Few picture books capture the essence of childhood quite like Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham. With less than 65 pages, the iconic story repeats one phrase throughout — 'I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.'

If you remember flipping through it at school, hearing it read aloud at bedtime, or even discovering it as your first real introduction to literature, you're not alone. Since its debut on August 12, 1960, the book has sold nearly 200 million copies worldwide. Now, just in time for its 65th anniversary, Dr. Seuss Enterprises is teaming up with none other than SPAM — yes, that SPAM, the canned meat many of us first tried at grandma's house — for a special collaboration.

'The limited-time-only Green Eggs & SPAM Classic Twin Pack offers fans a nostalgic journey back to childhood,' said Dan Kubiak, senior brand manager for the SPAM brand, in a release. 'Fans have been creating their own green eggs and SPAM product combinations for years, but now we're making it official. In collaboration with the Dr. Seuss Enterprises team, we've created a whimsical pairing that celebrates creativity, flavor, and fun in every can.'
Available now online at Walmart for under $8, the exclusive two-pack features a branded package that mimics the original book's design, complete with that unmistakable shade of orange. And inside? 'Fully cooked canned pork (no refrigeration required)', according to the official product description.
And besides this partnership, this isn't the first time Green Eggs and Ham has been at the center of pop culture. The best-selling book has appeared in everything from TV shows and comedy standups to a Senate floor filibuster courtesy of Ted Cruz. And fun fact: rumor has it, the story even inspired Black Eyed Peas frontman, will.i.am's stage name.
'The iconic rhythm and rhymes of Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham have now been a staple in children's literature for 65 years,' said Jimeka Brussard, Director of North American Licensing at Dr. Seuss Enterprises, in a release. 'Few know it was actually written using only 50 words. We're thinking the 51st word would have been SPAM! We can't wait to see what kind of dishes our fans whip up with this one-of-a-kind collaboration.'
Shop the SPAM x Dr. Seuss collab on Walmart now, and finally try the dish you once thought existed only in rhyme. And who knows, you just might discover that you do like green eggs and ham — though we recommend trying them at home, and not 'on a boat or with a goat.' Things could get messy.

X-MEN ‘97 Showrunner Claims Kevin Feige 'Resented' the Animated Series' Success — GeekTyrant

The creative clash behind Marvel's X-Men '97 just got a whole lot messier. According to former showrunner Beau DeMayo, X-Men '97 may have been a hit with fans, but it was also a sore spot for Kevin Feige, the architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In a passionate and candid series of social media posts, DeMayo didn't hold back as he detailed why he believes the MCU is struggling creatively and how his own animated project stirred up resentment at the top of Marvel Studios. Despite being fired by Marvel ahead of X-Men '97 's premiere, with the studio citing 'egregious' behavior and severing all ties following an internal investigation, DeMayo insists his criticisms stem from genuine creative frustration, not spite. "Remember, I was told by a TOP exec at Marvel last year that Kevin resented my work and the show because FANS like you were using it as a referendum on how Kevin's MCU is failing." According to DeMayo, Feige and his close circle (referred to as 'the Parliament') didn't appreciate how much X-Men '97 resonated with fans, especially since it was outside their control. 'I was told this in a phone call after Ep 5 premiered. I asked the exec if Kevin was happy, because stupidly I still wanted to help the studio out. There response was a long pause, and then I was told that he'd be 'happier' if fans and audiences weren't using it as a referendum on what the MCU needs to be doing to fix itself. 'What makes it worse I think is that Kevin has nothing to do with #xmen97 and could take no credit for it. Even internally, before the show aired, Marvel employees were reaching out to me asking how I was able to make a show this good given where the studio was, and how it's the best thing the studio had done. With their praise I noticed more and more that I was becoming a threat and regret to studio leadership.' DeMayo claimed Feige was annoyed that people were holding the animated show up as an example of what the MCU should be, a franchise that takes canon seriously and focuses on character-driven storytelling. 'Kevin is introducing new concepts like adamantium and mutant Ms Marvel while simultaneously recycling old Fox characters all before telling us they're going to reboot everything anyways? Like, what the f*ck?' DeMayo also alleges that Marvel leadership downplayed the success of the series and actively tried to erase his contributions. 'Instead of looking at what my team and I did and learning to replicate our focus on canon and deep character work, they smeared me, tactically threatened the crew not to speak out while continuing to still abuse them, and have done everything to act like #xmen97 wasn't a hit.' He pointed to the absence of Feige and Marvel exec Louis D'Esposito at the X-Men '97 premiere as another example of the studio's lack of support. 'They didn't show up to thank the fans. They didn't show up to thank @xmentas, the Lewalds and Houston or the OG voice cast, for how they built that foundation back in the 90s of the MCU. Nope, we were just a little cartoon that wasn't sexy enough or taken seriously enough to warrant that great Kevin Feige to attend.' Despite the personal controversy surrounding DeMayo's exit, which includes disturbing allegations of inappropriate behavior, there's no denying that X-Men '97 struck a nerve with longtime Marvel fans in a way recent live-action MCU projects haven't. Even Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have acknowledged the show's impact. 'Sorry, that was #xmen97, and even Ryan Reynolds has acknowledged it. Sadly, Kevin Fiege and his sycophants hated that what I created with my team was getting all the praise it did.' DeMayo ended his commentary with a call for Marvel to return to storytelling rooted in the comics and characters, not just celebrity cameos and box office hype. 'There's no talk of the actual heroes or characters or story, because Kevin and his brood are just Star-fucking at this point hoping it'll earn dollars at the box office.' It's still unclear how Marvel Studios plans to reboot the X-Men for the MCU. With X-Men '97 set to return for Season 2, though without DeMayo, the pressure is on for Feige and company to deliver something that meets fan expectations. Until then, the legacy o f X-Men '97 is now tangled in behind-the-scenes drama and questions about Marvel's direction. DeMayo may be out of the picture, but his criticisms are echoing through the fandom, challenging the studio to prove it hasn't lost its way.

