11th International Day of Yoga celebrated in Bihar

Patna, June 21 (UNI) With large-scale participation including Ministers, VIPs and common people, Bihar joined the nation on the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga on Saturday.
The main and major state-level Yoga was organised at Patliputra Sports Complex in the state capital here, where 500 common people and several of the ministers of Bihar government graced the event.
Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary and Ministers Mangal Pandey and Vijay Chaudhary, MP Ravi Shankar Prasad and former MP Ramkripal Yadav performed yoga.
On this occasion, Deputy CM Sinha described yoga as a 'great gift to humanity' whereas Choudhary termed it as a path to happiness.
Health Minister Mangal Pandey stated it as an ancient gift from India which balances the mind and body.
The morning walkers practised yoga at Sanjay Gandhi Zoological Park organised by Shriram Shah of Snehi International New Delhi. Several prominent dignitaries, including Nigam Prakash Narayan, Aditya Kumar, Punam Singh and others, participated the international event.

Panaji: Goa joined the rest of the country and the world in marking the 11th International Day of Yoga , on Saturday, with a series of events across the state that saw participation from govt officials, public sector employees, civic bodies, and private organisations. From the defence establishments at Vasco to the Selaulim dam, the message of 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' echoed across the state. Chief minister Pramod Sawant delivered the state's official message on the occasion, calling yoga 'India's timeless gift to humanity.' Describing it as a global movement that fosters health, peace, and inner balance, Sawant urged people to adopt yoga as a way of life for a healthier and brighter future. 'Yoga connects us with ourselves, with nature, and with the world,' he said. Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai presided over a morning yoga session for the Raj Bhavan staff, including the secretary to the governor, Sanjeev Gauns Desai, at the Old Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan. The most picturesque location to mark the day was the Selaulim Dam, where monsoon clouds hovered above the serene waters in Sanguem. A large number of students, locals, officials, and political leaders performed yoga at multiple locations across the state on Saturday to celebrate Yoga Day. Former Union minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur termed yoga a complete way of life, and urged people to adopt yoga for better physical and mental health. After performing yoga at Bhoranj in Hamirpur district, Thakur said that in today's world, adopting yoga is important to maintain physical, mental and economic balance. A video of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu performing yoga at his home was also released by the Information and Public Relations Department.
