UAE weather alert issued as dusty conditions reduce visibility
The weather alert will be in place until noon on Wednesday, and residents have been urged to be extra cautious when stepping outdoors.
They have also been advised to "lock all doors and windows to prevent dust from entering the buildings".

Speaking to Dubai Eye 103.8's The Agenda, Geophysics expert Dr Diana Francis from the Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, explained that the UAE is facing the impact of a larger sandstorm in the region.
A sandstorm in Iraq on Wednesday forced airports to shut and left 1,800 people in hospital with respiratory problems.
"The shift in seasons pointed out by scientists, regarding the climate change could be seen this year," Dr Francis added, explaining that we could see "early summer and late winter".
Meanwhile, some schools in Dubai announced cancellation of outdoor activities on Wednesday due to the dusty weather conditions.
In an advisory, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to be vigilant during the hazardous conditions, and follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
"For your safety and for the safety of others on the road, please do not be distracted by taking any videos or using your phone," the police cautioned in their social media post.

Light drizzles or rain are expected over some eastern and southern parts of the UAE on Saturday, August 16, as per the daily weather forecast issued by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Cloud seeding in focus as UAE readies for cooler weather
Preparations for cloud seeding during the winter season in the UAE are coming into sharp focus, as the country continues to strengthen its state-of-the-art meteorological capabilities. Earlier this month, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, vice president, deputy prime minister, and chairman of the Presidential Court, He was briefed on the centre's advanced infrastructure, including weather forecasting units, cloud seeding systems, marine monitoring operations, and renewable energy forecasting sections (WAM). Alongside these capabilities, the NCM runs one of the world's most active rain enhancement programmes. UAE Weather: Dust warnings in place across the country
A dust warning was issued by the UAE's weather centre on Friday, with the public urged to be vigilant with "hazardous" conditions in prospect in some areas. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said blowing dust has reduced visibility to less than 2,000 metres over Ras Al Khaimah International Airport. The yellow alert advises members of the public to be prepared if outdoor activities are planned. An amber alert, which advises members of the public to expect hazardous weather, has also been issued for outside Ras Al Khaimah. The weather notices are in place until 5pm on Friday. In a weather update issued on Thursday night, the NCM forecast that the day will be dusty and partly cloudy at times, with the probability of convective clouds, which could signal light rain. Weather for the weekend is expected to be cloudy with light rain expected on Saturday. Rain is expected going into the start of the week and temperatures are forecast to fall on Monday. Temperatures for August are expected to be around the monthly average of 35.7°C.