Sweet Loren's TikTok Name Error Led to Viral Success, Sales

On Friday, Sweet Loren's finally got access to change its name back from what it has been this past week: "Ryan." Gluten-free cookie dough brand, Sweet Loren's, has gone viral before (both Kylie Jenner and Glen Powell have touted the sweet treats), but this week, the brand achieved incredible viral success — and by total mistake. While trying to update her personal TikTok name, the company's new social media manager, Ryan Weitz, accidentally changed Sweet Loren's TikTok name to her own — "Ryan." She says she immediately tried to change it back, only to find out she would be unable to do so for seven days. "So I don't get in trouble, please make this follower count go up," she says. One week and 42 videos later, Sweet Loren's is still enjoying viral success, with more than 2.2 million views so far. The company has gained 10,000 followers in the last week, and website-based sales increased 46%, the social media team told PRWeek. "TikTok is a place where you can have a little fun, so we decided to lean into it and create content around the moment," Weitz told the outlet. "I was pushed to really go for it, be unafraid, and it's paid off." Sweet Loren's finally got the ability to change its name back on Friday (though it still has yet to do so). Nipsey Hussle honored on 40th birthday with Los Angeles Metro station renaming

The Los Angeles Metro is honoring the late hip-hop rapper Nipsey Hussle by renaming a station after him. On what would've been his 40th birthday, Metro has temporarily renamed the Hyde Park Station near Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue the "Nipsey Hussle Station" through the end of the month. Zoe Zeigler, executive officer of Marketing at Metro, said the collaboration with Nipsey Hussle's estate and his family is all about continuing his legacy and highlighting the impact he had on the community. "This was really a true partnership. They actually reached out to us, really knowing that Nipsey was a part of this community," Zeigler said." Zeigler explained that the partnership is part of Metro's Culture Series that aims at celebrating Angelenos who have helped shape LA culture. "We couldn't be happier to launch the Metro culture series with the Nipsey Hussle estate and his family," Zeigler said. "This is a true embodiment of what we're about, culture, community and forward progress." Zeigler said Nipsey used to ride the "108 bus... off of Crenshaw and Slauson all the way to the Blue line, going from South Central to Watts." Metro has also released two limited-edition Nipsey Hussle TAP cards. Eulanda Lynn Matthews waited in line at the temporarily renamed "Nipsey Hussle Station" to get her hand on one of the cards. "I want to show my support and my love and give my prayers out to his family," Matthews said. "I know as a community we miss him." She said that although some people just saw him as a rapper, but he was much more than that. She described him as someone who invested in his community and was trying to do good until his death. The TAP cards will only be available for purchase in person. Places to get the limited-edition Nipsey Hussle TAP cards: Nipsey Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, was a Grammy-award-winning rapper from South Los Angeles. He was gunned down outside of his clothing store, Marathon Clothing, in 2019 near the Hyde Park Station.
