Anti-fraud dashboard to monitor Ayushman Bharat claims

Patna: State health minister Mangal Pandey on Wednesday inaugurated the State Anti-fraud Unit Dashboard for monitoring Ayushman Bharat scheme claims. Pandey said this system will set a new precedent in ensuring effective control over corruption in the state. This system has been jointly developed by Bihar Swastha Suraksha Samiti and Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI). "This dashboard is a significant step from a technological perspective, establishing a robust framework for transparency, accountability, and monitoring in health services. It will bring transparency in the claim processing under the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, and will effectively curb fraudulent billing by hospitals," the health minister said, adding any false claims made by hospitals can now be factually prevented, and the genuine ones can be settled in a timely manner. "This system will also aid in ensuring timely payments to hospitals and prompt services beneficiaries. Member secretary of ADRI, Ashmita Gupta, updated those present at the inauguration with the work of geo-mapping of approximately 20,000 private healthcare units in Bihar.

Assembly passes 5 bills, Sita temple ordinance

Patna: Amid commotion, the state assembly passed by voice vote five bills and an amendment ordinance — for constitution of a trust for the management of the reconstructed Ma Janaki temple at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi district — on Tuesday. The speaker went through the motions of getting the bills passed swiftly, since no one from the opposition moved the amendments to the bills listed against their names. Health minister Mangal Pandey, as in charge of the law department, moved the Bihar Hindu Religious Trust (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, for its conversion into an Act. Earlier, the govt, by an ordinance, had decided to constitute a new trust to manage the Janaki temple, being reconstructed with new facilities and infrastructure, spread over 65 acres. The five bills passed by the House are Bihar Municipality (Amendment) Bill, 2025, aimed at giving more autonomy to the chief counsellors and their deputies in municipalities; Bihar Special Survey and Settlement (Amendment) Bill, 2025, having bearing on conducting land surveys in revenue villages in designated urban bodies; Bihar Agriculture Land (Development of Land for Non-agricultural Purposes) (Amendment) Bill, 2025; Bihar Underground Pipeline (Amendment) Bill, 2025; and Bihar Goods and Services Tax (First Amendment) Bill, 2025.

12 bills tabled in assembly

Patna: The govt on Monday tabled as many as 12 bills in the state assembly, including two separate ones related to the establishment of the skill university in the memory of former CM and Bharat Ratna awardee Karpoori Thakur and formation of new trust for the management and running of the new upcoming Maa Janaki Mandir at Punauradham in Sitamarhi district. The bills concerned would be taken up for passage on different dates during the monsoon session that began on Monday. They were tabled separately by health minister Mangal Pandey, in charge of the law ministry, and assembly secretary in charge Khyati Singh, after the governor had given his consent to them. While the Maa Janaki Mandir at Punauradham, spread over 15 acre land, is being already managed by the existing religious trust, the formation of the new trust has become necessary, because the existing temple is being reconstructed on now 65 acres of land on an expanded scale with new design and infrastructural facilities.
