sex and the City' star told hosts Christine Taylor and David Lascher 'there was never a moment of feeling confident' on the set of the Aaron Spelling-created series, and one cast member in particular was not very friendly to her. 'There were just so many, so many people [on set],' Davis said. 'And I felt and I have obviously seen all these people since then, and so many of them are so lovely. But at the time … it was competitive.' 'I had my friends within, like Marcia Cross and I were were close, which was wonderful,' she continued. 'But there was one, you know, she wouldn't speak to me. Like, she wouldn't speak to me. 'I never had scenes with her, so it wasn't an issue. But I say, like, 'Good morning,' [and she wouldn't respond].' Taylor noted she also had similar experiences with co-stars, especially during that 'period of time' in which she recalled actors were wary of 'anybody who could potentially threaten your job.' 4 Kristin Davis appeared as a guest on the 'Hey Dude… The '90s Called!' podcast. Hey Dude… The 90s Called! / YouTube 'We've all been on sets where we've had that experience where it was like, 'Oh, I don't think that they love that I'm here, but I'm only here for like a guest star [role] or whatever, right?'' she said. The 'Zoolander' star continued, 'And sometimes they weren't the nicest on certain sets and other times wonderful, but I feel like it was a period of time. And then, I guarantee you now, 30 years out of it everyone looks back and is like, 'Oh my God, what an idiot I was.'' Davis explained she had 'seen this person,' who she did not name, since that time. 'She's very nice to me now,' Davis said. 'And sometimes I'm like, 'Does she remember that she was being not that nice to me?'' 4 Davis did not identify the person who allegedly wouldn't speak to her on set. Hey Dude… The 90s Called! / YouTube Davis said she took the opposite approach when she starred on 'Sex and the City,' describing herself as the 'welcoming committee' when new actors joined the cast or made guest appearances. 'I tried to get out there quick and be like, 'Hi,' because I remember that horrible feeling,' Davis recalled. 'It was scary.' Despite her negative experience with one co-star, Davis shared that it was 'amazing' to be part of 'Melrose Place,' though she was disappointed that her stint on the show was short. 'Melrose was intimidating in, you know, so many ways, obviously,' Davis said. 'I mean, I grew up … watching all the 'Dallas' and 'Dynasty' and blah blah blah.' 4 Season 4 of 'Melrose Place' aired from 1995 to 1996. ©Paramount/Courtesy Everett Collection 'So, it meant a lot to me to be on there,' she added. 'Obviously, it was just a job also. Like, at a certain point, you're like, 'I have won the lottery. Like, I have a job. I cannot believe it.' 'You know, it's amazing, right, from a young actor perspective,' she added. 'And, I mean, as far as I know, I was gonna stay there. Like, I didn't know that I was only gonna be one season, which I believe was 32 episodes, which is insane to think about now.' Davis' character was killed off in the episode 'Devil in a Wet Dress' after she drowned in the Melrose Place pool after falling and hitting her head. During a February interview with People magazine, Davis revealed that she beat Hilary Swank for the role of Brooke in 'Melrose Place.' 'It was Hilary Swank, myself and a girl named Meredith,' Davis recalled of the final auditions for the part. Davis told the outlet she had been worried about her 'very, very long hair' at the time since the other actresses on the show had shorter hair. She recalled that she considered cutting her hair but decided against it. 4 Davis attends the 'And Just Like That ' season three photocall in Paris on May 29, 2025. Getty Images 'I remember going in, and it was just the three of us, and everyone was very nice,' Davis recalled. 'It wasn't one of those, like, scary rooms, and then you go in one at a time.. 'And I remember Hilary came out, and she seemed so young, and she had kind of shorter hair and kind of sporty. And I was like, 'Uh-oh,'' she continued. 'And then Meredith had longer hair also. I was like, 'Oh, good.'' Davis recalled that she and Meredith comforted Swank, who told them, 'I totally blew it,' after leaving the audition room. 'Obviously, she goes on to win two Oscars,' Davis said of Swank with a laugh. 'She did fine. She did fine.'
